Some of the many projects that By The Blade has done for us are featured here on Houzz. And while the transformation of our outdoor environment is obvious, and the daily enjoyment by us and our family and guests is likewise obvious, My review today is not about the original work but rather how well they stand behind it even when there are circumstances beyond their control. The beautiful sidewalk and grill patio shown on this page was magnificent when installed five years ago. However, a few pieces of the flagstone developed issues and degraded. This was not BtB's fault. Their normally top-grade supplier received rock from a quarry that was inconsistent but not something that could be seen during installation. Eventually, the quarry was closed even though the vast majority of the rock was fine. Lucky us, we had a few bad pieces that broke, cracked, and flaked. Today, a By The Blade team is making significant repairs to the grill patio and is completely replacing the front walk. My only out-of-pocket is for upgraded joints in the back using a brand new material and an upgrade to a different style of stone in the front. They could have easily walked away from this after all this time and sent me to another contractor who would have charged thousands for the same work. Anyone can stand behind their own work, but to stand behind someone else's natural product after 5 years is service at another level.

The best, hands down, at customer service, professionalism & start to finish project execution! They have the friedliest staff, excellent follow-up and take exceptioanl pride in their work. We continue to use them for all our needs & no job is too big or small for them. Quality is paramount in every part of detail of their work & it shows! Our yard is the crowning jewel to our beautiful historic home on one of KC's most prominent streets.

We contacted By The Blade because they had done extensive work for our neighbor, who spoke very highly of them. We had struggled with a whole yard drainage problem that NOBODY else could solve for us. We spoke to other companies, to the city, you name it. There was simply nowhere for excess water to go. By The Blade not only came up with a plan to fix our infrastructure issue, but turned it into a thing of beauty. They constructed a lovely waterfall to assist in evaporation of our excess rain water. They are not cheap. But they are resourceful, adaptive, responsive and professional. I think they can do ANYTHING!

By The Blade designed and installed our front landscape. Their landscape architect listened and collaborated with us to finalize a design plan that was perfect for our busy family. They installed a beautiful cobblestone creekbed with stone slab bridge to redirect rainwater away from our home and toward the street's drainage system. We love the assortment of low-maintenance, hearty trees and plants that continue to thrive and add layers of nearly year-round color to our home. The assortment of trees planted in our back yard create the perfect natural barrier between our home and the road that runs behind us - they, too, were specifically selected for their size, color and drought tolerance. The landscape project manager has checked our property several times since installation and replaced a few plants that didn't survive last summer's brutal Midwest heat. This company's employees love what they do and provide high quality work and outstanding customer service.

By The Blade has been providing all of our yard and landscape services for over 10 years, and we have been very pleased with their service and responsiveness. Last year, we decided to tear out our entire backyard and start all over, Patrick and Smitty developed a proposal that turned our space into a woodland retreat! Starting with a flagstone patio, they laid out winding paths of crushed gravel bordered by decorative stone, river rock for much needed drainage, and sublime landscaping which included trees, shrubs, flowering perennials, ferns and ground cover - Beyond beautiful! Since than they have cared for the space, replacing planting that did not thrive and adding extra plants where needed. We can't say enough about their work! We are so pleased!

The team at By The Blade, has truly transformed the outdoors of my home into the perfect living space. The professionalism displayed by everyone on the team gives me the comfort that when we begin to design a project that the end result will look exactly as I expected. By The Blade has transformed our home's exterior and we no longer think twice about our outdoor living space. It is a beautiful place for our family to enjoy.
