Jeff, is a complete master of his domain! We worked him for our new home and I love what he did with every room in our home. He came highly recommended. Easy to work with. He has a magic (and art) about the process, understanding our style and recommending based on his years of experience in his industry. He will always be our Designer (as long as he will have us) for any future projects and touch ups to an existing space. Very organized, accommodating and educated. Jeff is an amazing designer and, over the months, has also become a good friend. He took the time to understand our needs and taste and, of course, our budget. Jeff designed my living room, parlor room, and dining room. He also helped me choose countertops for my kitchen and bathrooms, tiles for my bathrooms, as well as paint colors for all my interior walls and cabinet. Jeff is an excellent designer and very professional, it was a pleasure to work with him. I purchased all my downstairs furniture through jeff and I am happy with every piece. I find the furniture to be very good value for the price I paid. The quality is much higher than furniture you can find through a retail store. We discovered Jeff Culbertson through Houzz. I have waited years to do a major remodel on our 60’s era ranch home of 2600 sq ft. I collected ideas and examples and built several large idea books on Houzz. Then when it was finally time to begin I reviewed what I had collected, cross referenced my favorites for location, and contacted a good number of highly rated designers in my area. I wanted to hire someone with experience; to avoid pitfalls and give the project a unified direction and theme, while at the same time respecting my taste and style. I did not want a “designer” home that was more about the designer than me. Jeff responded quickly and came to my home to discuss the project. Unlike the other designers who also came to my home Jeff offered some excellent suggestions of his own and had lots of enthusiasm for our ideas. I found him very easy to talk to about our style and budget. The other designers were pleasant and talented but none were as tuned in to the project as Jeff. Jeff took the time to really look at our furnishings, art and lifestyle and directed and smoothed our wishes into reality. As our remodel turned into a bigger project than we originally anticipated, Jeff was always available and helpful. His network is extensive and all his contacts were professional, reasonable and very highly qualified. When we had to replace our original contractor, Jeff took care of it and found us the perfect one. His connections with cabinet makers, tile shops, appliance distributors, windows, doors, plumbing and plumbers were all outstanding and made the decision making manageable and smooth. Jeff’s many years of experience and his professional and personal skills have built him a talented team of other top professionals. When we decided to replace some furnishings and window coverings Jeff had suggestions, samples and reasonably priced options. Jeff can truly do it all…and with style, organization and flair. And whenever the wheels started to fall off during the project Jeff was always right there and, with pragmatism, humor and patience, would right the problem. It was a real pleasure working with Jeff Culbertson. We had a house fire almost 2 years ago and It was a very stressful time for us. LOVE MY NEW HOME! I recently completed a full remodel of my new home, gut renovated and beautifully decorated. And this could not have been done without Jeff’s help. During my first meeting with Jeff, he spent over an hour with me going over my needs and tour around the house giving suggestions and ideas. This did not happen with other interior designers I interviewed (all 5-star rated by Houzz). Instead they took a few pics, pitched themselves, quoted rates and went home to send me the contract for Docusign, but were not forthcoming with any design ideas. Working with Jeff and his teammate, Tina has been a positive, enjoyable and rewarding experience from start to finish. It’s my first time doing such a major and large project and Jeff guided me through the material selections including paint color, flooring, slabs, tiles, fixtures, cabinets, etc. all the way to furniture and accessories installation and placement. I was so glad I chose Jeff and his team because their systematic approach, vast knowledge base and wide assortment of resources available to them which combined to make our process go very smoothly, left me feel extremely satisfied, and most importantly everything to my likings. From start to finish, it took almost a year to finish my project due to COVID supply chain issues. But Jeff has always been approachable, fast in responding my inquiries, and open to share opinions. He did not only provide design ideas, but also give architectural suggestions and worked with what I had already and incorporated and coordinated to make statement