We had the pleasure of working with Kimberly Joi McDonald and could not be more pleased! We wanted a fresh, clean and contemporary look in the lobby of our office and Kimberly did a phenomenal job! The finished product was breathtaking, far exceeding the high expectations we had for the project. Given the budget allowed, the time allotted and the standard of quality we expected, the results were truly amazing, bordering on perfection. Needless to say we look forward to working with Kimberly on future projects and highly recommend her expertise to others.

I was very pleased with the my Kitchen Remodel and Family Room Design Project that was just under approx. $30,000 , which was below my budget. My project was for a major kitchen remodel, labor (electrical, paint, kitchen appliance installation, granite installation, back splash installation, wall paint for kitchen and adjacent family room, granite counter top, granite bar top, granite desk top, (4) new high-end dining room chairs on casters, chandelier, (3) pendant lights, (8) new stainless steel rimmed recessed lights, stainless steel appliances: custom counter depth refrigerator, farm house sink, faucet, dishwasher, chimney wall hood, electric cook top, microwave/convection oven, wall oven, warming drawer, custom kitchen back splash design with glass and mirrored tiles, custom window treatments (labor, fabrication and installation), and accessories. Kimberly JOI McDonald, was fantastic from the moment she entered my home. Her bubbly personality and enthusiasm to provide me with the remodel job that would be second to none. My new kitchen and family room will be very fashionable thirty (30) years from now.. I would recommend Designing JOI, LLC to everyone I know and those I don't know. I woul hire the firm again when ever I would need another project.

I had a wonderful experience with this designer, Kimberly Joi McDonald. She took the vision of our daughter and created a bedroom that she will enjoy for years to come. Kimberly is extremely professional and walked us through this complicated process. She made it look easy and took of us personally. I am so pleased to have chosen Joi for my kitchen remodel. She was awesome with assisting in my decisions for my very unique design. We stepped out of the box and Joi found some awesome detailed pieces. She has a real eye for design. My project was in my "new to me" house where she designed and we remodeled the Kitchen from "Frumpy' to "Storybook Victorian Rocco". Crystals everywhere, including the back splashes, pastel paint colours, kitchen bar with new beautiful stainless sink with granite counter tops, lastly the cabinets repainted with distinctively designed hardware. She was always there for build outs, watching that the contractors were doing things correctly or the lighting gently handled and hung with care. Joi even picked out all the supplies from paint quality down to grout color. "That attention to detail!" She is always a bundle of Joi, was energetic, motivated and very fun to work with. She shares ideas and communicates visions very well. Highly recommend this precious jewel.

Designing by JOI brought joy back into our home. We bought an older home and of course everything in it was very dated. JOI came in and gave us her ideas and once we gave her our vision, she ran with it! JOI was always there during the demo/reconstruction making sure everything was on time and making sure all details were perfect and she even comforted our dogs whom were in the change of it all. She. Really. Cares! -about the client! Her particular eye to the tiniest of details are right on-even down to each knob on our cupboards. Very trustworthy! Ms. McDonald is so very talented. She is gifted with an eye for beauty and the ability to put a design together for her client that reflect the client's taste. She is professional, artistic, easy to communicate and work with and understanding. It is always difficult to have workman in my home but Ms. McDonald was always there from the beginning to the end. After her design was completed I truly loved it. My home expresses who I am.

We retained Kimberly Joi McDonald to help us design window dressings for three sliding glass doors and our living room window. We wanted the window dressings to be distinctive and unique. We also wanted a “Wow Factor” especially for the living room window. Kimberly listened closely to our likes and dislikes and presented various designs for us to consider. Since each window was in a different room, we decided on a completely different treatment for each window. The next phase involved picking out fabrics for each window dressing. We decided to work together in the selection process and all three of us had to agree on each selection. This turned out to be a fun adventure for us. Kimberly was a joy to work with. She has a discerning eye, good taste, and an excellent sense of humor. Kimberly demonstrated her extensive experience and expertise in comparing fabrics and helped us make the best selections for our project. In so doing she discussed the merits of each choice with us and how the fabrics, sheers, accessories, and decorations worked together. She worked tirelessly to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Kimberly ordered the materials and oversaw the production and installation of our window treatments. We were very pleased with the results and have received many compliments from our guests. All of the window dressings had the distinctive quality and “Wow Factor” we had wanted. Kimberly also helped us with other aspects of interior design such as purchasing complementary furnishings (custom sofas, custom cocktail table and end tables, chandeliers, table lamps, wall art, sculptures), and decorations for our home.
