I'm so happy to write a recommendation for Neil / Dezign Blue. Neil was the glue that really helped put our whole kitchen together! There was no way we could have made a functional IKEA kitchen without Neil’s help. He came over in person to measure our space and quickly sent over several different kitchen layouts.
After some gracious design edits, he met us at IKEA to show us all of our different options from drawer types, shelves, all the way down to the lighting and hardware. He was never pushy and really let our vision shine through.
Neil definitely made such an overwhelming project a lot easier. Along with Neil, his suggested cabinet builder, MC Woodworks, and custom cabinet fronts from Modern Twig were spot on. The amount of money you will actually save going with Dezign Blue is worth it!

We highly recommend Dezign Blue for any design project. Neil is extremely helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. We definitely could not have done this project without him. He and his team are professional, easy to reach and responsive. They are meticulous with detail. He also has recommendations and connections with other contractors, builders, painters, etc which saved us time and money.
I can't emphasize this enough - he has truly been a pleasure to work with.

Working with Neil was fantastic from beginning to end. We had a lot of delays and adjustments we had to make during the construction and Neil was always available to help. I strongly recommend him!

We remodeled a 1960s kitchen with Ikea cabinets. It was a down-to-the-studs remodel with new plumbing, electrical and flooring. The project took over two years to finish. Neil was incredibly helpful and patient. We went through several iterations of the design before we settled on the final plan. Neil met us in Ikea and helped us get some of the details right like what drawers to choose. There's no way we could have done the planning without him. Definitely a great experience.

Using DezignBlue was one of my best renovation decisions! Neil was amazing to work with - incredibly knowledgeable about the product line, great advice, flexible schedule/availability (including on short notice when my contractor and I had install questions). Highly recommend!

The word 'amazing' might be a bit overused, but Neil at Dezign Blue is truly amazing. My kitchen was 43 years old, builder grade, and original to the house. I knew it needed a renovation and had some ideas but just didn't know where or how to begin. Neil came over, got a feel for the space, asked a few questions about how I wanted to use it, etc., and then emailed me the first plan a few days later. He was so patient as we went through various iterations of the plan. It took about 7 times. Then we went to Ikea to look at various items and for Neil to finalize the plan. Just so you know, Neil knows more about Ikea kitchen items than anyone at Ikea. Neil did all of the ordering. I have Ikea "boxes" and Semihandmade fronts. He did the Ikea order and the Semihandmade order. Then, he followed the orders and did any troubleshooting along the way, with items that were on backorder. He also recommended the cabinet painter (because I got DIY Semihandmade fronts, so I could custom paint them), the contractor (who was also fabulous) and the cabinet installer. They were all professional and really great people with whom to work. But, Neil was the lynchpin. He designed a layout that is beautiful and functional. There is a place for everything. I love my kitchen and really don't think the smooth renovation would have been possible if not for Neil. I have a pretty good sense of people and feel that in addition to his sense of space and kitchen renovation skills, he is a good person. He is the first person you should call if you are planning to renovate your kitchen. I give him my highest recommendation!

Working with Neil on our kitchen renovation was a great experience, and we highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and responsive. He spent a lot of time with us at the job site, and at Ikea. He made us feel like we were a priority. He was quick to give us the initial designs, and also with subsequent follow up options. Because of his years of experience, he was able to incorporate our ideas with what was possible and what would be the most functional. Hiring Neil was the best decision, and we will do it again.

We started renovating our entire house in late 2019 and hired Neil for our kitchen and office design. He was fantastic from the start. He was very responsive on email, listened to your needs, changed the designs to fit our tastes (sometimes more than I want to admit). He wanted to get everything right, and it was appreciated! Having him navigate the IKEA order, alone, is worth every penny as it is not as an intuitive process as IKEA would like to think! He met with me at the store and went over all the features and ordered all the parts, which made the process so much easier (as it's easy to oversee a corner piece, basket, bracket, etc).
On top of his usual awesomeness, our project was in the middle of construction during the COVID shut down in March 2020. He helped us with every step of the way: He scheduled contactless installations, helped me with questions when my contractor was not around during the shutdown, checked that we had all the correct pieces ordered and scheduled delivery. Furthermore, he let me put the office on hold due to a multitude of reasons and later helped complete it when the timing worked out. Between all the supply shortages, labor shortages and everything in between, he's been incredible to work with every step of the way.
I can't speak high enough about Neil. I recommended him to a few friends and they loved him, too. He will be my go to for any future projects.

