In 1999, Barbara designed and managed the redesign of our kitchen and other rooms. It was a major remodel and we couldn't have managed it without her expertise. The classic design has stood the test of time, and we still receive compliments on it!

Barbara did our kitchen and bathrooms 23 years ago and we have enjoyed them ever since and basked in the compliments even to this day. Now, our high end appliances are starting to need replacement and we realize we just want to replace the same and not change a thing because everything is still current today. Just wanted to say thanks to Barbara.

Our bathroom had to be redesigned and was badly damaged. We could have tried to get it done ourselves but after dealing with building a garage with a suite, my husband said we needed a designer. I was reluctant. I am creative and could not see myself working with someone who could not envision the bathroom I had in mind. I searched for many hours on Pinterest but knew I could not implement those ideas. I got on to Houzz to find someone in my area and there she was, Barbara Wahler, well educated in the field and right in our area. Her knowledge of design, products and colour, made the plans go quickly and the results amazing. She has an intuitive nature and was able to see my ideas and put them into action. Even though we live on an island, which in itself creates delivery and construction issues, we had a huge amount of snow. Barbara was able to get things done. She contracted incredible tradespeople who respect her, their profession and get the job done. My suggestions and ideas were always taken into consideration and supported. Barbara’s attention to detail made the transition from empty room to relaxation spa flow effortlessly on our part. My husband and I are very happy with the results of our master bathroom, it is even better than I could ever imagine. Thank you Barbara for your patience, expertise and professional conduct dealing with us.

Our 20+ year-old kitchen was badly in need of new appliances, sink, counter tops, flooring and a general upgrade. After perusing Houzz for many hours, I realized that there was more to this than I had realized. I searched for kitchen designers in my area and found Barbara Wahler. We met and we determined that her help in this project would be invaluable. Starting with a colour idea based on my mother's Quebecois vintage "blue" letter box, she helped me design my dream kitchen. She came with samples for counter tops, flooring, lighting, hardware and paint, and ideas of how to make our kitchen flow better. She listened to us, and steered us the right direction when we moved off course ! The time and energy she saved us was immeasurable as she knew the products and had determined from our meetings our "style" This ended up being an environmentally friendly project as well as she showed us how we could use and re-purpose many of our existing cabinets. After ordering some new cabinets that would take 6 + weeks to be ready, we realized that we were going to be away for most of the construction period. No problem she said! She would oversee the project. She did so marvelously with some serious challenges to overcome due to our home being fairly old. She worked with all the trades people with firmness tempered with tact, and we returned home to an almost complete kitchen. Two more weeks and we were done. Our new kitchen is exactly as I had wanted with an expanded island counter to accommodate now all our grown children and visiting grandchildren. Cooking is a pleasure! Colours and lighting have helped make this the focal point of our home. Barbara was wonderful throughout this project. We are eyeing a bathroom to be redone in the future and will also work with her on that project. Thank you Barbara.

We contacted Barbara after buying our home on Bowen Island in March, 2014. We saw the house, fell in love with it, and then flew back to Toronto where my husband and I were both still working. We knew what parts of the house we wanted changed and we wanted it done before we moved in August. Working with Barbara long distance was an incredible experience. All we had to go on was the memory of our 40 minute tour and the realtor's MLS video of the house. Barbara totally redesigned and rebuilt the master bedroom, ensuite bathroom, powder room, laundry room, and his and her closets. She also managed the replacement of the floors and lighting in the existing house, and found creative and practical solutions to a number of technical issues that emerged during the renovation. In short, she became our contractor, designer, and friend over the 6 months it took to complete this project. Barbara's experience and relationships with local trades people made this rebuild happen flawlessly and beautifully. It was a creative process for us and a wonderful introduction to the Island. We would unhesitatingly recommend Barbara as a gifted designer who will watch over every detail of your project and work tirelessly to make the end result everything you want.
