Dream Scapes Water Features and Landscaping

Wow - what can I say! Having a Dreamscape Water Feature has transformed the energy in our backyard and it's something that I enjoy everyday, many times a day. We're so glad that we stumbled upon another of James' projects and got in touch with this landscape artist. James has a passion and pride in his work that is unparalleled. It was a great adventure to collaborate with James on plant selection (both at the nursery and via many emails), design, aesthetics, and adjustments as we went through the project. James is very attentive and was great at translating my general ideas into a functioning work of art! The waterfall is the most natural looking water feature that I have seen - no visible concrete or odd rocks to give away that it's manmade. It truly looks like a part of the landscape. I might even say that it has become the centerpiece of our home - everyone (especially our kids) love it and are drawn to it. The value was also outstanding! We highly recommend James & his crew - they're top notch, all-around.

James was the only landscaper who had a vision to make my backyard an outdoor living space. He exceeded all of my expectations! James is so passionate about his work and his love for what he is doing definitely shows through in the finished product! My grandchildren love to come over and spend time in "their magical garden". After meeting with several landscape architects I selected James to redesign my backyard hillside and I could not be happier with my decision. James transformed my backyard and I would highly recommend him to anyone considering an outdoor project. James is very patient, creative and detail oriented. He chooses plants that are unique and has a great vision to see the end result, which helps ensure an efficient process throughout. James communicates clearly and frequently and was a great partner in executing my project. It is clear that James loves his work. I hired DreamScapes to create, build, and landscape my backyard. I am truly blown away every day when I go sit in my backyard oasis! I met with several landscape professionals and construction people before James 'Seamus' Hiestand from DreamScapes came by. He understood what we were trying to do right from the beginning. We told him we wanted a little whimsical, oasis in the middle of the city to relax. We had PLENTY of obstacles and only about a 300sq ft area to work with for the garden and landscaping. James got it right away and had amazing ideas for us that we never would have known on our own. He ended up tearing down our 6' fence and putting up the most beautiful, perfectly straight, 8' stained cedar wood fence I have ever seen! He also made two gates for us that are incredibly sturdy and well-built, self-closing, etc. He then took the ugliest dirt pile of a backyard we had and transformed it into our favorite part of our home! The incredible attention to detail can be seen everywhere. DreamScapes chose the best looking hardscape materials (decomposed granite for our project), the best plants (they even took into consideration how much sun each plant would get in each part of the garden), and the best water fountain and water feature for my garden oasis! They had the incredible idea to wrap the entire space with one continuous planter so I can be surrounded by all of the beautiful plants in the garden when we sit back there. They installed passionfruit vines and bougainvillea on one side and behind my water fountain and installed invisible wire up my 8' fence for the vines to grow up. It looks magical like they are growing up an invisible trellis! They also installed my irrigation system which works effortlessly with my Smart Home and I love it! The lighting DreamScapes created for my garden is beautiful. I got professional grade string LED lights and just thought they would crisscross across the garden, but NOOOOO, they took the time and ran each line straight across, cut it and ran the next line straight across so it looks amazing. It looks kind of cheap when they crisscross. I didn't even know they could run the lines straight across. It looks great!! They also took care of some water drainage issues I had why they were at it and built a retaining wall for my neighbors that I know they love. I cannot recommend them enough. All of this to say, DreamScapes took care of everything! Even the things I didn't know to want or ask for. They created a magical oasis for me and my family to escape the stresses of city life. They gave me complete privacy and security with the fence they built. They gave me a beautiful garden and water fountain to look at and smell... and the sound of the water feature just melts away the city sounds and melts away the stress. I had very high expectations for what I wanted and DreamScapes still blew me away! Since DreamScapes finished their work, my family has spent nearly every night out in our new favorite part of our home, our backyard oasis!!

The best word to describe James and his work is impressive! James, with his sincere passion and endless ideas totally transformed my yard literally into a Dreamscape. In addition to the beautiful plants, James added an incredible water feature and built a custom arbor. I couldn’t recommend more more highly.
