John is not only a master of his craft but is also lovely to work with and is open to thinking outside the box...a reliable carpenter with artistry that you actually want to work with again??? Who knew they existed! John is reliable, knowledgeable, communicative, detailed, perfectionistic, and prideful about his work in the best possible way. He's someone you feel totally comfortable having in your home when you're not around, because you can tell he's a man of integrity. He takes responsibility for his work and wants it to be right, even if that means spending extra time at his own expense to create a truly beautiful product he can be proud of which inevitably leads to happy clients. And as any interior designer knows, happy clients=happy designer! I hope to work with John on many more projects where we can collaborate and create something truly unique and beautiful. John is an amazing mix of talents: extremely skilled at carpentry with an innate sense of aesthetics built into a kind and relatable personality. He worked seamlessly with me and my designer to create our one of a kind kitchen, talking through design ideas and practical challenges with an eye towards finding solutions. His pricing is reasonable and he’s very responsive and reliable. On top of creating my kitchen, he’s also a residential construction consultant so he was able to help me steer my contractor when things got a little off course. Overall, working with John was a pleasure and very helpful for my overall project. I’m so glad I found him and have already looped him in to help with my next house. You can’t go wrong with John!

We had a single exterior project we had requested bids on by several local vendors, none of which met all of our requirements. We had read glowing reviews of John's work, so we reached out. He came to our home, listened to our request, and made a proposal. We liked what we heard, and selected him to do the work. Everything positive we'd read about his craftsmanship and professionalism were true! We felt like we had won the lotto finding a responsible master craftsman like John. We were so satisfied with the results of the exterior project, we asked him to bid on a modest interior project we hadn't even previously considered. John worked with us to design a replacement for a built-in cabinet long past its prime. We now have a John de la Rionda contemporary that dovetails seamlessly with the rest of our decor. We would hire him again in a heartbeat!

John, designed and built our fireplace surround and created a mantle out of leftover butcher block from another project we had done, and we couldn't be happier. His communication is first rate; his craftsmanship is superb; he completed the job quicker than we anticipated, and his price was better than we expected. Plus he helped us complete or fix a few projects that our contractor did poorly or didn't finish. I can't recommend John highly enough.

Excellent at his craft! I hired John to build a cabinet and floating shelf unit in our living room that would have a fake fireplace at the bottom center and our tv just above the mantle. John had a great way of solving design issues as well as creating unique touches to fit our space. John was friendly, trustworthy, clean and has really great craftsmanship. I was extremely happy with his work and look forward to using him again for future projects. Thank you so much John.

Best decision I could have made for choosing a carpenter. John is a master at his craft. His level of attention to detail and work ethic is something you don't see a lot of these days. He stays pretty busy so you may have to wait a little bit for his avail but it's 100% worth it. Thanks for your painstaking work on my cabinets John!

We hired John to build a recessed bed into the back of our bedroom. He oversaw the project from the very beginning (knocking out the partition wall of the closet to make space for the bed) and we found his background in construction invaluable during the process. The project was fairly involved since we wanted storage space underneath the bed for clothing and an attached bookshelf that reached the ceiling, all of which he executed expertly. He also built us a large bookshelf that extends the length of the wall in our living room. Both pieces look as if they came with the house! John is a masterful craftsman. He is friendly, timely, and cost-effective. We highly recommend him.

We started the daunting task of completely reconfiguring and designing the kitchen of our newly purchased house. The two main features of the room were the expansive views and floor to ceiling cabinetry. Craftsmanship and a smart, clean sense of design were elements that were paramount to the cabinetry which covered almost 3 out of the 4 walls in natural wood. From the start of the interviewing process John gave us a sense of comfort with his ability to visualize and communicate how he would approach and complete the project. John created precise plans down to the very inch, careful to maintain the flow of the kitchen and not crowd the space. He also worked with us on iterations and changes as the project evolved, careful to maintain the budget as we neared completion. He collaborated with us on every detail of the job, from selecting the cabinet material to placement of electrical and plumbing. John's roots in woodworking, attention to detail, craftsmanship and thoughtful approach were key to the success of our new kitchen and much appreciated.

John did two projects for us this year (2017). He built a desk with two cabinets for my husband. This was a complicated project as the desk was raised higher than normal and attached to the wall to allow for a view from the window. We also wanted it to drop down against the wall when we had guests and wanted to turn the room into a guest room. He stained it to complement other wood finishes in the room. It turned out beautifully! It is so well constructed, sturdy and aesthetic and it does exactly what we want it to do! The second project was a large cabinet on our balcony. This space slopes down several inches, which made the project less than simple, as well. John solved the problem and built a lovely cabinet. It holds chairs, a table, and outdoor pillows for entertaining. We are so happy with it! Now, for John...what a great guy to have around! Along with his high level of talent and skill, John is such a personable human being. He has been a pleasure to get to know. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
