Dean came to our house and gave us an estimate for a new deck and railing using Wear Deck. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Enjoyed talking with him and learned some interesting stories about St. Petersburg. Dean and the guys were very accommodating and the crew Chris and Morgan did an amazing job on our project. We are looking forward to enjoying our deck for many years to come! Would highly recommend this company, had a great experience! Thank you!!!

Dean installed approx 600sf composite deck over a new flat roof. Job was done quickly without any hiccups. A powder-coated aluminum railing was also ordered, and installed two weeks later upon completion from the fabricator. Very happy working with Dean, and would definitely recommend.

After being given the run around by a couple of handymen, I bit the bullet and called and left a detailed message with Dean and basically begged him to take on this rather small project. He was on vacation but called a couple of weeks later and asked the details. We met the next day and made changes to the professional drawings I had done as Deams ideas were even better. I had already purchased my lumber which Dean had no problems with and he even returned the extra I bought back to the specialty lumber shop (who knew Dean). He quoted a price and a date and this project was done in 2,5 days by Dean and a helper just as expected. His price seemed high but after having such a quality build so timely and professionally I did not bat an eye !! Bottom line lesson --you get what you pay for. I will definitely higher Dean for our next home build.

Dean built a great custom deck. I took a long time looking getting prices. Friend referred me to Collins. Then the custom build at a great price. I will recommend to my friends and family. Thank you.

I hired Dean and his son. The day of the project was supposed to start. Dean's son shows up and tells me we can't start work today because he doesn't have any skilled labor to help him. The second day he shows up and says he hasn't had a day off in 10 days and wants to take the day off, but tries to blame it on one of my contractors that dug a small electrical trench in the backyard to lay wire. I called Dean and all he said was that he already paid for the materials and accused me of trying to hustling him into getting a cheaper price. I have no doubt these guys do good work, but if anything goes wrong be prepared to deal with their over inflated egos and their lack of taking accountability for their own actions.

Mr. Kim is not a client of ours, we never built a project for him. He is a self proclaimed real estate investor. The house that he is currently remodeling the inside by using unlicensed contractors, and no permits. Before hiring us, he bragged that - 'the guy doing my flooring inside the house gave me a price for thousands less than your price", but he hired us, after giving him a 25% discount. Instead of giving us a deposit upon signing the contract, Mr. Kim agreed to pay the deposit the day the materials were delivered, which was scheduled for Monday. My son arrived on the scheduled day, with a laborer and the materials, which were paid for by us, were carried to the back yard and Mr. Kim then refused to paid the agreed upon deposit. The next day, our crew showed up to work and there was a 2 foot deep trench from one end of the back yard to the other with 2 feet of dirt mounded above ground in the area the deck was to be built at ground level. The handy man he had doing this electrical work left to go to home depot for conduit and wire to put in the trench and did not finish that day. Our crew had to leave because they couldn't work. Which was a huge waste of our time. My son, before leaving, explained this to Mr. Kim's wife (Mr. Kim was not there) and she agreed to us continuing to work the next day. Later that day, Mr. Kim calls me yelling to remove our materials and that he "Canceled the job". We came back that afternoon, carried the materials to the front yard for Lowes to pick up the next day, which they did. Mr. Kim has no reason to complain here.

At the end of August, 2014, I called Dean Collins about repairing a deck in my backyard. Collins construction gave me a estimate just a few days after I called. I wanted a ten year old 500 sq ft deck refinished with composite decking. His estimate was complete, and quite competitive. The crew arrived promptly and removed the old wooden decking, repaired the understructure, and prepared it for the decking ... on the first day. The next day they installed and screwed down the composite decking along with three benches on top of the deck. All trash was removed and Dean Collins personally came to check the job and insure I has satisfied. I was. In fact I was so satisfied I called Collins back in a couple of weeks to do the same task to my dock. They ripped up the wooden dock, added many new supports to the understructure, and put down new composite decking. They even removed and reinstalled my bench that I use when fishing off the dock. Again, a very satisfactory job at a good price. I certainly would recommend them.

Mr. Collins built a deck on my house that was the first one in my neighborhood. It turned out beautifully and it is still going strong. He designs as well as builds which is great. My deck was up one level and was roughly 20' by 50'. My neighbor liked it so much he had Mr. Collins build his also. I would definitely have him build another deck for me if I ever needed one. He was on time, on budget, and professional all the way.
