We first started working with D&G in May of 2023 when we were gathering bids for our whole-home remodel. D&G stood out to us immediately for their professionalism, knowledge, friendliness and process. Now, 11 months later, we are preparing to move back into an absolutely stunning home. In reflecting back on this entire experience, we find it hard to put into words just how grateful we feel for choosing and trusting D&G with our family home. The trades they brought in are absolute masters of their craft. Corners were never cut and any issues were addressed and fixed immediately. They kept to the timeline and even got us back into our house weeks before the projected end date despite some setbacks. D&G does it right and does it well, and we can’t wait to work with them again in the future for a basement remodel.

D and G were well worth the wait and the money. I had my basement finished. From start to finish, the entire team were highly professional and knowledgeable. We had a great experience with D&G renovating our basement! Darren and the team were excellent to work with and guided us smoothly through the whole process, from initial design consult to final quality inspections/walk-throughs. They listened to our ideas and desires for the basement, made some great suggestions, then put together a plan that we were thrilled with. They stuck to the budget and schedule that they laid out for us up front, and the end result was a basement space that we love spending time in now with home theater, wet bar, and gym. Can’t recommend D&G enough, and we will definitely be going back to them for any future projects.

D & G did an AMAZING job on my clients full home renovation! I have been a designer for 24 years and I have seen and experienced a litany of design/build firms and construction companies. D & G is the best of the best in terms of all important factors: communication, thoroughness, follow through, sincerity, project management, and their commitment to excellence. My design firm was across the country on the east coast and this was my third project with my client. The challenge was we needed to find a capable company to complete a whole house renovation that we could completely trust to get the job done and done exceptionally. D & G did just that. D&G finished our basement, and it looks great! From the design team, the project managers and supervisors, to all of the contractors, everyone was very nice and easy to work with. The design took our current house aesthetic into account. It looks like it was finished with the rest of the house. The construction team kept the space very clean. We had no dust or dirt problems during the project. Workers went through the basement window, so the project rarely interfered with our day. There was one licensing delay, but the team worked hard to get the project back on track. Overall, we loved working with D&G and are very happy with our new space!

D&G was an excellent company to work with. We entrusted them with redoing our kitchen and family room area. They did an incredible job! We are thrilled with the results. Having worked with other companies for previous projects, we feel thankful to have found and worked with D&G. They were super communicative and set up our expectations for the project from the very beginning. Every D&G employee was wonderful to work with as well as the subcontractors. The project managers pay attention to detail as if they are remodeling their own spaces. It was so nice to be able to consult a designer for selection choices and know they would fit together well. We met with a few contractors, but D&G really wowed us initially with their approach. I've built a house in the past and had a project manager who was not on top of detail and it was a painful and labor intensive process from my side to get what I wanted. With D&G the team was on top of it from the initial presentation to the final touches. They have a very prescribed approach and dedicated personnel. Our overall process took almost a year from the first meeting, to laying out designs and agreeing on all sides to what we wanted. The actual construction process was approximately 4 months (Dec 1 to March 31). This included an entire demolition of a finished basement and rebuild from the concrete up for approximately 1,500 square feet. Darren and team were fantastic almost the entire way through. 98% of the project ran extremely smoothly and the few hiccups we had we were able to work through generally to my satisfaction. They are definitely not the cheapest game in town but if you want to hire a contractor and get the job done right without having to micro-manage everything, this is your team. I've heard multiple horror stories from neighbors and friends about construction projects and companies that are just downright dishonest and don't produce quality work. D&G stands out in terms of their work ethic, attention to detail, management of subcontractors, and final quality delivery. Our project turned out EXACTLY how we wanted it and completed on time, based on a timeline they provided 2 months before construction even started! Couldn't be happier with the end result and we've already knocked the socks off everyone who has come by to enjoy our new basement!

