We worked with Harmony to redesign most of our 1920's craftsman home after it was fire-damaged. We appreciated her willingness to work with our challenging project and evolving ideas and circumstances. She and her team gathered lots of sample finishes and materials during the design phase and Harmony brought expertise and perspectives that we would never have thought of otherwise. We worked with Harmony on a whole house- down to the studs remodel and it was a wonderful experience. In fact, her personal kitchen that we had seen on Houzz was the reason we contacted her in the first place when interviewing designers. My husband and I are very hands on and like to do our due diligence and see all the options in regards to design choices, but also need a "guiding voice" which Harmony and her team provided every step of the way. She helped us use our budget where it mattered most and gave real world advice that was invaluable. She also was very accommodating to working with our own contractor and some items that we supplied ourselves and had great tradespeople when we needed it. A few years later we sold that beautiful house and worked with Harmony again on a large kitchen and bath remodel. While we did not move forward past the design phase with that project (a subsequent move changed our plans) we would not hesitate working with her in the future.

Harmony and her team created a beautiful nursery for our daughter. From the beginning, they were very professional and easy to work with. They were always available for questions, open to changes in the design (we made some tweaks to the initial room design), and communicated everything, from changes in paint colors to when subs were scheduled, etc. They were also very organized which was super awesome! We had only one small hiccup with a sub and Harmony and her team took care of it no questions asked. We also worked with her again to finish off our entry and living/kitchen/dining room and to this day these rooms and my daughter's room are our favorite rooms in the house. Looking forward to working with her again!

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Harmony from designHARMONY for my kitchen redesign, and the outcome exceeded all expectations. We have used Harmony for 2 rooms in our home (Living Room and Master Bedroom) and are now working with her on our biggest project yet, a kitchen remodel! Harmony has been wonderful to work with. We had been putting off an extensive remodel of the home we built 30 years ago. We reached out to Harmony and she helped us through our design process. I'd been watching home design shows for years and always wished I could achieve that in my house. After working with Harmony, we understood what the secret was in all those projects: a designer that understands the requirements, has a strong sense of style and an incredible eye for detail. While working on our basement remodel, she came up with creative solutions for achieving our needs, offered choices and planned everything to the smallest part (like tile alignment or trim sizes for the door molding). I purchased a speck home, sight unseen in Kirkland while living in California. Harmony worked on a full home design plan. She project managed the design, build, and installation of custom cabinetry and wall coverings in many of the rooms. She ordered furniture and came to install giving me that HGTV reveal experience. Our family had experienced a fire last year in the middle of covid. We were really at a loss on what to do but we needed to find a great contractor to help us get our family back into our home. After going through a few contractors that were less than honest (they took our money and ran!) we were very discouraged. I reached out to Harmony to see if she knew of any contractors she trusted. With both of us working from home and a baby on the way, the current configuration wasn't ideal. I first started working with Harmony as designHarmony’s drapery specialist. Working as a sub-contractor and observing creative projects with great project management and happy clients, my husband and I hired Design Harmony to update our 20-year old kitchen and family room. She is the perfect balance of creative inspiration and practical function. Remodeling includes many constraints (budget, timing, working within the existing structure, etc) and Harmony offered many inventive solutions that incorporated both my and my husband’s needs. We have been very happy with the trades/sub-contractors. They all have delivered quality work and been on-time and kept to the budget. Design Harmony delivered what I was hoping for when we decided to work with design professionals on our house remodel! Our house managed to combine a lot of undesirable aspects of builder-designed homes such as awkward design choices, poorly proportioned rooms and adequate at best finishes. Harmony was able to resolve many of the issues, small and large, that we were tired of living with in a way that was both effective, cohesive and a reflection of what we were hoping to achieve. She was also very respectful of our budget and able to incorporate our "taste" into a beautiful result. Kate is the perfect support during the construction process and will give both you and your general contractor confidence that decisions made are the best solution possible for all parties. They also have great working relationships with and can recommend some truly excellent general contractors and trades (who will want to work with them again!)

