We hired Barbara to help refresh our house which had not been updated for over twenty years. Using our furniture and the same footprint, Barbara brought new life into our rooms. Little changes such as new wall paint colors and accent pillows made a huge difference. Other changes such as new carpet, reupholstering of furniture and the addition or remixing of furniture and artwork, transformed the look and feel of our home. Barbara also helped with our kitchen renovation, creating a beautiful new room that blended well with adjacent rooms. In addition to her own expertise, Barbara has a rolodex of highly professional and expert craftsmen who can help with every aspect of your projects. Barbara provided a painless facelift that turn our old home into a younger and brighter refuge. We highly recommend Barbara. I am naturally more oriented to visual and tactile interfaces, and was struggling to pull together a design for my house on my own. I am so happy to bring Barbara into my project. She is a master of color and textures. She is wonderful to work with. incredibly talented and creative, and works efficiently. Shortly after out initial walkthrough we walked thru each room reviewing her design, paint colors, and fabric and flooring samples. I was very pleased with her selections. There were a couple of items that took more effort to come to consensus on. But we worked together to find the component(s) that I was happy with. I am extremely pleased with the end product. It turned our much better than I ever envisioned and would highly recommend her.

Barbara is a color genius! Her ability to select the most beautiful colors and match fabrics is uncanny. She has applied her magic to nearly every room in my house and each room is unique and beautiful. I have turned to Barbara again and again over more than 20 years for each new project. She’s extremely efficient with her time, easy to work with, and extremely responsive to calls, emails and texts.

Barbara helped us decorate our entire house. Her taste and skill are extraordinary. We had previous decorators, but when we met Barbara, we immediately realized how much more talented and creative she was. Barbara quickly figured out what would work for us. We are a couple and one of us is more modern and one more traditional in taste. Barbara paid attention to what we said. She asked us what pieces of furniture we wanted to keep. She also paid attention to cost. For example she suggested we reupholster our couch instead of buying a new one. She picked a beautiful fabric and padding and it looks great. She also reupholstered our old dining room chairs to bring them to life again. Every piece of furniture including lamps and light fixtures she suggested were all wonderful. Barbara is practical also. She asked us if we used our living room. We said we only used it when guests came. She suggested we get a reading chair and light so that we could use it ourselves not just when we had guests. The paint colors she chose were unbelievable. We love them and they transformed our rooms. Barbara is also very clever, she came up with a great idea to update our old banisters instead of replacing them. We continue to call Barbara whenever we need something redone or updated. We think she is terrific.

Barbara is an expert in her field! Her knowledge is extensive and her work impeccable. She was able to completely redo our house’s entire interior color scheme in one day and even connected us to the contractor that competed the work within 3 weeks. It was unbelievable, truly the easiest and most gratifying work we’ve had done to our home in years! Highly recommend!

Barbara Margolis is an amazing decorator!!! This is the second time I’ve worked with her, and hopefully it won’t be the last. I give her the highest possible recommendation. She has a wonderful sense of color, she understands my tastes, and her designs far exceeded my highest expectations. Barbara designed a kitchen which the contractor said was one of the most beautiful kitchens he’d ever seen, and she perfectly designed the adjoining family room.

Barbara completely transformed our lake home. It was a home that had not been updated in 20 or more years. She helped with the actual redesign of the space and selected furnishings that are beautiful and enhance the design. Barbara works collaboratively and replies to emails and phone calls promptly. The house is out of town from where Barbara and we live yet it was accomplished efficiently from long distance and with her frequent communication with our contractor. In all it was a stress free experience. The house is gorgeous and comfortable.

We were focused on a living room re-do but on her first visit, Barbara toured our entire house. She made recommendations to move things around or otherwise make small changes that have made a huge difference in how all the rooms look. She had a vision for our living room (which is very large with a high vaulted ceiling and exposed beams) that made this space comfortable and cozy. She is very knowledgable about color and works quickly.

Barbara gets it done!! Barbara has excellent taste and works efficiently. She has a good eye for color. She is quick to come up with a plan and keeps it within budget. She has completed several projects in our house over the years (2 bedrooms, bath, living room, hall, dining room, family room) and we have been thrilled with each one. She is a delight to work with.