D&G was great to work with for our first big renovation project. We worked with them to redo our entire first floor, and they made the process smooth. In a COVID world of material delays, they thought ahead and waited to demo until all the materials were in their warehouse, meaning we never had significant delays. The work they did is beautiful, and even when minor issues did arise due to subcontractors painting rooms the wrong color, for example, they were quick to get them back out and put things right. We had communication through the whole process with multiple people, including Darren (the owner), and the in house designer Maddie was always open to helping me make selections. Having her there to give me 3 or 4 options to pick from in our price range really helped the decision making process and she had great ideas. Terri was our project manager and she was great, she made us feel very in the loop and even made best friends with our dog. I would recommend them and will use them again if we ever have another project!

My wife and I recently had our basement finished. Choosing the general contractor to do the work was a huge decision. The project was going to be expensive and we were going to have to live with the results for many years to come. Getting it right was super important. In the end, D&G delivered an amazing customer experience and the end product was incredible. Why? - They made us feel like we were their only customer by investing into a relationship with us. - They spent time to understand our goal of creating a space that our kids would want to enjoy with their friends for the time we have remaining with them living at home. - They created value by inviting us to their showroom and helped us to imagine what our living space could be. - They did what they said they were going to do. - They anticipated our needs each step of the way. 2021 Basement finish, approx 2,000 sq. ft. We hired D&G because of their custom finishes and awesome photos of their work. We had some ideas for our basement but D&G took those ideas to another level. We loved the plans that they provided so we acquired a HELOC loan and gave them the go-ahead. Because of the timing of our basement finish (Covid) we had to deal with supply chain issues and busy contractors, but D&G kept the project moving and allowed us to make multiple changes along the way. We’re incredibly happy with our basement finish and would highly recommend D&G Construction.

I am not typically a review writer, but I felt it necessary to tell people about my incredible experience with D&G Construction. I feel like in todays world, finding a trustworthy contractor who will actually follow through with what they promise on the front side, is incredibly difficult to do. I was fortunate enough to find D&G and was blown away with the service and finished product I received. They took my “Cookie Cutter” house and gave it the perfect Custom finish. I was extremely impressed with the trades they have. Each trade that came in for each of the projects were all very polite, very conscientious of my house, and very meticulous in all they did. My experience from the design stage to the day of completion was more seamless than I could have ever imagined. I interviewed a couple different contractors for my project, some of which were quite a bit cheaper than D&G, BUT I chose D&G due to the knowledge they demonstrated in our walk through, and even more for the attention they gave to me as I was making my decision. I felt as though I was their only customer, which made me confident that they would give me exactly what they said. I am so glad I chose to go with the D&G team. They have a customer for life.

D&G Construction finished our basement and from the first phone call we were blown away by the professionalism, knowledge, honesty, and friendliness. They gave us a "rough" estimate of the work that was requested and when we got the final quote the numbers were spot on. The quality of work is amazing. If anything was wrong they were quick to fix it and make it right. They gave us weekly updates and would answer all of our questions quickly. They made the whole process super easy and painless.

We opted to have D&G do our remodel because (1) they answered our inquiry promptly, and (2) they were reasonably priced for Boulder, with no hidden costs. Darren is friendly and had some great ideas for our space. He was very hands on and did some of the work himself. Remodeling is always painful, but we appreciated the customer service D&G provided and the direct line to our project manager (Miranda -- she is wonderful!). Some of the not-so-great things included a changeover in staff early in the project (we started with a different project manager), the rushed selection process for the finishes in the space (only 2 hours to select everything from cabinet colors to paint to countertops to faucets), and the lack of regular communication about our project during the staff changeover. In general, we are very pleased with how the remodel turned out, and we know that D&G will stand by their work. If we had to do it again, we would choose D&G.

