Thayne has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I was referred by a friend to work with Thayne, he had done a full remodel design for them and it looked great!! Thayne has designed our custom dream home, without ever meeting in person, did it timely and professionally! I emailed him some pictures of inspiration and he incorporated everything and more into the design of the home. Not only did he listen and provide me what I requested, he provided advice on cost savings with the design and explained why I could not have such things, as that design feature would not pass code. This advice alone is worth working with Thayne, as it will save me time and money with moving forward with the build. I cannot say enough great things about Thayne and is designing abilities. Thayne has the experience and knowledge that you need when designing a home. I am so excited to move forward with the building of this design.

Thayne was easy to work with from start to finish. He made great use of every square foot. He tackled all the same details beautifully. My wife and I are building our house on our lake lot in Weatherford. We had some ideas of what we wanted when we went to Thayne. When we first sat down with Thayne, he asked a lot of questions about what we wanted and listened to our ideas. He walked us through his process and guided us in making great choices in our layout and in what the ultimate finished house would look like. When we left Thayne's office the first day we felt confident we had chosen the right architect for our house. There were a few phone call follow ups where Thayne had one or two questions regarding personal preference on some layouts. When we got the first set of drawings my wife and I made some changes. Thayne was quick with the redraw. The end plans turned out great! I would recommend Thayne because he listens to what you want, guides you were you want to go! His end product fit our needs and our wants perfectly!

We had an exceptional experience working with Thayne. We started with a rough hand drawn floor plan that we created and ended with a final architectural plan that completely met our expectations. Mr. Hillrichs was very thorough and provided a quick turnaround for each iteration of tje design process. I'm fairly sure he would be just as responsive should any design issues come up during the construction phase.

We had a fantastic experience designing our dream home with Thayne. We had our initial meeting with him where we shared our ideas, initial inspiration photos and general budget. During our 2+hr meeting he created and updated initial hand drawn sketches and took many notes. A few weeks later he sent our first floor plan which was incredibly spot on, we took our time and reviewed, met with him again, discussed some floor plan changes and had conversation regarding elevation. I provided additional exterior inspiration pictures, and based on that he provided advice on design and budget ideas, with flexibility to upgrade (windows/roof). Revised floor plans were provided and once approved he sent the elevation and electrical plans. We made some small changes to the electrical plan and he was able to make the added changes quickly. I appreciated this insight and advice on design, flow and notice when we were making choices that could impacted budget. He was very responsive, anytime we had questions he was prompt to respond and now after our project has been completed, we’ve had a couple of questions and he is still very quick to respond. We are very happy with our design and the overall process, he really took the time to listen and incorporate our ideas into one cohesive design, we highly recommend Thayne.

Ever had a house designed around a garage? Well, we did. It has always been my dream to incorporate an auto enthusiast garage into our dream house. Between the extensive (and often ridiculous) city codes regarding extra garage space, the limitations of the lot size and my wife's specific requirements in the plan, Thayne had his work cut out for him. Thayne listened to what we wanted, he asked a lot thoughtful questions to help him understand exactly what we were looking for and he made helpful suggestions until he was able to design our true dream house. Thayne Hillrichs listened carefully to our requirements, and he translated our dreams into a detailed plan. He consistently works on million dollar homes with large square footage, but our plan was small in comparision (under 2500 square feet). Thayne was very responsive to our questions and changes as we thought out our requirements. He gave us space to make decisions without pressure. Even though our house was small, we were never treated as a 'small' customer.

We wanted to remodel our master bath and, closet which were very small. Distinctive Dwelling was able to take the formal living area that we were not utilizing and expand our master bath and closet. All the plumbing was moved around to get a large walk in shower, large vanity area with an area to sit . The closet was expanded to have a island with drawers, out of season racks , a shoe closet for myself and the back wall was converted to a custom shoe rack for my husband.

Thayne is a magician as well as architect/designer/family time planner/organizer. We struggled over primitive designs for 9 months before we broke down and hired this magician. Best money we ever spent! Within 5 minutes of our first meeting he corrected the errors of the design and two weeks later had the plans "perfect." He knew we had expensive tastes with a regular-guy's budget and created a design that will rival million dollar cabins -- informing us of ways we can "get the look" without the expense. He was thoughtful and thorough, punctual and passionate. If we ever build another house/cabin he's our guy!
