Carex Design Group

We just did a huge project with Carex Design Group and Anchored Construction, and I highly recommend them. We did a large deck, outdoor kitchen, hot tub, fire pit, and a large shed attached to our home. It was important to us that it all blend into our current home and natural surroundings. Carex Designs met with us, listened to our needs/wants, and created an incredible design plan. They worked with us on all changes big and small from “can you add a shed” to “can I see what this color deck looks like.” They worked with our budget to figure out the scope and then created comprehensive design plans. Then they worked with Anchored Construction to make the plan a reality. There were a lot of moving parts! The project included work on decking, foundation, electrical, gas, plumbing, appliances, stone work, finishing, and so much more. With any project of this size, issues do pop up but they were handled quickly by the team. We are thrilled with the results and love our new outdoor space!

Bob, Daniel, and the gang at Carex made our dreams come true. They took a complicated project -- a pool on a large but awkwardly shaped lot in a historic neighborhood that has very few pools -- and created a masterpiece. They handled beyond-our-control setbacks with professionalism and reassurance and completed the project in an exceptionally timely manner (construction began in January and was 100% complete by May). They provided sufficient hand-holding when we needed it, but also let our design vision come through...the finished project speaks for itself. Do not hesitate to work with Carex--it's hard to imagine how you would be disappointed. They exceeded our expectations tenfold.

Our family has dreamed of a backyard overhaul for several years, but have always struggled with getting our dreams on paper. Originally, we did not seek out a landscape architect, but after multiple failed attempts to contact contractors, we decided to reach out to the Carex team. What a great decision! Looking back, a lanscape architect was exactly what we needed. The beautiful drawings and animations that Bob and team created have given us confidence in our plan and reassurance that the money invested will create the backyard we have dreamed of. Carex is top-notch. They take the time to understand exactly what you want and make the planning process not only painless but exciting. They will make sure that the design is exactly what you want for your home. They designed our patio (pictured) and we get so many compliments that we are having them design our pool as well. Robert and Hailey did a landscape plan for our new home at Tennessee National. We haven't planted plants yet, because we are working on approval to start building, but working with them has been a real joy. We loved their very first draft. Every species that we said we like was incorporated into the plan. The hardscape was very clever and gave us ideas we hadn't thought of. Their turnaround times were short and they helped us with a problem that developed later in the project (not caused by them). They were recommended to us by our builder and now we know why.

I've known the team at Carex for about seven years and have worked with them on multiple projects, both projects that they've designed for our clients and projects we've completed for design/build work they've managed. We had always wanted to transform the small cement slab and hilly backyard behind our house into something more functional. The Carex group did just that for us, and they added an incredible amount of creativity in their planning and beauty to the landscape in our now usable backyard and patio. Communication was excellent, and they made us feel at ease with their decisions and with their reception to our feedback each step of the way. They respected our budget and made the entire process easy with coordination between different moving parts and people involved! As a busy mom trying to keep kids entertained but away from constant use of electronic devices, my FAVORITE part was that this new patio and putting green have gotten my kids to finally put their devices down and to immediately play outside each afternoon! Our 7-year-old daughter even wrote a short story at school this past spring (to our surprise!) with some great quotes that summarize how excited that she and the rest of our family have been with a job well done by Carex... : "One day last winter, my dad told me about a plan. Not just a normal plan, but a backyard plan! I wondered what the changes were going to be! Dad told the family that we would have a putting green, a pergola, and a wall the separated the putting green from bushes and flowers! I had to wait for it to be built, but the end results were worth it! I love it because the grass looks too green, and there are a lots of plants! When I first saw it, I did cartwheels until I was so dizzy that I fell to the ground! Now we have neighborhood parties and friends over to relax. It felt nice to have such an awesome backyard!" Carex Design Group provided a great landscape plan for our residential property. As a professional in the green industry, I was very particular about what I wanted and what the end product would be. They conducted a site visit, listened to my ideas, developed a scope of work and provided a great price on the design. The final landscape plan was amazing and pieced together in a way that I could do different phases to the project. I will be doing all my own install and the plan is easy to understand and will work great. Bob and staff are great. I work many landscape architects in town and Carex Design Group is reasonable and will meet your expectations.
