ELS home builders did our entire remodel project. We gutted almost the entire home, moved load bearing walls, vaulted a ceiling, moved the kitchen and landscape the entire property. The project took about eight months with a few pieces wrapping up a couple months after move in due to materials delays. Throughout the course of the project the team was on site almost every day, the project was never stalled even when the schedule had to rearrange to accommodate materials delays or weather. They worked hard, took feedback well, corrected errors or miscommunications quickly and without fuss. When things went wrong, they kept a level head and solved the problems. On multiple occasions we had to call in the structural engineer to verify or alter the plans after discovering problems and these changes went smoothly. The finish work was always done to a high quality bar, on several occasions the supervisor held his team to a higher standard, having them redo something that he wasn’t happy with. Nothing in a remodel ever goes perfectly to plan but ELS Home Builders made the process a lot less stressful and I am very happy with the end result of the project.

ELS did an amazing job with our home remodel. It was our first time remodeling and we had interviewed 5-8 contracting companies but my wife and I chose ELS based on a few reasons. 1. The price was reasonable, some of the other companies gave us such high quotes that it was impossible. 2. Evan suggested we use his designer no matter what to just get an accurate quote (which meant to us that he’s fair) 3. Evan stated that he would go with us to his stone person, his kitchen contact, his door person, etc. (which gave us an incentive since it was our first time and he sounded very experienced and knowledgeable. We did have to follow up with ELS a few times to get an update of the timeline and what was next but overall, their communication turn around time was basically instant which we appreciated. There are many moving parts with remodels, permits and construction. So we realized that it’s easy to have miscommunication with the different groups and people but Evan and Nardo did their best to keep our project on track. As clients, we liked knowing was was next and needed lead times to ensure we could have the materials they needed so it would be more efficient. Overall, it was very helpful to have Evan come with us when we were choosing our tiles, doors and frames, the kitchen cabinets and he was always available when we were buying our vanities, faucets, etc. Also having his designer Jason allowed the layout of our home to be exactly what we wanted. We could not be happier with the outcome and the quality of work that ELS put into our home speaks volumes. They are true to their word and contracts, fair in their price and we’re easy to work with.

I had five water leaks that destroyed my son’s bedroom and bathroom. After having to re-pipe my entire home, I ended up with more holes than the water leak originally damaged. I had holes in my bathroom from re-piping of my shower and tub, as well as holes in my son’s bedroom wall (don’t get me started on his floors…total mess, mold, lots of damage). After getting a restoration company to come air it out, I had reached out to multiple construction companies for rebuilding my son’s bedroom floor, bathroom floor and fixing all remaining holes in my home. I first spoke with Sarah who was very pleasant and professional. You might be surprised to learn there are many companies out there, that are not professional. Evan came to my house to give me a quote. He was very honest and blunt, which immediately won me over (I’m the same way). I gave him my timing demands, as I was to host a family gathering two weeks away; can you say STRESS? Dealing with the pain of insurance, having to deal with two different restoration companies (first company didn’t finish their job), after talking with Evan, he assured me everything would be ok. I didn’t have the slightest clue where to begin to look for new flooring…Home Depot? Lowes? He took the time to meet me at a different store to pick out new flooring and gave me his honest opinion on what I should not buy and what would work within my budget. With my family function nearing, my stress was quickly relieved when Evan and his team finished my job ahead of schedule. They also took the time to match the paint in the rooms where needed. Evan and his team were there to respond to any questions I had during the process (via phone, text); communication is KEY. To say that Evan and his team exceeded my expectations, is a HUGE understatement. They did such a great and fast job, I hired them to help with a smaller kitchen issue/remodel that they AGAIN, finished before my family gathering deadline. I have another project (laundry floor remodel), that I will need done. Evan will be the first person I call, when that time comes. Thank you Evan, Sarah and your team! You guys are amazing, and although I really enjoyed working with you, after my laundry floor….I hope I don’t need to call you back!! (But if I do, you’ll be the first and ONLY contractor I call and I’ll definitely recommend to everyone and anyone).

We trusted Evan from the start. He was the most straight forward with his estimate, timeline and team. We knew where we were through the entire renovation process, he ensured we worked with great vendors and teams, we could not be happier with the results!! He converted an addition into a master suite, with custom shower, walk-in closet, new hard word floors that married seamlessly with the rest of the house - he thought of nice details, like staining our mantel the same color as our floors - it looks gorgeous!! AND he was willing to tackle a 1,000 sq. foot composite deck to connect 3 new French Doors for seamless indoor outdoor living. Highly recommend Evan and ELS Home Builders. I heard about ELS through a friend, and had Evans guys install new windows and plantation shutters in my new home. I'd highly recommend ELS if you want a job done first-class and delivered as promised!

Evan and his team have done 5 projects for us (from window replacement to master suite remodel, a couple with SGK and since then as ELS), and they have all come out fantastically. Evan has been extremely easy to work with, and he's also been a strong advocate for getting things done right. On top of all of that, he has contributed great ideas about how to improve the designs I've had for my projects. He definitely stands out from the rest of the contracting crowd. Evan is great at setting up time to select materials from local vendors, but for some of our projects we already had a lot of the finished items in mind. He adapted to that with no issues. He stays on top of the projects and gets the team to stay focused on the timeline. If there is a hiccup, he's really transparent about the situation and how to get back on track. Every bit of work he's done for us is still in tremendous condition... it's all been really top notch.

We did a full kitchen remodel and added a gas fireplace. We are extremely pleased working with Evan and his #1 Fernando. We worked with Evan who connected us with Dan at All Natural Stone in San Jose, for counter tops and flooring. The work by Evan's subcontractors for flooring, painting, etc., was flawless. We ordered custom cabinets which are beautiful. We were very comfortable through the entire process. We highly recommend ELS Homebuilders!

Project: Structural redesign of the kitchen & dining room into an open concept. Master bathroom remodel and building of a laundry room upstairs. Duration: 12 weeks We hired Evan and his team for our large project. Its simple: Evan is a man you can trust. Despite being anxious during the project, there were no issues which weren't handled there and then without causing any delay. In fact the project was going so smoothly my husband decided to add a few other items to Evan's list and still the project finished on time. Evan works with Forman, Fernando, who is by far the most precise, structured and on the job project manager I have ever worked with. Fernando manages the day to day operations and keeps you informed at every stage. When he encountered an issue, he didn't leave it up to you to find the solution but came with a decision on how to resolve it. Fernando had all the tradesmen lined up week by week. We are so impressed that we are planning a second stage to our remodel later this year (garage conversion and new detached garage).