Finding Neil and DEZiGN BLuE was the best stroke of luck. Neil designed our kitchen and laundry room and made design suggestions we would have never thought of and they were SPOT ON what our kitchen/laundry needed to be more functional. He was so patient, made multiple iterations as we tweaked things, was super fast/responsive, went to Ikea with us to build out the order, and tracked the order and out of stock items for us throughout the project. He also helped us source matching shelves from another company because the Ikea ones were perpetually out of stock. We could have paid him triple what he charges and it still would have been the best value of our whole project. Our kitchen feels bigger, more functional, and is now an enjoyable place to be in our home rather than a stressful one. On top of that, both the general contractor and cabinet builder he recommended were amazing. We've repeatedly recommended all three to our friends and neighbors.

Hiring DezignBlue to design my kitchen remodel was the best decision I made in the entire, protracted process. Neil listened carefully to what I wanted to accomplish with this project and worked with me over several iterations to arrive at a design that would meed my goals. He was invaluable in purchasing materials and assisted in dealing with the delays and other problems associated with suppliers. He recommended a contractor who was competent to carry out the remodel. At every step in this process, Neil was responsive, courteous, and knowledgeable. He stepped in that ironed out snarls throughout the process. His skills and assistance were a huge factor in the project's success.

We are so happy with our experience working with Neil! He was super knowledgeable and helped maximize our tiny kitchen by advising on how we would modify IKEA cabinets to fit the space and our needs. After talking through a few different layout options, he sent 3 different layout plans, and after narrowing to our favorite he helped us tweak until it was just right. Meeting him at IKEA was very helpful, and he walked us through all the different selections we needed to make, and helped to ensure the order for correct and complete. He went above and beyond by checking all the local IKEA stores to find missing cabinet parts since there was a shortage. In addition, he had great contacts for a cabinet installer and cabinet painter, and was able to help with our order from Semihandmade as well. We're beyond thrilled with how our kitchen turned out, and highly recommend working with Neil.

A very good friend recommended Neil to me. I had never used a designer before. I’m super happy that I did. Neil drove all the way from southern Ca to Merced to see the kitchen and take measurements. I wanted a more open kitchen with an island. He gave me recommendations and sent several designs that I reviewed. We communicated through email and text. He was super helpful in making sure I had everything I needed from IKEA. I could not have done this without him. His knowledge and expertise helped make the process go so smoothly. He was always available to answer questions and check on the status of the supplies. Thank you so much Neil. I love my new kitchen!

Neil met me at my old awful 80's-era kitchen, took
measurements, and drew up 3 designs. We
worked together to get exactly what I wanted.
Since the space was so small, every drawer and
every door was thought out. Neil made
recommendations that I had never even thought
of since, again, I have never designed a kitchen
before. He turned the fixes around super fast and
we nailed down the design in just a few days. We
then met up at IKEA to place the order in person,
walking through the list again and checking for
errors. I'm sure I would have mis-ordered had I
tried to do it myself since there are 8,586 things
to order individually, but he double-checked
everything. Then, since I was stupid enough to
remodel a kitchen during the pandemic kitchen
cabinet shortage of 2021, Neil tirelessly worked
with me to track every item on the order that was
out of stock, both online and in-person. I could
not have ordered an IKEA kitchen on my own, and
only through working with Neil could I execute
the kitchen I wanted. Thank you, Neil!

I was astonished with the design ideas I got from DezignBlue! Neil's creative eye found ways to improve my kitchen in ways I didn't think possible. He was careful and meticulous in his measuring and planning, responsive to all of my questions throughout the remodel process and went above and beyond to make our kitchen amazing! I really appreciated him sending over several designs and his patience when I wanted to tweak things here and there. I cannot recommend DezignBlue enough and will make sure ANYONE I know embarking on an update/remodel of any part of their house knows about this awesome company.

We worked with Neil at DezignBlue to remodel our horrible original 1966 kitchen. For one flat fee Neil measured our kitchen, provided several excellent designs for us to choose from that matched our style and needs, walked us through the ordering process in-store at IKEA, referred us to top notch installers and product suppliers, helped us navigate challenging, pandemic-related IKEA delivery delays, and quickly responded to email. I addition to being a wonderful designer, he is professional and extremely patient. We now have a beautiful kitchen thanks to Neil. He is a gem and I highly recommend him.

