Scott and Galen started out doing a window replacement and renovation of one room, which led to the entire outside of the house. It ended up being a huge job with lots of challenges as the home is over 100 years old. They are both perfectionists and did amazing work. They became like family and we miss having them around! Scott and Galen, and his team, performed an excellent restoration/repair of my kitchen floor, that was sloping, and causing cracked tiles and roof warping, due to short joists under a bump-out. They recommended a solution, provided a design, worked with City Hall to obtain the required permit, scheduled the work, were on time, courteous, respectful, and worked daily from start to finish without delays. There was never a need for me to intervene. Where damage was found to be more extensive than originally scoped, the work to resolve was just done without hesitation. Costs were reasonable and we are happy to have this issue finally resolved after literally years of searching for a contractor who would commit to perform the work. I would hire them again and recommend them highly.

We hired CHIZLD to renovate our entire kitchen, and to repair our basement following a foundation leak. The crew was always professional, courteous, friendly, and took care of our house as if it was their own. They made sure to meticulously clean up after every work day! Their crew was also very accommodating to our life and schedule, and even fell in love with our dog. They communicated the schedule very well, and when there were any delays or changes, we were always made aware in good time. The quality of the work is amazing, and the attention to detail is second to none. We would recommend them to anyone, and look forward to working with them again on future projects!

This is a letter of recommendation for (Scott co-owner of Chizld). We hired Chizld to add a two story separate garage to our home in Grand Bend. We were very apprehensive of this project as a whole due to a discouraging experience we had when originally building on this property. We were met at that time with nothing but headaches and trouble with Jewel Construction. Scott showed compassion and professionalism while trying to put our fears to rest. The team Scott sent were absolutely fantastic! And he was there most days to make sure everything was started and going well. When he did leave to attend to other projects he left us in the very capable hands of his employee Brandon. This company went out of their way to make what can be a very stressful time go as smooth as possible. Any questions or concerns we had were met with immediate response and solutions. The end result is a fabulous garage as well as a dormer that was created using the existing balcony giving us extra space in our home. We are thrilled with the workmanship, professionalism, knowledge and for us the kindness and understanding of our reluctance to trust. Which Scott gave back to us. We have since recommended him to friends in our community and will certainly continue to do so. Back in 2017 we wanted to do a complete reno of our kitchen/living room area. We interviewed 5 contractors, and I have to say the only one who impressed me right from the start was Chizld! We removed a wall between our living room and kitchen to open the area up and we also had a number of bulkheads removed. To look at the area now one would never know that there had been any previous structures in place. We had a 16'x12' tiled floor removed and they were able to save the sub-floor beneath it which was in perfect condition, saving us time and money. Their attention to the fine details and their hard work ethic was very much appreciated, and well worth the money. The quality of their workmanship and the promised on schedule timeline enabled the company who we had hired to build our kitchen cabinets for us to come in at the agreed measuring time with no delay on our delivery, and they appreciated the quality of workmanship by Chizld as well. When it came time for us to rebuild our carport area in 2020, I didn't even bother to look for anyone else to do the construction project for us. There was only one choice, Chilzd! Last summer, we contracted CHIZLD to complete major exterior repairs on the addition of our century home. We were impressed with Scott and Galen from the beginning - they were prompt in all of their communications, comprehensive in the quote they provided us, and knowledgeable regarding the various aspects of the necessary repairs. During the entire process, we felt comfortable knowing that we were working with a company that was capable, reliable, organized, and trustworthy. Their team was incredibly professional - they often arrived early, worked hard throughout the day, and cleaned up at the end of each day - even our neighbours were thoroughly impressed with their professionalism and work ethic. When unforeseen issues arose, Scott and Galen guided us through deciding how to best address them, and the team was still able to complete the project in a timely manner. The overall quality of work was excellent, and we are now completely confident in the integrity of the addition. We contacted Chizld for a sagging beam in our basement in our Century home. Finding the right contractor was imperative since it's going to be the building block for the rest of the renovation that we have planned and renovations on Century homes (after reaching out to several contractors) is another type of renovation that requires a special expertise. Scott and Galen were both onsite brainstorming different ideas on how we could address the sagging beam based on our budget and preferences and explaining in layman terms each idea during the quoting stage. While on site they were on-time and more than happy to show us the work when we wanted and explained what they had done at the end of the day and if we had any questions, it was clear to me that they are passionate about their work. If I could give more stars I would and I was seriously impressed with the work done, overall cost, extra pieces of advice, timing and cleanliness. CHIZLD did great work and went over and above in their desire to do a complete job. They kept the site very clean and were thorough in the work they did. They kept us informed about what was going to happen on a daily basis. We never had to wait for any sub contractors. I would recommend them to anyone who is doing any remodeling. Scott and Galen performed a full kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room renovation on our turn of the Century home. 1 year later we are still wowed by the quality of workmanship and the design/style aspects of the renovation. Chizld finished the work on time and within budget. The job site was cleaned daily and made safe for our family. I give Scott, Galen, and Chizld my highest recommendation for all of your construction and design needs.

We had our garage built by CHIZLD. Galen and his crew did a beautiful job and were on the job every day until the project was completed. They left the site very tidy and were very respectful of our home. The garage is spacious and well built and it also looks great. These guys have a real artistic flair and an excellent sense of what will look good. I am also impressed with this company’s generous support of girls basketball in our community. I would not hesitate to call them again.

If you need a renovation done on time and done right these are the guys to call. My wife and I purchased a century home and needed our main bathroom completely gutted and redone. From the very start the level of communication was by far the best we've had with anyone. Scott and Galen responded to our questions and concerns the same day often within hours. They came on site to look at our current bathroom and were extremely helpful providing ideas and worked with us to stay within budget. Galen and his guys were extremely polite and kept the worksite clean after every day of work. The old bathroom was a jumbled mess of bad patch jobs and old renovations .. wall paper over top of wall paper, outdated plumbing, parts of knob and tube wiring left in the wall.. the pictures honestly don't do it justice.. it was a complete mess. Everything came together on time and within budget and my wife and I could not be happier. The quality of work is top notch. Just look at the before and after photos and you will understand. Also felt bad as Galen and his guys had to remove our old cast iron tub ... thing must have weighed over 400Lbs. Thanks for a job well done! Strongly recommended these guys!