designs. I am now enjoying my home in its almost finished state(still waiting for a couple furniture pieces but the end result has already been amazing) and truly grateful for Jeff’s partnership in making my house a home! I have had the pleasure of working with Jeff through three different remodels over the last 20 years. We remodeled one house when we bought it and then again when it need modernizing to maximize our value when we sold it. Jeff is a designer who has gained credibility by working on some incredibly prestigious homes over decades. He brings an architectural background and therefore truly understand what brings out the best in a home with a very individual approach to each project. In all three projects the homes have needed something unique and even with the same owner he comes with a fresh set of eyes and ideas. When we began to look for a designer for a major remodel we began the interview process. The first designers that we interviewed were quick to tell us how great they were and what their rates were but were not forthcoming with any ideas. When Jeff came to our house he did not hold back with great suggestions and insight. We knew immediately he was our guy, and we were not disappointed. He has great contacts. We have been working with Jeff at Culbertson Interiors over the last 8 months on our house we are building near Seattle, Washington. All of Jeff's advice to select the finishes for items like stucco color, siding stain, entry and interior doors, tile, cabinets, counters, stairs, stone, electric shades, roof, etc. has worked so well together and created a much nicer house than we could have hoped for. We worked with Jeff Culbertson on a complete remodel of our home. He was fabulous!! He has an exceptional "architectural eye" that helped us: reimagine our entire kitchen; create distinctive framing for entries into our Living Room and Dining Room; dress up the kitchen bar and wine bar with paneling; select tile and stone to enhance the kitchen, Guest Bath and Powder Room. He translated my desire to have two display cabinets (on either side of a piece of art, with glass shelves and lights) into beautiful pieces that have created a "wow" effect. He also has a wonderful collection of "resources" (contractor, painter, carpet, wood floors, plumbing, tile/stone, appliances) that he brings into the project and manages throughout. Every room in our house was part of this project and we are so completely thrilled!!

After many years (30+) in this house, redecorating room by room, I wanted to redo my floors, but was intimidated by the vast array of materials in the market! I was so fortunate to be recommended to Jeff, who quite quickly chose a gorgeous easy-care porcelain tile that extends throughout most of my 1st floor. The choice amazed me, as it reminds me of Carrera marble, but with much more movement in grey and subtle golds. Stunning! The carpet he chose for the remainder of the house, really enhances the tile. The addition of new upholstery on existing furniture, removal of old wallpaper, and paint in soft colors put it all together. I am so pleased with the results of Jeff and his team’s efforts! We hired this company to help us with our new construction. Jeff is absolutely outstanding in what he does and is a fantastic person to work with. He is one of the very rare professionals who knows exactly what the client wants, he does not waste any time and keeps all in the budget. He is a very versatile designer who can design wide spectrum of styles. Jeff knew our taste as soon as he walked into our house. He was with us since day 1 throughout the construction. Most designers take their clients to so many stores, go through so many catalogs that at the end, the client is overwhelmed and over budget. We certainly had that bad experience before. But not Jeff. Based on our taste and desire he brought us only 2-3 options on everything from wall/door/trim colors, to light fixtures, to fabric choices, furniture, tiles, cabinets etc. He took us to only few stores so no waste of our time. We hired Jeff to do interior decoration for our new home in Dublin, CA. Jeff was excellent! He patiently spoke with us to understand our background, tastes, likes and dislikes. We like bold colors, and contemporary furnishing with a touch of modern. He put together great options for each of the rooms and was accommodating of our budget. He also was flexible in incorporating few pieces which we had picked out ourselves. When it all came together, we are delighted with the result! The furniture pieces he picked were just the right sizes to create a great ensemble. As important as the result, the process of working with Jeff was also a delight. This is our first home, so we had lots of questions - Jeff patiently answered our questions explaining the principle underlying his choices. He also was very prompt and professional in our face-to-face meetings, emails, shipping updates, and delivery.