Neil at DezignBlue is a first class designer, easy to work with and a nice person overall. As a business own myself, I know nobody could have got the parts intallation going any faster-- it's simply a fact of the pandemic, so I would not detract any stars for those things beyond the control of the designer. My project got done eventually, and I'm extremely happy with it!
The details: During the pandemic, I wanted to remodel my office with built-in desktop & lots of storage cabinets. After much research, I settled on Ikea cabinets as the most versitile and economical option and I knew designing and installing myself was beyond me. I actually found DezignBlue as a recommended designer/ installer on the Semihandmade website, a company who specializes in custom cabinet & drawer fronts for Ikea cabinets to give a custom look (In the end, we used off-the-shelf Ikea components).
I'm in San Diego, and Neil at DezignBlue was in LA, but he came here in-person during the pandemic for a reasonable fee to get the lay-of the land and take measurments. Upon returning to LA, he worked out a schematic on the Ikea website and we went back and forth via email with a few changes/ options until I was happy.
Unfortunatly, at that point, we had to deal with waiting a long time for out-of-stock components from Ikea and also installer availability, as tradesmen were out sick, leaving the state, etc, which was no fault of Neil's/ Dezign Blue. By this point we all knew what the supply chain and labor force were facing, so all there was to do is be patient. After several months, all Ikea components had finally been delivered to my home. My own San Diego general contractor became available before any of Neil's did, and his crew was able to install as per Neil's designs. Neil made himself available to answer and any all questions from myself and my contractor and everything came out beautifully. I highly recommend Neil and DezignBlue if you are anywhere in SoCal!
PS ignore the unfinished window frame in the pics-- my husband is still working on that as we had to change the window.

As a member of the Design community for over 20 years with my professional experience ranging from whole house renovations, home staging as well as a multitude of design consults I've seen it all. When I moved into my Hancock Park residence in LA I interviewed a few companies but Dezign Blue stood out in their professionalism, value and ability to elevate and complete somewhat complex design challenges. Dezign Blue did a gut renovation on my main kitchen as well as my Master Suite Kitchenette in my Hancock Park residence almost 10 years ago with stunning results which we enjoyed until our next residence change.
When we moved this year to Miami and began another gut renovation, I hired a local company to help with the kitchen planning and things didn't go smoothly. On a whim, I contacted Dezign Blue and spoke with my point of contact Neil to see if he could help in anyway even being 3000 miles away. While I was expecting at best a referral miraculously he had an amazing installer in Florida. Neil was able to review and troubleshoot the plans the original person I hired had messed up. At almost 300 square feet, this new kitchen was a bit of a challenge with many custom elements and all built-in appliances. Neil was able to revise cabinetry as well as fillers to accommodate a 48 inch Sub-Zero Fridge, Two Miele Cabinet Front Dishwashers, a Miele Coffee System, Speed oven as well as a Miele Convection oven and achieved the seamless modern look I was aiming for. I would highly recommend Dezign Blue my clients as well as anyone looking for truly custom cabinet work.
Working with Neil is easy and efficient. He knows his craft extremely well and is simply the best. He is able to problem solve at a moments notice and is generous with his time and efforts to ensure that each project he takes on is up to his high standards. When we purchase our next property, Neil will be an integral part of the team.

We have worked with Neil on the remodeling of our bathrooms and kitchen and could not be more pleased with the result. Neil knows the details of almost every piece Ikea makes and how it can configure to your space. He helped us make some critical decisions with our layout and how to maximize space. Neil at DezignBlue was so very helpful in the implementation of my kitchen remodel. Neil came out to my home and measured the space, and listened to my ideas and needs for my new kitchen. He gave me lots of kitchen layout options, and happily updated the kitchen plan as I changed things or when we came up with different solutions. The kitchen turned out amazing in the end, we used the IKEA cabinet backs with the SemiHandmade cabinet fronts, and I couldn't love it more. Thank you Neil, for your guidance and expertise, you helped make our kitchen design process seamless and it turned out beautiful! I would highly recommend Neil for your kitchen projects!

The team at Dezign Blue are experts in IKEA kitchens. I have built many of them for remodels over the years, but Neil really made the design process simpler and gave us an immediate visual to our new space. Due to his deep working knowledge of the product, he was able to suggest great solutions to various odd requests we gave him!

I couldn’t have tackled an IKEA kitchen without Neil. We renovated our entire house and I was the (amateur) designer, with no professional help. I tell everyone that the best money I spent on our reno was the money spent on Neil. Not only did he make the process of purchasing at IKEA easy (trust me, it is not), but he introduced me to the wide array of cabinet facade-makers and acted as the middleman throughout my entire project. He also drew up all of the plans so my contractors knew exactly what to do. I feel that Neil went well above-and-beyond what he was hired to do and I am so very grateful to him for all of his help.

