Michael of MFW Construction was the perfect choice to hire for our addition/remodel! Michael was such a pleasure to work with and we knew we were in good, capable hands with the utmost expertise. Michael turned our little Point Loma craftsman home with 2 small bedrooms and 1 tiny bath into a gorgeous, warm and comfortable home that now boasts 3 bedrooms and a beautiful spa like master bath. My story begins with buying a home with six bathrooms all providing large showers but not a bathtub in sight. I always enjoyed a relaxing bath after a long day. I selected one of the smaller bathrooms off a laundry area that presented a challenge to create what I wanted. I asked friends and associates for a good contractor who could redesign this tiny room with a clawfoot tub. Michael Williams was the best choice for the job. I described my vision in transforming the space to include a new pedestal sink, toilet removal, new lighting, paint colors and a new tile floor. Michael reviewed my wish list and provided photos, suggested materials and pricing that was quite reasonable. Suddenly the magic began with a total demo of the existing room. Michael was on the job with his staff daily. My dream of a soaking bathtub was becoming a reality. At the end of each workday, the area was swept and vacuumed. The project was timely and exactly what I wanted. What more can I say? Only that I will contact Michael Williams for my next construction project.

Michael Williams was wonderful ! Helpful, dependable, always on time and very knowledgeable. He was efficient and trustworthy. If and when we do another construction project on our home Michael will be the first person I call. Our family looks forward to working with him again.

We had a pretty complex, last minute project with a tight budget for which we were supplying Knotwood Aluminum Building Systems. Being the busy season, we had a lot of difficulty finding a competent contractor who could tackle the project for us. Michael came out on a moment's notice and saved the day. The client was a bit difficult, but Michael handled it like a champ. He really knows his stuff. He is competent, professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to his work. We would definitely recommend him to anyone and will definitely be contacting him for future work! Top notch!

After months of bad luck trying to find an available, reputable, affordable, dependable contractor to do two bathroom remodels in my townhouse, I was referred to Mike. Not only was he professional, he was a very nice person. He listened to me when I described what I wanted and gave me options that were within the range that I said I wanted to spend. In no way did he ever pass on false promises, etc. He gave me my bid on the date promised, started work on the date promised and finish prior to the date promised. His crew also did a fantastic job. They protected my floors/walls while they worked, they cleaned up daily and they always hustled. I have no complaints at all and would recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for a remodel. We are going to do a kitchen remodel next year and even if someone comes along and gives me a lower bid and a faster turnaround time, I would not think twice about using anyone other than Mike and his crew. We hired MFW Construction to do a 965 square foot addition underneath our existing house - nearly doubling our space. This also involved adding a new entryway and expanding the front of the house to accommodate. Mike and Gert did a fantastic job communicating throughout the project. They worked with our architect and drafter to reconcile some inconsistencies with the plans that were created and developed options to accommodate changes that helped keep us in budget and stay true to our original vision. Example: Home Depot delivered the wrong window for our master bath - to go directly above the vanity. It was supposed to be 12" high and was 18" high. Re-ordering the window would have been a 2 week delay. Mike & Gert reworked the design and provided options for medicine cabinets that would accommodate the 18" window and not compromise on space. Example: The engineer's plans called for the front entryway to come through the existing foundation without cutting. This would have eliminated our laundry room - a key feature of the addition - and severely altered the flow from upstairs to downstairs. Mike brought the engineer to the site and had him rework his calculations so we could bring the entry through at the correct place and not lose our laundry room. Things "come up" with any project of this size and Mike & Gert were great at helping us understand options - and providing solutions. They also added value throughout the project. In the end, we had to rebuild a retaining wall by our driveway. Gert suggested putting a cut out in it for our garbage cans - which really had no place to live. It works perfectly and was a great "add on" to something we didn't know we'd have to do. Overall, we've recommended MFW to several friends - and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Michael and MFW Construction remodeled 3 bathrooms and several other areas of the house. The company was thorough in their bid as well as in subsequent change orders I requested. I was able to see an accounting of the project and costs did not exceed the bid by much, if at all. (Construction is not an exact science). The subs were respectful of my home and cleaned up after themselves. The communication between MFW and I was good and MFW was flexible and accommodating when appropriate. MFW made sure I was completely satisfied with the end result. I would hire the company again.

Straightforward, hard-working, and HONEST. Mike does what he says he will do, and does it well. There was no B.S., and absolute financial transparency- we knew where every cent was going, with detailed invoices that included receipts. Mike and his crew came onboard mid-way through our large scale renovation/addition project. The first guy we hired and eventually fired was an absolute nightmare, ill save you the story, but it was hell. When we brought Mike on we walked the property with him and learned that most of what was done wasn't done correctly and needed to be re-done. Mike and his crew fixed and finished the framing, installed Hardie siding, fully renovated 1 bathroom, built 2 bathrooms, installed our cabinets and appliances, tiled the kitchen and 3 bathrooms, painted, did the electrical and plumbing, installed fixtures, built custom fences and closet shelving, and did it all the right way, without cutting any corners. The numbers he gave were fair, he did his research well, worked hard to complete our project, was patient with us while we made decisions and was simply wonderful to work with. I proudly hand out his business cards to friends and co-workers, the guy has it all. We couldn't be happier.

MFW Construction did a remodel job on my home in approximately 2009. I had my bathroom remodeled from a 1/2 bath into a full bath, a full 2nd story deck and stairs built out of Trex across my kitchen with installation of a French door where a window used to be, a cosmetic remodel of my other full bath with new tile and a few alterations, epoxy paint of my garage, cement cut and a drain put in my driveway for flood control, and a brand new built art studio 13x15 in my back yard with electrical and incoming water. All work was done professionally and in a timely matter. Of course with every remodel there are unforeseen things that come up, and they were all dealt with professionally and with minimal delays. I was and am very happy with the work that was provided as well as the communication with this company. I would recommend them as they are knowledgeable, trustworthy and delivered what I asked for.

MFW Construction served as our contractor on a major home remodeling job in 2007-2008. He and his crew did an outstanding job; we couldn't have been more pleased with the final result. His entire crew were polite and professional during the several months of construction. He kept us informed on his progress, and pointed out significant options along the way. I contacted MFW Construction after some contractors I had worked with before deemed my project " too small" for them. My project entailed framing a door in between the master bath, which was open to the master bedroom. MFW gave us a reasonable estimate, were easy to work with, and did a very nice job!

MFW Construction was involved in the remodel of our office lunchroom in the Wells Fargo Building in downtown San Diego. Our lunchroom was old and outdated and needed a huge makeover. From demolition to final inspection, Michael was great to work with. Both Michael and his crew were extremely professional and polite. They worked after regular business hours at times, so that we could continue to work in our office without the noise of construction. We really appreiciate them going out of their way for us so as to not disturb our client meetings.
