Colman Riddell Interiors

I have had the pleasure of working with Colman on several projects over recent years. As a decorative artist, I have worked with many interior designers in the Washington D.C. area, and Colman is far and away one of the most talented, professional and gracious of all. Colman's ability to communicate her design ideas with contractors like myself, is a key factor in the beautiful and timely results we have reached together on projects.

Colman is a wonderful designer who creates immaculate spaces that are awe inspiring. She works with her clients on every detail of the project. It is a pleasure to place art in such wonderful rooms.

Colman recently re-designed our home kitchen and we are extremely happy with the project results! She is highly professional, has amazing taste, knows how to utilize space efficiently, and delivers on time. Most importantly, she held our hand throughout the process, giving us a lot of choices within our budget and proved very flexible when we asked questions and/or changed our minds! We are also hiring Colman to redecorate our home interior--she has an incredible ability to understand a client's tastes, and she presents modern, up-to-date ideas that work within existing rooms and on budget. She is creative and innovative, but can be practical when needed as well. We are looking forward to finishing this project as well and posting photos of the results!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Colman Riddell Interiors. While Ms. Riddell's approach is both current & innovative, it is hard to define her style because she incorporates contemporary, eclectic & traditional elements in her work depending on each individual space & her client's taste. My home is a quirky nineteenth century federal-style house in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington DC, but my personal is contemporary and edgy. I hired Ms. Riddell after a very brief horrible experience with an interior designer who cared more about the house being styled to her liking which was more traditional than mine thus resulting in my losing faith & trust in the designer being able to fulfill my needs and I had no choice but to end the relationship. With these concerns in mind and after much careful thought, I cautiously hired Ms. Riddell and never looked back. She let me have a voice in the process and was extremely attentive to my style, budget & priorities which made a great foundation for a wonderful designer/client relationship. Ms. Riddell freshened up my house by replacing the dowdy moldings with white high gloss painted ones with cleaner lines and designed two fabulous built-in mirrored screens to cleverly separate the living space from my kitchen. While she used many textiles from the Design Center, she was wonderful in her willingness to work with my addiction to One Kings Lane and other flash design websites and never once did I feel she made a recommendation based on her own financial gain which sadly enough happens a lot in the design industry. Ultimately, working with Ms. Riddell was a very fun collaborative process and I am thrilled with the final job

Colman provided an excellent service. Her taste was impeccable and she was so easy to work with. She handled all of the contracters and painters in such a professional manner and was always easy to contact. Our living room and kitchen look fantastic and my husband and I are already considering redoing another room just to see what Colman will come up with.