We highly recommend Neil. We did a complete kitchen remodel, replacing all of the old cabinetry with IKEA cabinets. For one flat fee, Neil did the following:
- He came to the house, met with us, did all of the measurements
- He gave us 4 designs to start with
- When we chose a design, he worked with us on several iterations to get it exactly the way we wanted
- He helped us budget all of the IKEA items
- He met us at the IKEA to order all of the items, and helped us figure out workarounds when the exact items weren't available
- He hooked us up with a great IKEA installation specialist

Neil is the encyclopedia of all things IKEA, without his knowledge and expertise of ordering and designing our IKEA kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, Semihandmade.com fronts, the process would have been daunting. With Neil at the order desk with us, everything was easy peasy, smooth as pie. He ordered every nut, screw, bolt, and track light that was needed. He was able to tip us off to discounts that we would have missed out on. We also loved the fact that he improved our kitchen layout by switching the direction of the island, making our kitchen bigger and more functional. Ikea lost our order during delivery, and he was able to point us to the right people to find our order. The installers he referred to us was very good and experience with the IKEA cabinet complexity, since everything had to be assemble straight from the box. Overall, if you're looking to utilize IKEA anything in your house, call Neil first to help you design the layout. His rates are reasonable, and will be the best money you will spend on the renovation project.

If you’ve ever thought about getting an IKEA kitchen but weren’t sure where to start, your first step should be to call Neil and DezignBlue. He guided us through the entire process and made it so much easier. He went to IKEA with us to handle the ordering, and he even tipped us off to some discounts and price adjustments. I was referred to Neil by a friend of mine who said “you must hire Neil, he knows everything about Ikea and has the best guys to do all the work” so I did.
Best decision. I still can’t wrap my mind around all he did for such a reasonable price. He came to my house, took measurements, listened intuitively to what I wanted, executed it with multiple design changes, met me at Ikea at 8:30 in the morning and made the ordering process go seamless, he connected me with demo/construction and great installers. All for one price. I could not be happier. Do yourself a favor and hire Neal to make your kitchen happen!

I hired Neil and DezignBlue for an Ikea/Semihandmade kitchen remodel and I can't recommend him enough. His ingenious design tripled the cabinet space. He was meticulous with fine details and even planned how the drawers should be organized. Once the design was finalized, he accompanied us to Ikea to place the final order of not just cabinets, but also lights, bins, and organizers. Then he coordinated with Semihandmade to place our order for custom doors and trim. If you're looking to do a complete kitchen remodel, do yourself a favor and don't DIY. Hire DezignBlue.

We brought DezignBlue in to help us design a new kitchen, garage and laundry during our remodel. Neil worked with us tirelessly through multiple iterations and changes with a spectacular end result. We are extremely happy with the outcome and will definitely be bringing him in for our next project.

I have worked with Neil twice. Both times have been extremely positive. The first project he helped us with was designing our kitchen. We went through 18 different variations (over a few months) before its final approval. I was appreciative of him being there for all those steps. Let me start out by saying that Neil knows his stuff and working with him was easy and stress free. He traveled 2 hours out of Los Angeles to our home to give us our consultation on our kitchen design, he took care of setting up things with the installer and the only thing we had to do was go with him to IKEA to pick out what we wanted for the kitchen. Dezign Blue is a truly essential service for anyone looking to remodel their kitchen using IKEA cabinets. Neil was exceptionally helpful through all the planning steps in the remodel process.
We had a fairly complicated kitchen and laundry room cabinet plan and used IKEA boxes with semi-custom fronts so required coordinating amongst many different parties. Neil provided much needed expertise, developing the IKEA renderings, consulting on all the nuances of cabinet design features, and working through the iterations of design with the installer to ensure that the order would provide a feasible final product. I couldn't imagine having successfully completed this project without the assistance of Dezign Blue. Thanks Neil!

From the first time we met Neil all the way through to the end of the project we were thrilled with his knowledge of the product and ability to made it fit our requirements. I doubt anyone else could have worked with the installers to modify cabinets and have the finished product look like it came right out of the show room. He was with us every step of the way. Drove 100 miles to our home for the initial consultation and spent 3 hours with us at IKEA building the order sheet for the over 1300 parts required for our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. We would not hesitate to use him again .

