Cy Lo, Builder

I have known Cy Lo for many years and in that time he has done numerous projects for me from relatively small repairs to major remodeling. In all circumstances, he was completely professional, fair, honest and a pleasure to work with. One mark of a good contractor is the ability to really listen to a client . He did that, discussing the projects in language that I could undertand and explained my options every step of the way. He did a bathroom project for me at a property I own and the results were fantastic. He seems also to be able to communicate and work well with his subcontractors and that makes every project go much smoother. He built a wall installation that I saw and wanted in my house. He worked from photos and my descriptions of what I wanted it to look like. It came out better than I expected. Having contractors in one's home can be a potential nightmare, but working with Cy has been a dream.

We hired Cy to enclose our outdoor BBQ deck space since it gets really windy out there and we wanted to be able to enjoy it year round. Cy was so easy and pleasant to work with and flexible. We had our ideas of what we wanted, he listened, made some suggestions which made the final outcome even better. To keep costs down, we decided to buy recycled windows and Cy went shopping with us to pick out windows one afternoon. He does very good carpentry work and everything he did turned out way better than we expected. He knew I did stained glass and made sure to have a few spaces open so we could put in some special pieces. The whole thing turned out great and working with Cy was one of the better experiences we've had working with Contractors. Definitely would us Cy Lo again. He has a lot of experience, does high quality work, is an absolute pleasure to work with and easy going. Thanks Cy!

Cy Lo Builders wasn't the least expensive bid I received but I didn't get slammed with change orders, which I knew would happen with the others We did have some unexpected hiccups, but he did some free and was reasonable about the others. His quality of work was outstanding. They always kept a clean work space, which was incredibly important since I lived in my condo while they remodeled my kitchen. If you're looking for a GC who has an eye for detail and can think outside the box, Cy is your guy! Tina DiRienzo

Cy and his incredible team renovated our Noe Valley home from basement to roof shingles. Their work was impeccable -- professional and detail-oriented -- and they were wonderful to work with. Cy and his team came up with on-the-job solutions for unexpected issues, whether it was drainage or tiling or figuring out ways to get better cell phone coverage. Cy brought many years of experience to this project; his team included expert tilers and the subs he brought in to work on the plumbing and electrical in our house are some of the best in the Bay Area. Our job included lifting our house to gain ceiling space, ripping out an attic, installing a staircase, redoing every kind of flooring (from reclaiming 100 year old Douglas fir planks to installing engineered wood), reconfiguring rooms and even moving a garage from one side of the house to the other. Cy and his crew worked "smart," continually kept us informed and were just really nice guys to be around. They are true craftsman, and their work is impeccable. They have continued to work for us -- Cy believes in a "lifetime guarantee" -- and just completed a fantastic NASA-themed treehouse for my kids.

Cy built a custom bookcase for our living room. He explained the wood and moulding options available and discussed the pros and cons of each. Although our fireplace mantle is really old, Cy was able to match the fireplace moulding design on the new bookcase. He built the bookcase in his wood shop and delivered it assembled with the exception of the shelving which he and his assistant attached at our house. It was delivered on time and on budget. And the craftsmanship is outstanding. It's the best made piece of "furniture" we own and he did a fantastic job. It looks as if an original built in bookcase which is exactly how we we wanted it to look Cy has also done other woodworking projects for us and I would use him again and recommend him to anyone.

Working with Cy Lo turned out to be a wonderful experience when we re-modeled our kitchen/dining areas. Cy Lo and his workers were on-time, efficient, cleaned up after themselves each day, and made the entire process a happy time. His experience and knowledge were put to good use with the limited space and light we had available, and what was going to be something quite simple, turned out to be elegant as well. Cy was able to delegate to several excellent subcontractors (electricity, plumbing and parquet floors) and kept everything moving along on schedule. But the most effective part was Cy at the helm, making sure all the permits were gathered, the new appliances and cabinets put into place and the backsplash and lightwell lined up for a beautiful view I would recommend him to anyone who plans to do any work on their homes. He was inventive, organized and the best.
