BH Design+Build

We selected BH Design Build for our finished basement project after considering a number of builders. We definitely made the right choice and we are thrilled with the work and outcome of the project and we would give BH Design Build the highest recommendation. The entire staff was professional, courteous and attentive to our needs. Ben developed a design that perfectly fit our needs while Lew and Chris provided top not notch work. We have received numerous compliments on the project from friends and neighbors. BH Design Build would be our first choice for any future projects, highly recommended!

We were thrilled with BH Design & Build and absolutely love our new basement! Every single person we came in contact with was polite, accommodating, patient and a skilled craftsman. We had a variety of small "change orders" throughout the process and they helped us weigh our pros and cons and make decisions. The guys felt like family by the end of the project. The one "regret" I have is that we didn't spend more time selecting our colors and materials (flooring, granite, carpet, paint color) . . . we spent about 2 hours in their showroom and felt a little overwhelmed. In retrospect I wish I would have requested to make a return visit to confirm our choices . . . not that we're not pleased with the overall result but I wish I would have spent more time on that part of the process. Overall highly recommend - you won't regret working with their team!

We used BH Design for our Home Renovation and In-Law Suite Addition project. It was a very large project with the In-Law Suite addition including a three car garage with a two bedroom in-law suite apartment above it that was accessible from our current home through our family room. Overall it was a great experience from beginning to end. The planning, scheduling and completion of the project was handled very professionally and meet the timelines we had agreed upon. We were very happy with the response we received to questions and concerns along the way. All items were addressed quickly and completely. We felt vert supported during the project and were always able to speak with someone directly when we needed too. We were also impressed with the knowledge, confidence and personal touch they provided. I would highly recommend BH Designs for any of your home renovations / additions needs.

We had a large project that included the addition of roughly 1,500 sq ft to our home. The challenge was to create a design that felt like the house was always intended to look this way, versus a nice addition added. I could not be happier with the final outcome, and most importantly the process and team that got us to completion is what set this project apart. Going into this project I heard horror story after horror story regarding similar projects. I am proud to say that stemming from Brock and teams communications, constant walk-thru's, willingness for availability to be on site to discuss details --- I truly could not be more pleased with my experience from beginning to end. The only critique I would have is the lack of support on the interior decorator side of things, but we were able to work thru this with Sherwin Williams, Pottery Barn and other service providers --- but I would have preferred a one stop shop. It has been (6+) months since my project completed and the team continues to follow-up on the work and ensuring my project met/meets expectations. As with any project not everything went 100% as planned, but the constant communications and the options provided as resolution allowed in most cases for a better solution than originally planned. I can't speak high enough of the work done by BH --- and in particular Brock, Jason and Chris. They helped our family design and build our dream house that we can grow into and call home for many, many years! I would STRONGLY recommend BH Design if you are looking to do a renovation or any other home building project. If it is important to you work with a company who does what they say, who shows the attention and pride in the details and who exceeds expectations this is the company for you...I am so glad that I made the decision to work with Ben and Brock and will use them again in future projects!

BH helped us work a miracle. We went into a home search knowing that we would probably want to undertake a remodel before moving in. They partnered with us during our home search, even coming out to review several homes before we signed with them. They helped us envision what could or couldn't be done with our budget, and held our hands through a tight schedule of designing, project planning, and execution of a remodel on a house before we even closed on the property, and through to completion. They stuck to their timeline despite negotiating several challenges we weren't expecting, and kept to budget. They surprised me with their knowledge, professionalism and quality of work. They have great relationships they leverage to make sure the right people are handling each aspect of the project. I cannot sing enough praises about Ben, Brock, Jon and crew. There was always someone to talk to when questions came up, and they made sure our interests came first. All in all, a wonderful experience and I would recommend for anyone looking to turn a house into a home.

All subs used did excellent work, kept me informed with times and dates, cleaned up always and were honest and considerate. Our carpenter was Chris Shustack and Lew Sagner did the tile work. Overall, I was very happy with my finished project.

We used BH Design + Build to do several projects in 2013. Our home was built in 1987 and was due for a remodel. They did a great job on remodeling 2 bathrooms. Very nice tile work. BH also replaced our siding, shutters, soffits & added a portico with tin roof and gutters for the whole home. They also added a stone facade to the front of our home. The entire crew was professional and respectful of our home while they were here. The neighbors say our home is the most attractive in the neighborhood now. New front door with side lights was installed where there was originally a single door. They also replaced windows for us.

Needed siding, gutters and roof replaced following a major hail storm. After insurance estimates company kept in close contract until scheduled work was completed.

-Kitchen remodel with new appliances cabinets and granite counters. -Converted bathroom into closet. -Master bath remodel with no door walk-in shower with glass wall.

BH Design provided me with an excellent master bath remodeling plan. Their choice of fixtures, flooring etc. were sufficiently varied to view and choose from many levels of quality/cost. They were clear regarding the project's cost and kept to the estimated time table and cost. The staff was friendly, professional and very reliable.

Jon Detwiler, of Berks Home Design and Build, was instrumental in bringing our plans for our "right-sized" home to life. Jon patiently guided us through the home design process, explaining everything from the impact of building codes to structural engineering in ways that we could understand. As we entered the interior design selection phase of our home, Jon offered us great suggestions to help us attain the look we wanted within our budget. His knowledge of products and his sense of design were invaluable to us. Throughout the process of building our home, Jon communicated with us in a timely manner, addressing our questions and requests professionally, which put us at ease allowing us to enjoy the process. Ours was a true custom-designed and built home on our own lot, and I felt like we were working with a custom home building company; yet with the expertise, experience, and resources of a major player in the home-building business! I felt like we were able to get all that we wanted, and enjoyed the interaction with the design staff. We have been glad to recommend BH to my friends over the three years we've been in our true dream home.