Once we decided we wanted an Ikea kitchen, we felt overwhelmed with steps and options. Contracting with Neil with was one of the best decisions we made in the entire process. From the first email interaction, through the 12th design revision, Neil was quick to reply and incredibly knowledgeable. Our project was a kitchen remodel. I interviewed 5 designers for my project and choose Niel as I found him very detailed oriented. He was always available, never upset with the 6 design changes my wife and I subjected him to, and most of all was always helpful. Our project came out amazing!! I would highly recommend DezignBlue if you are looking for a professional that is knowledgable, high work quality, and can meet deadlines and budget.

they provided ikea kitchen design and support throughout. Looking back I could not have done it without their support, considering I did not have a contractor to manage the project. There were a few minor "kinks" during the process, but nothing major.. Neil knows his stuff, and the cabinet installer he recommended - MC Woodwork - is outstanding...
word of caution: double check your ikea delivery order when you receive it (as you will get tens of boxes) against your receipt and the packing slip that comes with the delivery company as the order may be incomplete. That can kill your ability to meet your deliverables, especially if the labor you contract cant make new dates as result of deliverables set-backs... the delivery company is sub-contracted and for incomplete orders you have to deal with ikea directly (that was a pain)...

The kitchen in our Palm Springs condo was very small, dark and claustrophobic. Neil came up with a totally new layout that combined the kitchen with the adjacent utility room and removed the upper portion of the wall between the kitchen living/eating area. The result is spectacular. Not only is the kitchen aesthetically pleasing, it is much more functional and so much more open. We now have a constant stream of neighbors coming over to see this kitchen.
Neil’s knowledge of Ikea’s kitchen systems is impressive. He knows all the tricks, the various adjustments that can be made, and properly designs in the little features that make a big difference, like drawers within drawers.
Lastly, Neil works through the ordering process with you, which I’m sure saved what likely would have been countless additional trips to Ikea. I highly recommend DEZiGNBLuE.

Neil was a breeze to work with. I contacted Neil to help me design my IKEA kitchen. I was relocating my kitchen to another area of my house and he was generous enough to help me figure out my new floor plan which included a kitchen, bedroom, laundry area and bathroom which was a lot more than I waa expecting. I wasnt the easiest client to work with, as I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but he remained patient with me throughout the process. He was very quick to come up with the initial designs and any revisions that I needed. I loved that he knew the ins and outs of IKEA cabinets and suggested reconfigurations to get me the functions that I needed. I love my kitchen and its functionality.

I just finished a complete remodel of our 1952 galley kitchen and laundry room in Lakewood, CA. It's beautiful, modern and functional, beyond my expectations. Neil came to my home and designed the layout of the IKEA cabinets for the kitchen and pantry. He was by my side when I purchased them showing me all my options that I was not aware of and I came in under budget. Neil was always available by mobile or email when the contractors or I had questions during installation. I recommend him highly.

Neil did an excellent job designing our kitchen -- he had great advice, and made recommendations that were very helpful as we decided to use Semihandmade doors with IKEA cabinets. He knows every IKEA kitchen item backwards and forwards and is on a first name basis with all the IKEA kitchen employees, so this makes ordering day a painless experience. I can't imagine having done this by myself and it was worth every penny to have Neil walk me through the process. I am blown away by how nice our kitchen looks and it's wonderful to cook in. Neil also designed our Pax walk in closet system and I love that too.

We hired Neil to help with our home remodel, specifically to sort our kitchen and laundry areas, and if you read no further know that we are beyond happy with the results and that, really, I’m not sure how we would have completed our project without him. The remodel was being done as part of a project for a magazine feature, so the expectations with regards to quality and aesthetics couldn’t have been higher. We had a complete kitchen teardown, right to the studs. Neil showed up while the place was a disaster zone and took careful measurements, then he provided an array of kitchen layout options to us online, 3D renderings that helped us to visualize the finished product. We went back and forth a few times, tweaking the designs, and he was patient, professional and fast during the entire process. As valuable: he met us at IKEA and sorted the ordering process, which is intense. Following that, he recommended an install contractor who was fantastic as well. Now completed, the kitchen looks amazing and, after a year of living with it, I can say that the functionality is absolutely fantastic. Neil’s “insider” advice on various components and options was invaluable, making us aware of possibilities we otherwise would not have imagined. Considering the price point, it’s a “no brainer” as far as my wife and I are concerned. In the end, I can’t imagine having completed the remodel without him and I can’t imagine a better kitchen. A fantastic guy who does great work. Not a single complaint.

Neil did a fantastic job designed our kitchen last year. We had purchased a mid-century modern house and the entire kitchen needed to be gutted. Neil came over and took measurements, and gave his feedback. Then, provided us with various options and designs. He was open to feedback and we kept dialoguing until we came up with the perfect design. The project turned out fabulous and I can't recommend Neil highly enough.

