We came to David for plans for a new build with a drawing of a plan that wasn't what we really wanted. He wouldn't look at the plan; instead he suggested we tell him what was important to us for this house, listening carefully and taking notes. He came up with a drawing and after a few back and forth revisions we had a plan we were happy with. Now that we have been in the house for a few months and have settled in, we couldn't be happier with the layout; it fits our lifestyle perfectly. We are reminded of his creativity and foresight daily.

David has been wonderful to work with. We have completed multiple projects together and are producing one of the best overall Design/Build services in the entire city of Houston, TX. We are looking forward to working together for a long time!

We worked with David to design our dream house from scratch and we are thrilled with how it turned out. I met a custom home builder at an open house we were really impressed with. The builder recommended David to us and had used David to design a number of his homes. David was great to work with and very responsive and helped us get the design with the features we wanted. We had a number of iterations back and forth and David had good ideas and was able to clearly explain the reasons for certain things or things that should be in a house for potential resale even if it wasn't something particularly important to us. David / Design DCA designed our contemporary house from scratch, provided full architectural plans and made himself available for us to bounce ideas around when we were considering mid-construction change orders. In summary, we couldn't have been more pleased with his work. On time with his deliverables, clear and prompt communications, creative and thoughtful designs and an all around pleasure to work and interact with. David was attentive to our wishes from the very beginning and more than willing to iterate with us and help shape our thoughts on what would become the final house design. As first time custom home builders, my wife and I were very nervous about selecting the right building designer/architect for our project. The designer needed to fit our budget, be easy to work with, and have impeccable taste. David hit all of our requirements and more! We are so glad one of our friends referred him to us. Although modern design is David's passion, we would recommend him for any style of house. He understood and delivered on our vision of a transitional/traditional house pretty much on the first pass. He definitely has a talent for the exterior aesthetics of a home. David is also one of the few designers who is at ease with 3D renderings. From the get go, we were able to see our home elevation rendered in 3D at no extra charge. David was also nice enough to do some interior renderings for us as well. Another huge benefit of using David is that he knows how to efficiently design houses. He was one of the few designers who asked what our budget was. Every builder we showed our plans to marveled at how efficient our plan was. You can trust David on delivering a cost effective plan if you need him to. Finally, David is just a nice guy. He's been so understanding and patient to our many, many requests. And he's always open to suggestions. He's not one of those types to reject all your ideas as crazy. And even if it is crazy, he tells you in the nicest possible way. Although we aren't finished with our project yet, we can't wait to see David's design completed. We would highly recommend David for designing your next home building project.

I am a builder and we contracted with David Cox to help us develop 3 town homes on a small piece of land. We wanted a minimum sq. footage, with a particular layout and all units needed to have a direct view of the downtown skyline. David was able to achieve everything we wanted in a very reasonable amount of time.

Extremely diligent and great attention to detail. Creative solutions to every issue we raised. Although we are not complete yet, we really appreciated David's thoughtful approach to design and we think we will have a great result. He was very open to outside input and unconventional thinking made the process easy. He never said " we can't do this".

David and I have worked on over 30 projects together over the past 12 years, first as Division Managers for a Houston based homebuilder and for the last 8 years in a Designer / Builder capacity. David Cox is extremely creative and very in tune to the current trends and lifestyles. His projects are well thought out in multiple levels considering design theme, interest, excitement, practicable, cost and buildable. The initial designs have always been very good and the revisions that took place to modify the plans to fit my needs and preferences have always been handled efficiently and with a high level of expertise and care for accuracy. I have used Design DCA for approximately 10 years and I still choose to have DCA do all of my design work. I have been in residential construction in the greater Houston area since 1990, and have worked with more than 20 designers or architects over that time. That said, I still choose to have DCA do all of my design-work because of his high-level quality of design, technical expertise, knowledge of residential construction industry, efficiency in his production drawings, and overall value for the work performed. We hired Design DCA (David Cox) to design our custom home. The reason we chose Design DCA was because we had previously toured one of his homes. The architecture of the home was unique, open, and with a great layout and flow. We actually loved the floor plan so much that we decided to base our design on it with minor changes made. David added a mudroom and kitchen pantry and redesigned the 3rd floor media space. He also designed all the interior elevation and exterior site plan. David was extremely easy to work with.
