It took several years of planning prior to starting our home remodel. Scott Couture was very patient along the way. His knowledge of the materials and products needed to achieve our ultra modern vision was excellent. The contractor, Tim Vinson of Building Alchemy, was very patient also and his understanding of the vision was in line with ours. The quality of work was impeccable and on the mark. His access to local bespoke custom fabricators was invaluable. We lived in the house during the remodel and all members of the highly trained team were respectful of our privacy. I worked with Scott on a recent remodel on a Healdsburg bungalow. We explored several options from a simple refresh of the kitchen to a full remodel and addition of square footage. Throughout the process Scott developed creative solutions that fit our lifestyle and provided advice on how our decisions might impact our longer term plans. We are delighted with the results! Scott has been amazing on all aspects of our kitchen remodel, starting with coming up with a unique , functional and elegant design, Our house was built in a craftsman style. Scott was able to incorporate organic craftsman elements into a modern kitchen design which works beautifully with the rest of the house. We love the modern open space, so full of light , it makes you feel like cooking! Once construction began, Scott was always available to answer any questions from our contractor or ourselves as they emerged with progression of the project. He was there to help trouble shoot the unexpected and he was always a phone call/text away to help with anything that came up. There are always those small details at the completion of a project which get missed or ignored and Scott has been right there to make sure it gets done and done right. A real testament to his creativity, our contractor who does lots of high end work in San Francisco, said he wants Scott to design his next house, no cookie cutter ,"same old same old" design stuff. We recently referred Scott to our daughter and son-in-law to help them create a more functional kitchen in their little one bedroom Edwardian before their first baby is born in August. He has once again come up with such a thoughtful, unique use of the space, open, light and spacious but in keeping with 100 year old architectural style. Scott has an incredible eye and creative talent plus he is pretty nice guy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or use him again on our next project.

Scott Couture was our architect on our project in Sausalito, CA, remodeling a 50 year old house. which he transformed into a modern, cutting edge design that is very livable and functional. 1500 square foot remodel of main level with kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and study. Took an 3 story high end redwood country house from 1980 and did a sophisticated, ultra modern remodel. Scott pushed creativity far beyond what I had originally imagined. My wife and I have worked with Scott on a couple of different project. The largest one was to replace our deck. Scott has a wonderful modern aesthetic, and a great eye for applying his aesthetic to turn around the ho hum to something special. He transformed a basic deck and difficult to use yard to a wonderful outdoor extension of our living space, and made the street visible portion something that significantly improved to the look of our home. People who walk by our house often stop to comment on how much they love the changes. Scott achieves his design by managing all parts of the project and paying close attention to all the details. He hires talented people to do the work and he is excellent at working with the city to get all the paperwork and approvals in place. A major plus for getting the job done.

Before he became our architect, Scott was simply our friend. As an amateur architect, I always picked Scott’s brain for ideas which led to lively discussions about style and design. When we were fortunate enough to purchase a turn of the century house that felt and looked all of 100 hundred years old, there was only one person we turned to. I handed Scott my napkin drawings, and what appeared shortly thereafter was an extraordinary and intricate plan. Scott’s understanding of our needs – both utility and aesthetic – was exact. I am biased, but I can attest that our home is the most beautiful and functional in all the area. Scott followed the fundamentals of the initial design and then expounded with captivating details. Scott is a detailed oriented individual, and the results show. He is also very professional in manner and scope. Scott referred and integrated other professionals such that the entire process was cohesive from an engineering and landscape perspective.