Neil @ DezignBlue was an enormous asset to our kitchen remodel. We had a contractor for the remodel but we wanted to use Ikea cabinets. Neil was very accomodating in helping us realize our desired layout and in navigating the Ikea order which was quite involved. We had our Ikea cabinet doors created by a great company called Scherr's in ND and Neil was instrumental in our conversations back and forth ensuring all our doors were cut to spec. He made himself available though the entire process and was a pleasure to work with. I recommend him highly.

Before we renovated our kitchen, we brought in all kinds of consultants to help us build the layout and design. From architects to contractors and designers, no one was able to give us what we wanted within the budget we had. Until Neil came along. Once we decided we wanted to go with Ikea cabinets, Neil, brought with him an unmatched knowledge of their products and worked with us to develop multiple layouts which he helped us refine into our dream kitchen. He even suggested ideas on how to rework/customize Ikea's line to make it fit our space perfectly.
Working with Neil was such a pleasure and I highly reccommend his services to anyone looking to redo their kitchen.

We would not recommend using Neil Wilson at Dezign Blue. We hired Neil via our own kitchen designer to arrange for the ordering of our IKEA kitchen cabinets. The project wasn’t complicated – the cabinets were basic, floor-to-ceiling cabinets – but Neil made several mistakes on the measurements, and the wrong size cabinets were delivered to our home. This resulted in a several week delay on the project, and we incurred additional delivery charges from IKEA, which Neil did not reimburse. Because we were using a different company to supply our cabinet fronts, and they relied on Neil’s mistaken measurements, their cabinet fronts were wrong too and they had to start from scratch, resulting in further delays and expense for us.
While anyone can make mistakes, Neil’s lack of professionalism in responding to our complaints and owning up to his mistakes really stands out. Basically, Neil did nothing. He did not respond to our emails or phone calls when we pointed out his mistake, he refused to reimburse us for our additional expenses, and – most egregiously – he never acknowledged his error or apologized for it, until very late in the process. We can and do work with other contractors who make mistakes, but those contractors generally put the customer first and do their best to make things right. Neil does not, and we strongly regret using Dezign Blue for this reason.

I was hired via another kitchen designer, for whom I have the most respect, who brought me into the project to convert your drawings in IKEA sized cabinetry. This project, done via email to and from New York, started nearly 3 years ago. During this process, 172 emails back and forth were shared and the order was "confirmed" several times. Each time the designs were confirmed, I took the designs up to my local IKEA, asked the IKEA co-workers to convert the approved designs into a Shopping List, each time having to double check the correct frames, shelving, drawers, legs, railings, hinges, etc. This process, as most people know, can easily take 2-3 hours. At that point, I would collect that Shopping List, and then send it to your wife, who was my email contact. Then months later I would hear from her again, and the process would start all over again. Not all of our correspondence was directly between your wife and myself. Often it was between your wife and the other Kitchen Designer, then I would be notified of another change order by the Kitchen Designer, and proceed from that point. With some of the correspondence going through the kitchen designer, this may have come across to you as me not responding immediately to your comments/concerns and I do apologize for this.
I agree that somewhere along the way, the pantry wall of cabinetry was increased in height to the taller 90" cabinet frames. Once the FINAL order was finally processed, the taller frames were on the order. I do apologize now, as I did before in writing, that I missed this, and have done what I can to help rectify the situation. The moment this was brought to my attention, I stepped up and provided all needed information to you and your wife on how and what needed to be done to rectify the exchange of cabinet frames. From what I hear, you now have a beautiful kitchen that cost you an additional delivery fee from IKEA. And, although you did ask me for compensation for the ordering error beyond the delivery fee, I did bring to your attention that not only did you take years to finalize the designs, but the continually "finalizing" of the designs cost me several additional, unpaid, trips to IKEA, to re-create and reorder your kitchen cabinets.

