Brainerd Hardwoods

Brainerd Hardwoods built us a custom door jamb and fitted hardware to a refinished door. While we were initially excited to work with them on a custom job, we were ultimately disappointed as the jamb was not built tight enough to the door. There is a large gap with light shining through around most of the door that cannot be fixed with weather stripping and it is drafty (if the wind is correct snow can blow in around the door). This is a real headache to try and fix now (problem was not discovered until after home was completed as they were slow delivering the door). They have really created a long term problem for us.

You won't go wrong with Brainerd Hardwoods. Very knowledgable about wood species and easy to work with. They take the time to get you what you want and what you need.

We had the greatest experience working with Brainerd Hardwoods and especially JP. He was exceptionally easy to work with with! He understood the feel of the home we were looking to build and had great suggestions. we felt completely comfortable to have him design our custom doors, trim and railings. They turn out perfectly. He also had a great knowledge of all the different woods that were available to us and what would work best for us to achieve our look. Our house is almost entirely wood, ceilings, walls and some floors so JP was essential in helping us pick the different woods that would compliment each other. He was also considerate of our budget and our time frame. We couldn't be more satisfied with every aspect of JP's involvement in our home. He is truly a craftsman!!! JP is extremely knowledgeable about fine woodworking. He was easy to work with and had great ideas that enabled us to create a custom wood interior that was within our budget and exceeded our expectations. We shared pictures of our ideas and he translated them into practical solutions. We also appreciate the samples he created to help us make better choices.