We have hired Harmony for a few small projects, however our kitchen remodel was a big lift. We removed a load bearing wall which completely resigned the main floor. Harmony and Kate are an amazing team. Harmony's design was right on point for us as she designs for the way you live. Not the way you live two days out of the year. Most of all, we had a great support throughout the process. We never felt alone. I can't recommend Design Harmony enough if you are seeking exceptional quality and high end design.

I contacted designHarmony after looking at many websites for interior designers in my area. Besides the beautiful pictures, I was drawn to designHarmony because they have their own group of sub-contractors they work with, but are also willing to work with any contractors you may have. I wanted a "grown-up room" now that my kids are teenagers; what started the project was my desire for built-in bookshelves. I have no sense of style, but Harmony was able to get an idea of my likes and dislikes, and come up with a design that I never could have dreamed up! Her sense of style, scale, and what will work together is amazing. I *never* would have chosen the coffee table she chose - which is why she is the designer and I'm not!

We have now hired Harmony on three separate design projects, though this was the first time we also had her team PM the project working with her team of contractors. We've loved all of our designs from Harmony. We've done the projects over the course of 6 years, and the rooms have all tied together perfectly. That said, the quality of execution we've seen having Harmony and Kate run the project (versus contracting it out ourselves) is high above the previous projects we executed. Harmony and Kate's quality bar is extremely high, and they have a vision for how the design is meant to be executed. When one of their contractors missed they mark, they had it fixed to their standards without any incremental costs to us. For those of us who have worked with many contractors, this is always a painful process which was made much easier with Harmony and Kate leading the project management of their design. To summarize, the level of accountability Design Harmony has in making sure a design vision is executed exactly right is incredibly high. This results in a high quality deliverable that you will love for years to come. We have plans for more renovations in our future and will continue to use and recommend Harmony.

I discovered Harmony while I was searching for a designer extensively. I have looked through so many pictures and felt loss at times until I stumbled to her site. Her design stood up to me and I could totally envision her design in our spaces. After we had our first meeting, we were convinced that she is the one who can help us transform our ideas into reality for our home. She is not only a good designer who has many creative ideas, she also has a good understanding of the remodeling process and knows a lot about the ins and outs of a house from a big picture perspective to the little details that one would never think about. Case in point, my husband and I decided to expand our kitchen to gain more space, but she challenged us to rethink how we live and how we can better utilize our unused rooms to regain space. My family and I decided that we were ready to take the plunge and move to a bigger and better house. However, after moving, we realized that our bigger and better house had no personality, did not fit the size or style of our current furniture and overall felt uncomfortable and drab. We felt overwhelmed with the spaces and unsure of how to make it our own. After months of attempting to design the spaces ourselves and pick out the “perfect” furniture in the hopes that our home would be featured in the pages of a Pottery Barn catalog, we finally threw in the towel. After doing extensive research on the internet we fell upon Design Harmony. I fell in love with her work and knew she was the one! From day one we have had the best experience with Harmony. She is a down to earth, friendly and professional designer. She was able to create a design for my great room and kitchen that encompassed all of the elements we had requested. Most importantly she captured our style and transformed the room into something that we love. I am so thankful to have worked with Design Harmony. I feel so lucky we found Harmony. We worked with 2 other designers first, and it was a struggle (didn't put energy into the details because it wasn't a massive project, weren't willing to talk through ideas until we really found the right fit, etc.). Harmony is so different from that. She really listens. She cares a lot about you being truly happy with the result. Not to mention her taste is impeccable. We get so many 'wow...'s when people walk in. The best part was how specific she is willing to be. Down to exact measurements for scale, specific color and material ideas...that was the difference from the results being kind of what liked we dreamed and exactly what we love. My husband and I hired Harmony to redesign our entire first floor, encompassing a bronze and oak kitchen with a poorly placed island, a half bath with no character, and a living room that was closed in with half walls. From the first meeting, I fell in love with Harmony's style and approach. She eloquently merged my husband and I's ideas into a kitchen and home that I am proud of and completely comfortable in. Harmony was conscious of our budget and worked flawlessly with my general contractor. She made the process as easy as it could be and her communication was ideal, always aware of the details. For a project this big-we met a tight deadline and everything fell into place. I highly recommend Harmony-her approach, communication, professionalism, and most importantly her design style is unmatched.

