They project ended up costing twice what they told us it would be, though we made only very small changes and there were no unexpected issues. They were always eager to get upfront checks but very slow to do the work.

Our experience with Bonterra was comical at best! They were willing and able to take our deposit for our project immediately....but that was about it. 6 months after signing off on the final design and materials list, there was no plan of action to complete the project in a timely fashion, as they just wanted our money. It became VERY evident that they wanted to take the deposit for the 2nd floor gut rehab project ($500K project) before starting the smaller project, with the intent to "hold" our spot. When in reality all they wanted needed was the money to keep their doors open. After seeing through the overarching intent I requested our deposit back....after a bit of back and forth, I was able to get most of it back and find a reputable construction firm to help us.

We hired Steve in October 2014, for a Master Bath/Kitchen and overall remodel of the main floor of our house. Project started in January of 2015 and in August of 2015 we are still not completed and now due to financial circumstances and the IRS Steve has closed Bonterra and shut his doors with our money no less! I am still without a Kitchen and Master Bath. Steve Kirsch is not to be trusted.

We initially hired Steve for several small projects in our home. We were so pleased with his work that we gave him the job of deconverting our 2 flat back to a single family residence, which included adding a 3rd floor bath, creating a master suite with ensuite master bath and walk-in closet, etc. The home came out beautifully and we were very pleased. We particularly love Steve's flair for color and balance.

Bonterra were recently fired by me from a remodel job in Highland Park. They were three months behind schedule and showed no urgency to complete the job. Subsequent to their firing, we soon discovered that much of the work was done poorly: for instance every window needed to be removed and reinstalled because they were done improperly; similar problems witH the plumbing wall studs, HVAC, occurred. The wrong Tyvek was installed by him. We also learned that he filed several false lien waivers, didn't pay subcontractor (which are now threatening to lien the property). He took money to order doors, for millwork supplies, and for power upgrade permit and never ordered the materials.

Steve and his crew did a great job on our special project. Thank you so much for your creativity and professionalism. Great Job!

Bonterra renovated our home covering all bed rooms, living room, dining room, laundry room, and basement. Bonterra crew is well organized, thorough in their execution, and we are very happy with their workmanship

Steve and his crew did an excellent job completely renovating our entire apartment, custom kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, custom closets and several built in cabinets and wall units. Work is to the highest standard and Steve and his team were a pleasure to work with. Great job thanks Bonterra.

I met Steve at a motorcycle training event. In the course of conversation, he explained how he could perform custom wood working projects, that no job was too small or impossible to do. I hired Steve to do a mirror image of a decorative design from a hand carved and detailed engraving to a wooden blank of the same size and material. Steve returned the finished project later in the year. I highly recommend Steve as I could no one here that would undertake such a project. I was looking for years for someone to perform the finish work necessary and Steve took on the project. This was not a machined image, this was hand drawn and chiseled as the detail could not be replicated. Thanks Steve!

We purchased a house in April 2012 and engaged Bonterra to make several changes and improvements. We were very satisfied with Steve's design ideas and the workmanship of the crews. They were very open to any ideas or suggestions we had. We have used Bonterra a few more times since on a couple smaller projects, and continue to be very pleased with the final results.

We enjoyed working with Steve and his company; he took the time to understand our needs and flow of life, then offered his expertise and executed a nice design.

Bonterra was a pleasure to work with and the quality of work they produced was of amazing quality. From coffered ceilings to wainscoting to built ins, vanities and trim the work impresses everyone who comes to our new home. The whole Bonterra team was always responsive and talented. Thank you!