We did a full main level remodel of our living room, dining room, study and a complete overhaul of our kitchen. We also changed the front door and painted the entire interior and exterior of the house. It was a huge project with lots of moving parts. This is the second project we have used D&G for, after they did an amazing job on a complete basement renovation. We couldn't be happier with the result. From the design process to the final walk-through, we had great communication from our project manager on time-lines, working being done weekly and check-ins to make sure everything was running smoothly. The end-result is nothing less than extraordinary. The kitchen design is cutting edge and timeless at the same time. The design maximized the use of the space and really turned into a gourmet chef's kitchen. The living room with new floors, a shiplap fireplace wall, a new modern electric fireplace and an oversized mantel really upgraded the space. The best thing about Darren and the D&G team is their customer service. Any time we had a small change or something we didn't feel was quite right they really listened and did their best to find a solution. Even in a time of Covid and supply chain issues, they really pushed to stay on the project timeline. We are looking to do a master bathroom overhaul in the next couple of years. I wouldn't think of using anyone else. From design, quality of materials, quality of craftsmanship and customer service, D&G really is the gold standard.

D&G gutted and remodeled our entire main floor living space including tearing down walls and moving ductwork. The improvements included new flooring, cabinets, countertops, lighting and fixtures, replacing a wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace, new bathroom, shelving, doors and windows. Darren, D&G's owner, personally supervised our project and along with his talented team and excellent subcontractors completed our 14 week project exactly on schedule. Darren was totally involved from start to finish and his work ethic and standard for high quality work was amazing. D&G provided a turn key process from design to finish. Their project software allowed for D&G and us as the owners to be in constant communication with real-time updates on progress and responses to issues as they arose. Now that everything is complete, we love our new (old) home.

This is a much delayed but well earned and deserved 5 star review. Darren and his company were stellar from start finish for our 1700 sq foot basement buildout. This included a hidden bookcase door, wine storage, wetbar, great room with integrated media and, our favorite, the gym. He and his team were excellent about communicating and kept us on budget and were honest upfront about what costs (example: I knew lvp was a must over carpet that was taken into account so other ideas in the budget got trimmed) Also completed ONTIME. No crazy delays or frustrating pauses. We used mostly the “builder” grade level options which in real life look and perform to a much much higher standard in quality and style. And this was all through the height of the pandemic. Sub contractors are excellent at their trades, managers know how to manage and Darren leads them all. Would definitely use again and recommend to anyone!

D&G finished my basement and they were very responsive and helpful with the entire process. They developed a floor plan and helped me to visualize what the final layout would look like. We had 85-90% of our house remodeled and are now getting the outside of our home repainted. They did an amazing job for us so we did not hesitate to call them to do more work for us! They remodeled our kitchen, master bathroom, hardwoods floors on he main level, new carpet upstairs and stairs, repaint, entire inside, and powder bath on main floor. They gave us an amazing pantry in the kitchen which was a dream of mine! All the workers were very conscience and clean. Darren and Gina were so easy to work with especially when we made changes, which WE DID! We also, put new windows in the entire house, an add-on. Everyone in the company we came in contact with was easy to work with and very professional. We would not hesitate to recommend D&G Construction to anyone who needs work done on their home! D&G built in custom shelving for our office and custom seating in our basement. We are so thrilled with how it turned out. We appreciate patience and professionalism of this company, as we had many changes to what we wanted throughout the design process. D&G finished our basement and the end result was nothing les than exceptional. I lost count as to how many compliments I have received about my finished basement. To begin, Darren took my sketch of what I wanted and he genuinely listened to what I wanted. He returned a few days later with his design which was professional drawn and far exceeded my expectations. His ideas were great! He began two weeks later as scheduled and with the exception of just a few days, his crews worked diligently for the two months which followed. Note, there was a lot of details in my basement. Darren was meticulous, available, prompt, communicative and made sure his contractors did an excellent job. I have nothing but praise for D&G and now, I get to enjoy a wonderful basement.

