Built Custom Carpentry

I contacted multiple companies on Custommade.com as I had a home project that needed a custom touch and Built Custom Carpentry was the one company that was willing to rise to the occasion and make me feel confident in their abilities. Michael replied to my request and came out for a free on site visit very promptly. We had given him the general idea that we wanted to go and from there he let his expertise shine. We were working to complete a newly constructed granite split stone fireplace and Walnut mantle beam. To complete the room we wanted 6 floating shelves and 2 floating cabinets (all walnut to match the mantle beam) to go on either side of our fire place. Michael saw the vision we wanted and then offered his expert opinions and are we ever glad to have worked with him. Michael is truly great at what he does and is extremely pleasant to work with. His finished product is breathtaking and unique in its own right. To make things more complex, I asked if they could accomplish my project 1 month before they projected as we were hosting a large gathering and somehow Michael figured out a way to make it happen. To say we are pleased with the finished product is an understatement. Should you ever need any custom woodwork, you need to call Built Custom Carpentry, period!

The previous owners of my house had built-in cabinetry in the family room that only allowed for a 40 inch TV. My husband and I wanted a 60 inch TV and reached out to Michael after receiving his name from a colleague. Right from the initial meeting, Michael was very helpful with different ideas at different cost points: either filling in the existing built-ins and having the TV mounted above the fireplace; ripping down the existing built-ins and building new cabinetry in the same corner which would be able to accommodate a larger TV; or ripping down the existing built-ins, building completely new built-ins, and mounting the TV above the fireplace. Michael had many different ideas and showed us drawings for several different options. He was very patient with us even as we figured out the direction that we would like to go, and never put pressure on us to make a decision or to pick the more expensive options. He came to our house multiple times (at our request) during the design phase, and worked very well with the interior designer that we ended up hiring. In the weeks leading up to installation as well as during the installation process, Michael worked directly with the electrician and the AV consultant to make sure that the entire process ran smoothly. The cabinets he designed, built, and installed came out beautifully, and everything came in slightly below budget and stayed right on schedule. Michael cared tremendously about the finished product and our satisfaction, and came to our house multiple times after installation was complete to fix very minor issues with caulk and with the shelf pins being slightly off. When all was said and done, we could not be happier with the finished product and that is all thanks to Michael's skill, attention to detail, and high degree of customer service.

Michael is such a fantastic partner to work with...he is extremely detailed-oriented when it comes to his craft, and is an awesome communicator with clients with different levels of expertise in this type of work. He educated us on different methods of carpentry, how to stay within our budget, and how to express our vision for the esthetics and function of the projects. Build helped us envision exactly what we wanted in our custom built-ins by prompting us with thought provoking questions about design and look. They further solidified these ideas by pictures found on a variety of social media websites, so we could see exactly the design they had in mind.
