Dan and John really helped us figure out how we were going to utilize the different spaces in our home and came up with creative ideas that never would have occurred to us. They were a delight to work with, and I can honestly say we have our dream home because of them. We were so happy with the work they did that we re-hired them to design our patio!

Dan and John helped us take stock of our space, an apartment we'd occupied for nearly a decade and had become kind of "stale," and helped us look at it in a completely different way. Taking stock of our preferences, tastes and quirks, they gave us with a detailed plan of attack, including a wall-by-wall paint "key" as well as suggestions for furniture acquisitions (with detailed measurements) in addition to suggestions of what we could stand to let go. On top of this, they are both great guys and tons of fun to spend time with. Strongly and enthusiastically recommended!

Dan and John have a real gift for active listening. They do not come in with their own agenda, but carefully tease out their clients needs to identify practical solutions to every day design problems that are beyond the reach of most of us to solve on our own, They have helped me organize two apartments in a row...making them much more comfortable and liveable than they had been before.

Dan and John did a great job helping us plan our kitchen redesign. They brought vision, creativity and lots of experience to the process - opening our eyes to options that we hadn't thought of before, but were right in line with what we want in a new kitchen. They created excellent drawings and plans that helped us visualize the redesign, and we were able to bring these to cabinet makers to get accurate quotes for the work. We highly recommend Dan and John and look forward to working with them again on our next project.

We bought a sprawling but very run down apartment in Brooklyn that needed everything. We knew the apartment could be great, we just weren't sure how to make it happen. Dan and John helped us to think through the best use of space not only for the kitchen and new bathroom, but also how to create a good flow in the entire space. We love the plan they came up with and

Dan and John were awesome! My husband and I bought our first house and were super excited to make it our own...well working with Dan and John was a pleasure, they spend a lot of time understanding what was important to us and ensured to work it into our plans. We found Dan and John through an article on Dwell featuring the renovation of their Arts and Crafts house in Leonia at a time when we were embarking on construction of a new contemporary house in Princeton, NJ and liked what we saw. Since then, we have relied on Dan and John to help on the interior design of our new house -- for the layout of the kitchen, entry way, study area and built-ins, as well as the selection of finishes and colors. Our experience has been hugely positive, both in terms of their making recommendations for the design of individual elements as well as acting as a sounding board/reality check for our own ideas. They have also been extremely responsive to our requests and easy to work with. Overall, Dan and John have been very effective in coming up with creative and practical ways in which to optimize the utility of what is a relatively small space. We have no hesitation in providing the strongest recommendation for their work.

Dan and John Life is an artistic design team arriving at your doorstep with creative vision, style and common sense. This totally charming professional team provided us with an architectural plan, a first and second floor paint palate, and a furniture plan utilizing our old furniture and incorporating new when needed. They were careful to understand our style and needs. This team takes the stress out of house renovation and makes it lots of fun. They are great. Hire them!!

Without reservation, we highly recommend Dan and John Life for design jobs big and small! Dan and John designed two bathroom renovations for us two years ago and we are thrilled with the outcomes. Dan and John were incredibly easy to work with, have a fantastic ability to design clean and uncluttered space, and are super flexible to work with. They both are incredible listeners and take detailed notes at every meeting so that nothing gets lost in translation. We recently hired them again to design a screened pavilion, deck expansion and outdoor shower and were equally impressed by everything from the initial meeting to the final plans. When we needed plans revised quickly, they were able to deliver. It is rare to meet people with such follow through and creativity- left and right brain working together fluidly! Again, without reservation, we recommend Dan and John Life!

After years of contemplating dozens of back splash ideas I knew I needed some advice to help me narrow the field of choices and get the result I wanted. A quick design consultation with Dan and John helped to establish the scope of the project and type/color of tile to use. With new found confidence I went with Ann Sacks Elements Earthenware Field Tile in Cotton Matte. I feel like I have a new kitchen and love it.