Jeff was so helpful in each stage of our remodel. From ideas on how to make our kitchen layout more efficient to helping us pick beautiful new furniture to complement our remodel, it was a pleasure working with him. He hand selected numerous pieces of furniture, fabric for window treatments and accent rugs. The Hunter Douglas reps he used to measure and install new blinds were wonderful too! As demanding clients with a background in design and contracting, we are rarely satisfied, but Culbertson Durst Interiors exceeded our expectations. Jeff Culbertson lead us through the design, construction and furniture process for a whole house remodel and could not be happier with the results. The design team at Culbertson Durst Interiors magically transformed our house from a 1980’s set piece into an updated, welcoming home that reflects our taste and vision, while at the same time honoring the inherent architectural style of the structure. In some areas we were starting from scratch, in others we were not, and it was by no means an easy task for them to integrate all of the many changes we were making into a cohesive visual package. To further complicate matters, the entire project had to be managed remotely, as we live most of the year outside the US. Culbertson Durst accomplished this for us, with patience, humor and aplomb. Whenever we had questions or concerns, the team was always “on it” and responded quickly and professionally. Jeff from Culbertson Durst recently designed my office remodel. It was an ambitious project that involved a general contractor, carpet company, cabinet maker, electrician and a company that provided custom automatic blinds. There were so many different pieces that had to be thought out and exectued on. Jeff worked with me from conception to project completion and the room is fantastic! First off he took my rough idea and turned into something that is the type of thing I have seen in top design magazines. Everything from LED lighting ebedded in crown molding to beautiful custom surfaces came out perfect. His design sense is impectable. He was able to pull out my ideas and turn into something that all flows together brilliantly. The room is a masterpiece and I love it. The project came in on time and on budget and I could not be happier with the results. I will be going room to room remodeling my entire house and I will call Culbertson Durst everytime. We engaged Culbertson Durst for a new build in 2010. They were involved from the architecture phase through to interior design. Jeff is very pleasant and cooperative. The house looks great and now that we have fully settled in, we can sit and appreciate all the subtle design ideas Jeff implemented. Unlike many homeowners, we decided to work with an interior designer from the concept phase of our project. We wanted to get an idea of the end product and have that vision so that when we get to the fun part of the interiors, our architect, builder and sub contractors are aligned to what we want. Jeff enabled us to do this very effectively thereby saving us time, money and resources. Jeff listened to our needs (read wishes), translated them into a design document and specs. This helped us compare different proposals from the builders using same finishes and helped us reduce what builders call "allowance". Jeff's background in architecture was an added advantage. Specifically, his knowledge on the finishes, paint, colors, furnishing, tiles, trims, windows treatment and building materials are exceptional. We highly recommend Jeff to everyone who are looking for a partner in the interior designer and are often confused or lost with so many choices that are available in the market.

Culbertson and Durst Interior Design has made it possible to remodel both the Kitchen and Master Bath with Professional Care. The granite, tile, marble, plumbing fixtures etc. were effortless to pick out with Jeff's tasteful eye directing my husband and myself. Once Jeff got started on our projects he moved very quickly through each step working with Cabinet Suppliers, Plumbers and Electricians to get us where we are today. Culbertson and Durst are extremely easy to work with meeting deadlines, answering questions and meeting at times that are convenient for us. Jeff has been great to work with and I would recommend him for any type of project. His knowledge goes well beyond design.