Love, love, love it! I am going to return to D&G for future projects. They did our basement, and the entire process was easy, stress free, and perfect while being ahead of schedule. They built a media room, wet bar area, large office, guest room and full bathroom. They provided a web tool to keep us informed and in the loop. Professional workers all the way around. They worked with us at the beginning of the project to learn all that we wanted, and they helped troubleshoot some problems that finishing an old basement entails. We just completed an extremely smooth and successful basement finish with Darren and team. The end result is better than I could have expected -- very high quality, great design, perfect utilization of the space, etc. Every member of the D&G team was amazing throughout the project -- from office staff, finance, design, field team and subs -- all were extremely professional and knowledgeable. I was pleasantly surprised by the timely and consistent communication throughout the project. I knew what was happening, when and by whom at all times. When changes or issues arose, a plan or resolution was put into place same-day. Darren runs a tight ship and that translates to a pleasant experience for the homeowner. We have used D&G for two unique and successful projects. The first was a major basement finish and D&G managed the entire project from design through completion. They came with a ton of ideas and suggestions. We selected a wide variety of finishes and materials and it all came out better than we ever dreamed. We used D&G a second time for another condominium that needed a refinishing using an entirely different level of material and finish as well as a sense of urgency that the team embraced and met for us. The point I’m making is from my perspective and experience, D&G is really good at meeting and exceeding their customers needs no matter what type of job or level of finish YOU want. I’d use D&G again in a second.

We wouldn't hire D&G back if they offered to remodel our entire home for free. This was a terrible mistake and we regret hiring them immensely. -They lied to us throughout the entire project on multiple occasions. -The owner, Darren Dinkle, cussed both me and my wife out on the phone. He belittled us and even threatened us in regards to a flooring mistake they made. (I HAVE to tell this story. See, our contract with D&G stated we had ordered and paid for RED OAK flooring to match our existing RED OAK flooring. Well, Darren ordered WHITE OAK flooring by accident and had that installed. Hence we had a visible line down the middle of the floor. When we brought it to Darren's attention, this is what he said. "How would you like us to rectify this?" So I respond, "However you choose Darren. You can come in and replace the WHITE OAK flooring with RED OAK like our contract states. Or, you can come in and tear out the little bit of RED OAK we already have, and replace with the WHITE OAK flooring you mistakenly ordered and installed.. Either way is fine with us." Darren's response, "Ok, I will send you an invoice for that!" When i tell him that it's ludicrous for us to pay for his mistake he goes, "If you make D&G come fix the flooring, we will find somewhere in the contract to back charge you for construction delay." We have the entire conversation on recording. In order for us to get what we ordered and PRE PAID for, we had to hire a law firm who specializes in construction problems to intervene. We finally got it rectified after said law firm sent 3 letters to D&G. -the work still isn't completed and this kitchen project was started in May 2019. Its now December 2019. -We caught the workers from D&G doing a #2 in our 4yo daughter's bathroom. NOTE: We have a huge. blue Port-A-Let sitting in front of our home in the driveway. I have pictures of the guy on her toilet. Again, this was a terrible mistake. D&G is way too big for their britches. They are overwhelmed and understaffed. They took on so much business that we came last on the list when it came to completion and their workmanship was shotty at best. We considered this a huge learning experience. Don't gravitate to the ones with the biggest advertising. Bigger does not necessarily mean better Scope of work: $70K kitchen remodel.

We sincerely value all client reviews and we welcome each client’s opinion. We are sorry that you feel resentment towards your experience with D&G. It is never our intent to have a client not feel fulfilled. We are rather shocked to read this and were unaware of these feelings as we successfully closed out your project a few months ago and have recently been in communication with you for some warranty items. Since the review has been posted we have made several attempts to connect with you about this with no successful return call. We do feel a bit blindsided and feel we have an obligation to respond to your comments.