We hired Design Harmony to help us redesign our fireplace area including selecting a new fireplace surround, adding built-in cabinets on either side of the fireplace and adding a mantel. We are thrilled with the outcome! The detailed woodwork we added in the project turned out beautifully and adds a custom feel to the room. We wanted to create something that covered our TV when we weren't using it so Harmony helped us to design wood doors that we can close to cover the "black hole" that a TV creates when you aren't using it-not exactly a design feature most of us want to put on display. :) There were challenges in the project created by the original design when the house was built and each one we encountered was handled perfectly by Harmony and her team! Harmony was very easy to work with and stayed true to our vision while offering unique ideas that complimented our vision. At our initial meeting we said we would like our budget to stay within $10,000-$20,000 and were willing to be on the top end of the budget if it meant a more quality product and materials. The entire project cost was around $15,000 and that included adding a small bathroom tile floor tear out and installation of new tile so we were thrilled with her ability to stay well within our budget! We couldn't be more thrilled with our new fireplace and built-ins. Guests always comment on how beautiful they are. I have included one "before" and two "after" photos so you can see the transformation. I would label them but I am sure it is obvious which are which. :) I must add that we were also very happy with all of the sub contractors Harmony recommended to us for cabinet installation, woodwork for the mantel, tile work etc. They were all very reasonably priced, timely and respectful of our home. We will absolutely be working with Design Harmony again for any future design needs!

I sort of stumbled upon Harmony through a few different reviews and I could not have found a better person to assist us with our design projects. She listens to our thought process, suggested ideas that would push us outside of our norm (which is what I asked her to do) and created a relationship that left us with 100% trust in her ideas. We could not be happier with her ideas, sensitivity to budget yet encouragement to spend where it counts, and her responsiveness to questions. Harmony helped to redesign our living room and guest bathroom. Her ideas aligned with the style of the house and our personal style. She captured this quickly through our first meeting. My wife and I bought a brand new house. The walls were bare and plain (and we owned no furniture). Harmony met with us and listened very carefully to our hopes and dreams for the home. She came back with two amazing designs for each room. Her ideas were absolutely amazing! She added creative colors, high quality furniture, and even helped with chandeliers and pendant lamps. She saved us so much time! Rather than countless trips to stores to select individual furniture items, we simply relied on Harmony's expertise and our entire three bedroom home was completely decorated and furnished in 3.5 months. Our guests are simply blown away. One of them said, "If I had my whole life, and an unlimited budget, I could never create a home as nice as this." Harmony is incredibly professional. She helped us with implementation, and even selected contractors for us. We will have her back soon to design our rooftop!

My wife and I hired Harmony to decorate our entire house, which we purchased in 2014. We basically started from scratch so it was a big project. We were so impressed with what she came up with and how easy she made the process! She would meet with us and give us two room layout options for every room and large sheets with pictures of the furniture she recommended. Then we'd decide on our favorite look and make minor changes if needed. We had a blast deciding on what would work best for our home. She was very flexible on making changes and timely with the information. She also made it easy to make the purchases and helped us get discounts when possible. Our house looks great and we'd definitely recommend Harmony!

My husband and I contacted Harmony because we were moving to a slightly smaller home and we needed help with decorating. I tend to get overwhelmed with all the options out there, to the point where it takes me forever to decide. I find it very stressful and I didn't want to spend lots of time settling into my new home. I decided to contact Harmony and boy was I glad that I did. I had never used a designer before and wasn't sure what to expect, but she was very helpful and affordable. She is respectful of budgets and I felt like I could spend as much or as little as I felt comfortable with, without feeling bad in any way. The best plus was that she saw things in our home that I would never have thought of before. I know that if I had done it on my own, I would have likely redone many things before getting it right. With Harmony, she held my hand so to speak and got the ball moving and now our house looks gorgeous. Knock out these shelves to make the room look bigger, cover a sheetrock beam with wood--of course! I would have never thought of them, but they work. The other perk is that she has all these contractors that do a nice, affordable job that I wouldn't have access to if I hadn't contacted her.