Neil was worth well more than what he charged! My husband is pretty creative and I am very obsessive when it comes to all things pertaining to my kitchen since it is where I live, breathe, cook and eat. I am a cook and quite recently my kitchen was permitted under Class B in the Cottage Industry (California) and Neil's layout of my kitchen impressed my inspector! I have designed and remodeled five kitchens over the years but the micro galley in my new-to-me had me flummoxed. Until, that is, I connected with Neil Wilson at DezignBlue. Neil made every inch of this 7 X 9-foot space work overtime and even converted a superfluous nearby closet into a pantry which takes much of the burden of storage off the kitchen proper. If I could give Neil 1 million stars I would-seriously. He was by FAR one of the best, one of the most cost effective, and definitely the wisest decisions... I made when deciding to move forward with an IKEA kitchen remodel that called for custom fronts (doors and drawer fronts were custom and not from Ikea). Not only did he take my design concept to a whole-nother-level of amazing, he was a plethora of knowledge from start to finish and every decision in between. He never hesitated or got intimidated by all of my OCD tendencies and my long Pinterest wish list of must haves. My kitchen remodel turned out amazing. The original owner (and builder) of our house is also our neighbor and his first impression of the final reveal was that "This is the kitchen that this house was built for". Neil truly knows his stuff inside and out. I would buy another house just to do it all again with Neil. He made the process so streamlined right down to walking into IKEA and handing them in order that took all of 10 minutes to process. I can NOT sing his praises enough. I spoke with 4 of the most recognized designers that do Ikea kitchens with custom fronts and all were nice but none of them offered unlimited revisions. Then I called 3 of the most recognized companies who make the custom fronts and asked them of all the designers they work with-who sends them projects that break the mold and push the boundaries of awesome... time after time... 2 out of 3 said Neil Wilson! So I picked up the phone and called him. There's no question he can't find an answer for and I asked him a LOT of questions- no problem he can't find a solution for. He really is amazing.

Neil is the man with the plan. We used him for our kitchen and both bathrooms. Very easy to work with. Responds promptly to emails and phone calls. He also new all the ins and out for semihandmade. Neil brought insight and creativity into envisioning the kitchen of my dreams on my budget. Without question, I would not have a space as welcome, useful and beautiful without his participation. I'm so delighted that he worked with me, inspected my site and talked through the uses I wanted. He was generous as I sought answers about building standards, lighting and appliance placement. The best decision we made for our kitchen remodel was to hire Neil as our designer. He came up with a bold plan, turning our old kitchen and dining area into to a whole new kitchen area. Our new kitchen is twice as large as before and looks beautiful.
He only charged us a one time fee but worked for us throughout the entire remodel process which lasted about 10 months. He gave us 5 designs the day after his first visit to our place, and made several more changes as our plans evolved. Neil ordered all of the cabinets for us from Ikea and handled all of the returns, all at no extra charge.

Neil used his design skills and IKEA product knowledge to create an amazing living space in a contemporary 1,600 square foot condo.
The design solution that removed a pantry on the end of a kitchen peninsula opened up the entire living space and made the room feel so much larger.
DezignBlue produced kitchen, bathroom and closet solutions that were both beautiful and practical. The finished product is often mistaken for a much higher-end European kitchen.
The IKEA experience would have been too intimidating for me to embark upon alone. With Neil's assistance, the design and ordering process was easy. Neil was always available for follow-up consultations and to liaise with the contractor during installation.
Neil Wilson listens to his clients and is wonderful at incorporating their ideas into the final product.
I highly recommend DezignBlue to anyone contemplating IKEA products for a kitchen, bathroom or closet.

Wow - were we ever lucky to find Neil Wilson. As you can see from the pictures of our kitchen - he does incredible design work. What you can't see is the behind-the-scene ordering logistics that he masterfully handles. AND, the design and ordering for this was done in one day - actually in ~ 8 hours! Amazing - not only did we get a truly stunning and inviting kitchen but we somehow managed to avoid all of the drama and long timeline that so many others report.when re-doing their kitchen. Can't thank Neil enough. Our home is on the market now and I know who we'll be calling as soon as we buy our next one...

Neil Wilson of Dezign Blue does amazing work. We hired him for a kitchen remodel using Ikea materials. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about his products (Ikea and Kraftmaid cabinetry). For a very reasonable fee:
1. Neil came to our house, discussed our needs/ideas, took measurements.
2. He presented a couple of designs, including smart and creative solutions to problems.
3. We selected a design and had it refined to our satisfaction. He was very prompt about revisions.
4. He accompanied us to Ikea to help us order our products and select other materials such as countertops. (This alone was worth his fee!)
5. He checked in with us on installation day to make sure nothing was missing.
6. He did a final walkthrough.
Neil is very thorough and courteous, the ultimate professional. I recommend him without reservation!