Your project has always been very important to us and our team. The pictures show how stunning it turned out. However, we are all human, and we accept that on occasion there can and will be uncontrollable differences with clients. Despite any differences with your project the D&G team continued to work hard to complete your project even when there were delays not caused by D&G. D&G did not and does not have any personal vindictive towards you. While working through all of your requests, D&G provided various solutions and continued to be flexible, open minded and work with you even when it was difficult to satisfy your requests. We did answer all questions and addressed all concerns with any corrections. All of these were completed promptly and within the contract timeline as well as at no additional cost to you. We also kindly elected not to apply any substantial late fees, finance charges, trip charges or additional change order charges that per the contract could have been applied.

Although we did have differences, completing your project was still top priority for D&G. We feel this is evident as we completed your project per the scope of work, on-time per contract and then, in return, you completed payments. D&G was not aware of any correspondents from attorneys during or after the project completion. That being said, we always advise our clients to read their contracts thoroughly. It is very important to not only have a contract with a contractor, but also to truly understand its terms and conditions.

D&G’s core values remain to finish any project we start, and we never have any other intention but to produce a good experience for a client and a space they’ll love for years to come. We sincerely regret that our immense efforts to satisfy you did not result in your complete satisfaction.

D&G has been serving our community for many years and we take reviews personally. Truth to a review is vital as we are people who live and support the community we live in too. We respectfully disagree with your review and the validity of your comments. And we are not ashamed of our conduct or with the quality of work on this project. While we cannot change our differences, we can provide an open door to invite you to tender the relationship if you wish to do so. Our door is always open and we are available if you would like to resolve anything outside of this platform.

We hired D&G to install brand new hardwood floors in our home. We had existing flooring in our entryway and Darren was able to flawlessly match the existing flooring and pattern. The entire first floor was transformed and we could not be happier with the result. I was very impressed with the wonderful communication we received throughout the project. The price was great and he kept us updated on the progress throughout the entire process. My wife was very pleased with the work as well as how well the crew cleaned up after each and every day! I highly recommend this wonderful local, family-owned company!

We spent a good amount of time interviewing different contractors and designers, and ultimately chose D&G for several reasons: 1) we liked their design style (clean and modern), 2) they had an in house design team that worked hand in hand with the construction team, and 3) they were confident they could hit the completion date they proposed. But after working with them for a while, we realized that it was the team itself that was the differentiator. Everyone that we worked with from Darren to Nate and Mike was friendly, knowledgable, and treated our home like it was theirs. D&G was not the cheapest, and maybe not the fastest of the options we considered, but we are completely happy with working with them because of the reasons I listed above. I would recommended them to any of my friends, family and colleagues.

D&G is the gold standard for basement remodels! From the beginning consultation to the final walk-through, they went above and beyond to deliver our wishlist on budget. Darren's expertise and attention to detail is impeccable, and his support staff is top notch. We converted a cookie cutter basement will small rooms, to an open concept basement, with wet bar, media room, ping pong game area, and custom built finishes including a sport memorabilia wall, with custom glass shelves for footballs. We remodeled the basement bathroom while we were down there. It's now the best bathroom in the house. I really cant' say enough... they delivered our basement ahead of schedule, on budget, and it turned out better than I ever dreamed. The biggest compliment I can give is that we didn't even really feel like we were going through a remodel. They made the process so easy and the results were so good, we are already thinking about our next project with D&G!

D & G is a cut above the rest. I did a thorough search and many interviews before deciding on D & G to finish my basement, install new carpet throughout the house and upgrade existing bathrooms. Darren asked me what I wanted, explained everything in detail and showed me renderings before starting the project. They were extremely organized, knowledgeable, timely, did not cut corners and put customer satisfaction first. Their employees went above and beyond for me, Nate always answered my constant questions and Camille explained the reasons for design issues I questioned. The sub-contractors were conscientious and polite. They even went through the basement window well so they didn’t have to disturb me by coming and going through the front door. Remodeling is stressful no matter what, but D & G did everything possible to reduce that stress and I’m very thankful. The price I paid was worth every penny and more. I’m so pleased with the finished product and highly recommend them to anyone looking to remodel. If I ever decide to build a house, I’m going to use D & G!