We have hired Harmony to help us with several projects over the past 5 years including a living room and dining room redesign and most recently a complete master bathroom remodel. We really enjoy working with Harmony not only for her great designs but she is a pleasure to work with. She is attentive to our style and needs, keeps us on budget, is very responsive throughout the process and most importantly creates amazing designs. I have used Harmony for several projects now (playroom, rental house remodel that included a full kitchen gut, dining room, mother's kitchen/dining/family room remodel) and the reason I use her over and over again is because she listens, respects budgets, but is not afraid to push back when your design idea is perhaps not the best idea. Some of my projects have included a heavy remodeling and in these projects, timelines were meet and completed on budget. With Harmony, I have a peace of mind in knowing I can trust her to complete the project without surprises not matter how big or small the project may be. In my opinion, that is priceless.

We have never used an interior designer before, always opting for whatever colours were in the space when we got there. Window coverings were always off-the-rack mini-blinds. Then we bought a house. A nice house. A new house! The only thing really wrong with the house was that every surface, walls and ceilings, was beige; builder's beige - a monochromatic nightmare of bland colour. Enter Harmony Weihs. Phase I: Initially somewhat concerned that our job would be too small - we liked our furniture and have a nice little collection of art pieces - Harmony quickly put our fears to rest. She met us at our apartment, did an assessment of what we had, explored our tastes and preferences and then came with us to our empty (beige) house where she did a room-by-room analysis of what we felt we wanted from each space. The result is a beautiful house, full of colour that not only reflects our aesthetic sensibilities, but flows logically from room to room creating a unified home. Harmony listened to our comments, never imposing her own vision, but rather, working with us, sometimes gently steering us away from something that wouldn't work and sometimes building on our own ideas, and always ready with a new idea when we had none. She developed design plans, colour schemes and custom window treatment options, all with plenty of samples and swatches along the way. She recommended skilled tradespeople - painter, seamstress and electrician - to complete the work, and we were extremely satisfied with the professionalism of each. Phase II: We connected with Harmony again when we were ready to finish our main floor living space. She designed a beautiful set of floor-to-ceiling book shelves that elegantly houses our extensive book and record album collection ... with a fabulous blue-stain twist. She also made real my wish to have a coffee table (small enough to fit in the library corner without over whelming it) that would expand to a 4-person dining table. It had to be round. It had to stay round. It needed to go from coffee table to dining table height. She did it! We have an amazing walnut and steel piece of art that is a perfectly functioning table. Perhaps, most importantly, we never felt pressured or rushed into any decision and we were always encouraged to take our time when weighing the options. While I'm sure this project is on the small side of her regular projects, she treated our needs with respect and enthusiasm, and we will continue to collaborate with her in any future design/decoration projects. Harmony Weihs is a creative professional who we recommend without hesitation.

Harmony helped me with a new construction from interior selections before construction started (floor and wall tiles, paint colors, cabinets, hardwood floor color and type and a million of other things in a 3-story new house) to window treatments for the whole house to master bedroom furnishing. It has been almost a year and I am still wowed by the great job Harmony did. I absolutely recommend Harmony and hope to continue working with her on the other areas of my house when I am ready to invest in them.

Harmony's dedication, creativity and responsiveness are exceptional. We would definitely recommend Harmony for any design project (small or big). We bought our first house in March 2011. We wanted to make it "ours" but we didn't know how. At first, we thought it would be way too expensive to work with an interior designer but we decided to give it a try and met with 5 different designers. We really liked our meeting with Harmony. Harmony is passionate about all aspects of interior design. She responds fast, listens to what you have to say, and gets engaged. In spring 2011, Harmony helped us design several rooms in our new home - dining room, entry way, family room, living room and our master bedroom. She took plenty of time to understand our style and came up with great design concepts. We told her how much we love color and she did an amazing job picking the right colors for all the rooms and making sure that all those colors work well together. She was also very flexible with her designs. We hired her again to help us with bathroom remodel in January 2012 and she did a fantastic job with color & tile. We love our new bathrooms. During the remodel, she went beyond what we expected - she proposed a hallway closet to use some of the empty space near the bathroom. We use that closet on a daily basis and it's something we would have never done without her. I do not think we were easy clients - we didn't know exactly what we wanted (first homebuyers) and we were changing our mind all the time - but Harmony was super patient with us and provided creative suggestions on accessories, furniture and even contractors to do the work. We love our new home and we could not have done it without her!