8/2/2015: I can’t say enough good things about Jeff. He is a great designer, listener, and all around good person. He also knows how to get quality results while staying within a budget. On October 2014, we moved from NY to CA and I was looking for a designer and found Jeff on Houzz. The funny thing is that he actually helped design the house (I had no idea when I selected him from the plethora of designers on Houzz). I was impressed by his portfolio and his reviews and that’s why I decided to reach out to him (and I am still very happy with my decision). Jeff is patient and he listens to his customers. When I didn’t like something, he didn’t make me feel uncomfortable by justifying why I didn’t like a certain item. Other designers that I have worked with, at times, would take offense and would probe for a reason for the dislike (at times I just didn’t like something but didn’t know why…it just didn’t feel right). Jeff did not and that made me comfortable. He also fixed things when something went wrong. It is inevitable when furnishing large homes that something will go wrong and here some things did, but Jeff fixed all the issues gracefully that in the end they became non-issues. Jeff is an innovative designer. He helped bridge the gap between my home's current structure to my needs. My home is very traditional and I like traditional but wanted to bring some modernization/youth to the house. Jeff was able to marry the traditional and modern style and come up with the perfect blend. What was great is he worked with the existing structure and my existing furniture and made everything work beautifully. I appreciate Jeff’s organization, attention to detail, patience, ability to stay within budget, and fix missteps. I would definitely use Jeff again and recommend him to anyone who is looking for a fantastic, kind, and patient designer.

We first hired Jeff and Jill to work with us during the construction of our vacation home. They were very involved throughout construction -- perhaps even more than they expected since the architect tragically passed away during the project. It's hard to imagine what we would have done without them. They were thoughtful, creative, and meticulous about how to design things in a way that suited how we expected to use the home. We were just thrilled with the final result. So much so, that we hired them again to work on our primary home. I think that says it all.

We hesitated using an interior designer, because my husband and I have specific tastes and enjoy picking out our own things. However, after seeing Jeff’s work and subsequently hiring him, we knew we would never fumble around trying to do it alone again. Jeff always listens to what we want and creates our vision, but the results are even better. We met Jeff when our neighbor used him to remodel their 1940's Art Deco home in Pleasanton. At the time, we were buying a second home in Santa Cruz. We needed everything, and the home had an odd floor plan with three levels and small rooms. Jeff planned the furniture layout, turning useless space into meaningful space. He selected all of the furnishings, paint colors and window treatments. When it was time to accessorize, he and I picked out everything in one day. Best day ever, filling up a car with amazing vases, pictures, centerpieces, throws- whatever we needed to make it all come together. Having an expert with me, saved me weeks of agonizing and produced a result I couldn’t have imagined. When it was time for the installation, Jeff stayed and directed everything. He unpacked all of the accessories, hung pictures and made it perfect for our first stay. We were blown away, totally done and beautiful. As a matter of fact, we liked it so much that we used him for a makeover on our Mid- Century Modern home in Pleasanton, my husband’s office and another vacation home in Pacific Grove. I referred him to my parents to furnish their San Diego high-rise condo. They too were thrilled with his work and their style was completely different than ours. We had a idea of what we wanted our house to look like and Jeff it together perfectly. He took the pictures I showed him, put together samples, presented them and made it come to life. Jeff guided me through a new look for our 1960's rancher style den. This was not an easy task due to the shape of the room that had floor to ceiling windows along one entire wall and the age of the home. Prior to meeting Jeff, I spent a year trying to find the correct sofa, with recliners, tv stand, tables, lights etc. with no luck. Jeff came to the rescue developing the room with the colors, carpet, an L shaped sofa with recliners, accessories, drapes and an entertainment unit that were sophistacted and contemporary, while being warm and inviting. I'd also like to note Jeff's professional and easy going personality. He is very patient and worked on various samples and ideas, until I was really happy with the recommendations. I worked with Jeff Culbertson of Culbertson Durst Interiors on a project in Miami Florida. Building a house from the ground up is a daunting task for anyone but throw in first timers and things can get really interesting. Jeff was a tremendous asset in supporting the build. He dove into the architectural plans making adjustments to optimize the space making it functional with a great flow to the layout. Jeff worked with the contractor and subcontractors making clear what was expected for his clients. The number of decisions required to complete this task is not for the faint of heart. Jeff was instrumental with interior accessories, landscaping, pool design and home automation. We (the clients) spent countless hours in his office selecting fabrics, and furnishings that capture our style.
