We highly recommend Chlebek Architects & Builders! I went through 4 architects before finding them. Chester and I discussed exactly what was needed on several of our projects and he has delivered on all of them. He's affordable, his work is very detailed and permit filing with Chester is a breeze.

LBDI, Inc. hired Chlebek Architects for a Dormer / Attic Renovation in Berwyn, IL. Chester Chlebek the Architect had previously completed a number of Projects in Berwyn and advised us that working with the City of Berwyn's Building Department may be more of a challenge then expected. Chester was correct and after several Permit resubmittals we received our Permit and the project was started. Notwithstanding, Chester was quick to respond to the revisions requested by the City and remained very professional throughout the process. I have hired AIA Architecture & Construction to prepare drawings for a plumbing system. The plumbing system had to be replaced from the basement to the second floor. In addition, AIA Architecture & Construction offered a consultation regarding the other remodeling options in the house. Also, a 12 foot lintel/beam had to be replaced in the front wall of the house. The AIA Architecture & Construction had prepared drawings for the Building Department for this structural job. The offered services were done in a timely manner. AIA Architecture & Construction is very competent with the good architectural knowledge, and the price for was fair.

This firm was retained to prepare a full set of architectural drawings to support a pending project. We can say without any doubt that this firm is first class and work product is outstanding. It may also be properly stated that Chlebek Architects & Builders were absolutely professional in their approach to the task as well as being attentive and personable. Equally important is that the required drawings were prepared and ready for delivery on the agreed date. The owner, Chester, is both professional and affable at the same time - making it easy to communicate. For those interested in the fee aspect of this transaction, as a client/customer, I can say this firm's price was both reasonable and competitive. We were fully satisfied and Chester's efforts and performance not only met but exceeded both our desires and expectations. We would retain this firm for any future work with complete confidence.

I would definitelyy recommend Chester Chlebek, architect, to anyone who is remodeling a historic home. He is prompt and very professional in every aspect of design and execution, including experience with Oak Park village approvals of building permits. He is flexible and attentive to owners' wishes and plans. One word of advice: be sure to be very explicit in describing your expectations to ensure that your express wishes will be followed. We experienced one unepected change in masonry work that was not to our specifications, but otherwise no complaints on Chlebek Architects' excellence in worksmanship and value.

As an architect & builder in Oak Park we extends our services beyond the design stage, taking responsibility for managing the subcontractors with respect to the owner.
The architect & builder hired by a client is in charge of creating a design & project execution that meets the requirements of that client and provides a facility suitable to the required use. The architect must talk with and question the client to determine all the requirements and nuances of the project. These records, called an application or brief, is important to making a plan that meets all the needs of the owner, and is a guide for the architect in creating the design concept.