We were looking for a general contractor for a 700 sq. ft. partial basement finish. After getting quotes from over a half a dozen contractors, we ended up choosing D&G because they were one of the most aggressively priced bids we received. We are VERY satisfied with the final product. Nate (project manager) and JEN kept us up to date and were pleasant to work with. Our basement turned out amazing! We had D&G finish our basement and once we saw the amazing work they do we kept them going on the main floor of our new home taking down walls, moving doors, revamping bathrooms. They patched the wood floor where a wall once was and it looks seamless. Construction in the home can be very disruptive but they made the process so smooth and clean! Will use them again in the future!

We had an "in home" consultation, which included measurements and discussion of many design ideas for remodeling our kitchen. We were told D & G needed a week or so to develop the design plans and would get back in touch with us to set up the next meeting at their office to review the plans. Three weeks later, after many emails and phone calls, we were told they were too busy, not interested in doing our project, and would no longer be remodeling kitchens. This just didn't make sense as we were extremely flexible and open to waiting until they could get to our project. This was beyond poor business practice and extremely unprofessional! We were misled and it was a complete waste of our time!

With all of the horror stories out there when hiring a contractor, ultimately choosing one became a very easy decision for us. After briefly visiting with Darren in the unfinished space, it was clear that his "vision" far surpassed that of anyone else that we had researched or from whom we accepted bids. From start to finish Darren and his crew kept us up to date on everything we should expect as well as welcoming our recommendations on the fly! We could have never expected what we received from the finished product. I would recommend Darren and his entire team to ANYONE looking for a superior finish......Not to mention, they not only finished on time and budget, but about 4 weeks early. Definitely a bonus for us and the job was worth every penny!

As my daughters and I made the bold move from a roomy 3200 square feet to a pinched 1700 ranch (the view is amazing) I knew I'd need someone to finish our full basement immediately. In my quest for the perfect contractor, I was determined to find a group of people who were efficient, knowledgeable, creative, dependable, honest and would treat my project as if it were their own. Did I mention 3 girls? We desperately needed this space and I wanted nothing short of amazing! The moment I met with Darren I was impressd with his professionalism, willingness to hear and see my vision and loved his personal excitement for my project. I knew immediacy that D&G was the right fit for me. My confidence in his ability to develop my concept into a real, functional and amazing living space was solidified with his expansive knowledge and clear communication throughout our entire project and I was never less than impressed with every encounter. My fun and exciting experience with D&G contibued when I met with Camille to make design choices and selections. She has a broad understating and keen eye for design to guide you in creating your dream space. As I met with both Darren and Camille to review plans, I was given the ability to see my project in 3D and make adjustments, add ideas and solidify all aspects of the design. It was nothing short of amazing. Billing was a cinch with online payment options and clear descriptions of what was being paid for each time. The girls ran screaming into the basement as soon as we got the C/O, and are thrilled (by as much as me though!) I don't know how many people could make the claim that their basement finish was a fun and exciting process, but we sure can. We ended up with a space that was far beyond our expectations in quality and design, and it was all taken care of by people who truly treat you as though you are highly valued and important to them.

We have had an idea for what our house should look like for 9 years now. D&G remodeled our home. Gina and Darren are very professional and have redesigned my kitchen. They have an eye for what to do with any space. We recently used D&G Construction to complete wood floors with pre-existing floors in our home. From the beginning, everyone on the D&G team was professional, courteous and was always available to answer our questions. When it was time for the install, they worked with our schedule and even completed our project early. In July of 2015 I had a creative vision: Do a complete and major remodel, and finish the lower level of a dated 2500 sq. ft. condo, and give it the feel and quality of a high-end custom home.