The bottom line is that Neil Wilson really wanted our kitchen to be exactly what we wanted. He worked tirelessly and completely on time and budget.
He was available to talk by phone and email when we went in to order our products as well as he was completely available throughout the instillation process.
As a bonus, he was in the Chicagoland area and wanted to come by for a personal visit/consultation and look at the project. WOW!
It is a pleasure to recommend Neil Wilson with our full enthusiasm. If we have the opportunity to do this again or assist a friend, we would not hesitate to get in touch with Neil. You need him- Don't go with anyone else.

Neil has been great to work with on our kitchen remodel design. Being out of state and several time zones away I was a bit hesitant to pay someone who I found online to help us with our design. After one conversation with Neil I was convinced he was the guy to work with and would save us some major headaches and also come up with many more options than the frustrating Ikea kitchen planning software had been allowing. I spoke with Neil and explained what we did and did not like with our current kitchen and what we were trying to achieve. Within just a few days Neil had put together what we had asked for and also provided a few different designs with some new ideas we had not thought of or considered. In the end, we had the basic concept of the layout we wanted but with Neil's expertise and knowledge we gained a lot of additional storage space which was my wife's primary concern. We were then able to move forward with our project with confidence that the design would work and everything would fit correctly (which was a big concern of mine since this was a DIY remodel for us). Neil put together a list of all the Ikea codes for everything we needed so we simply went back to the kitchen department at Ikea and provided them the list which made ordering easy for us and for the Ikea kitchen associate who placed our order. During our project Neil checked in from time to time and reminded me to call him at anytime if there were questions when doing the cabinet install. Due to all of the prep work and previous discussions we had with Neil not one call was required during our project and things went very smooth. I was trying to stick to a tight budget for the project and I have to say that the money spent hiring Neil was worth every penny and one of the best investments we made to ensure we would get the kitchen we really wanted. I hired Neil to help me design an Ikea Kitchen. It started out as a simple replacement of existing cabinets and morphed into a redesign of the kitchen, baths and closets. My project turned out so much better than I envisioned thanks to Neil's suggestions especially for the glass front kitchen cabinets, the design of the microwave/pantry cabinet with drawers and the truly spectacular floor to ceiling Pax closets which are both functional and beautiful. Thanks to Neil, we turned a 1970's townhouse into a modern oasis.

We hired DezignBlue for our kitchen and garage remodel. We were impressed by Neil's professionalism, punctuality, and ability to turn around designs/revisions in a very short time. He has great ideas, can see the potential in a space, and has a deep knowledge of Ikea's products. Highly recommend the company and we would hire them again for additional remodels.

Neil did a fantastic job and was extremely helpful in helping us plan out our kitchen and purchase the necessary components at IKEA. For the level of service and professionalist, you could not find a better kitchen designer. It has now been over a year since we worked with Neil and we still receive many complements on our kitchen which looks better than many high end custom cabinets. Trust me when I say that you would be doing yourself favor by working with Neil.

Neil travelled from LA to San Francisco (Marin County) to help us plan an updated kitchen. Within five minutes of entering the house, he did much more - he re-envisioned the entire space; without intimidating us, he offered a transformative idea that would never have occurred to us, and we saw that our original vision was pedestrian. He listened patiently, particularly to my wife's initial reservations about such a bold move, and never pressured us in any way. It took us a few minutes to warm to his idea, and once we did, he gently led us to consider various options until we finally felt not just comfortable with the idea, but excited. That was Neil's step one. Step two was mapping out the project with his tremendous depth of knowledge about the specific cabinetry and general workflow patterns in in a useful kitchen. Step three was follow-through once the installation began - we never felt he considered the job "done" and that he'd gone on to the next one. Even today - three years later - we're comfortable reaching out to him and find him every bit as responsive as day one. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

We found Neil and Dezign Blue on the internet when we were looking for help in designing our Ikea kitchen. Keep in mind that we live in Pennsylvania while Dezign Blue is based in California.
Neil's understanding of what we wanted was apparent from the start. We went back and forth maybe a dozen times, Neil sending us drawings and we made changes. He was patient, understanding and most of all professional. He established the final plans, reviewed all the materials that we had to order for our kitchen and even reviewed the order once it was delivered to our home. Lastly, he even spoke to our installers to work through a few installation issues they were having.
Bottom line is that we were completely satisfied with Dezign Blue services, even though we had 3000 miles between us. We would highly recommend them

Neil at DezignBlue is a true professional. He was on time, accruate and creative. He helped me design the modern kitchen I wanted, for a fraction of what I would have spent with other manufacturers. He knows IKEA inside and out, and worked his "magic" to hide the microwave, make the fridge panel look like a solid wall of cabinets, etc. He even flew to Sacramento to measure and design in person. I recommend him without heistation.
