DUNCAN MCROBERTS is principal of Duncan McRoberts Associates, an internationally recognized Pacific Northwest design firm specializing in traditional and classical architecture. Duncan is well known within the architecture establishment of His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, and holds M.Arch & B.Arch degrees from the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture. He is an alumnus of The Prince's Foundation, a Design Leadership Member (DLN), and founder and president of the Northwest Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA-NW). In 2008, Duncan was honored as a NEW PALLADIAN comprising an established international selection of leading practitioners of contemporary traditional & classical architecture in Europe & the U.S. Mr. McRoberts has been involved in various initiatives set forth by HRH, The Prince of Wales, and The Prince's Projects Office, such as four separate Urban Design Task Force's including those in the historic centers of Beirut & Berlin. He began practice in London, England, with renowned classical architect, theorist and laureate of the 2004 Richard H. Driehaus Prize for Classical Architecture, Dr. Demetri Porphyrios. Dr. Porphyrios' seminal writing on classicism & international award winning commissions were invaluable, if not rare influences contributing to Duncan's own theory & praxis. McRoberts considers aesthetic intelligence in drawing to be the most important working tool of investment quality for building well once again. That is to say, because what we draw is in fact what we build - how we draw becomes a critical to the way by which great design is crafted, evaluated and made. Duncan is a frequent visiting architecture critic at the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture. He is an honoree of the LUXE MAGAZINE INTERIORS + DESIGN GOLD LIST, and has showcased his designs in the Rolls-Royce Owners' Club (RROC) and Bentley Motor cars World of Luxury Publication + Exhibit, by St. James's House as the world's most respected names in design and luxury lifestyles. Mr. McRoberts has been widely published and exhibited work in New York, Chicago, London, Rome, the RIBA, and The Prince's Gallery.
