Bernardus Teklenburg of Beckwith Galleries really assisted us with St. Matthew's Church's recent online auction. We had received several carpets of different vintages and origins from different suppliers and really needed to have a realistic evaluation of their condition, origin and their value. Mr. Teklenburg exceeded our expectations with the thoroughness of his knowledge. He also provided us with some observations that really assisted us in the marketing of the carpets, all of which sold at prices similar to those he suggested. There has been such fluidity in carpet prices that it was valuable to have current assessments of value. He also totally surprised us by donating a few more items to our auction, all of which proved very popular.

Bernie helped us choose carpets that worked in our home. He took pleasure in showing us all the options. We took home a couple carpets to try them in our space. Prior to making an appointment with Bernie, we shopped for weeks in other retailers in our area and found nothing comparable with the selection and quality he carries. Bernie is very knowledgeable, no pressure and easy to work with.

I have had 3 carpets from Beckwith Galleries over the last 25 years… still have all 3 and I love them as much today as the day they came into our home. They still look pristine and I have 2 dogs. One was damaged by a new puppy chewing phase; the fringe was damaged and Bernie had a contact for its repair. I delivered it to Beckwith Galleries and he organized the repair, it only took a week! They are also very good for being the go between for cleaning services. I have them professionally cleaned every 2 years. Not too many businesses show as much interest in the after market purchase but Bernie at Beckwith knows how to have people come back (service and quality) is key. Anne Denault

Can’t speak highly enough of the wonderful service provided by Bernie. He cleaned and repaired beautifully a hand knotted rug for us and it looks like new. Have 5-6 Persian Carpets, Tabriz and Bidjar which I thought needed cleaning. Bernie came to house to collect, including one under 6' piano. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He told me 2-3 did not require professional cleaning just a good vacuum and beating. He also told me info about them I did not know, including fact that two Tabriz were wool and silk, not pure wool as I had thought. Got the three he took back today. They look great. For professional and honest service, this is a very safe bet

My husband and I can't praise Bernie Teklenburg of Beckwith Galleries enough. His service, knowledge and professionalism were outstanding. We were looking to buy a new Persian rug for our family room and ended up buying four! A Persian Moud Mashad for our living room, an Indo Gabbeh for the family room and two Gabbeh Irans for our entrance ways. We were that impressed with his pricing, which we considered very reasonable. Bernie also took away two Chinese Silk rugs and our dining room Persian Mashad for repair and a re-dye. The results were amazing and again, very reasonable. We researched and visited other rug dealers but found the experience daunting. Nothing compared to dealing with Bernie. It was a pleasure working with Bernie; his energy knows no bounds!
