BAM Water Wise Landscapes

We were looking for a company to create a drought tolerant landscape to replace the dead lawn in front of our house. We did not have very concrete ideas in mind and were looking for someone who could help us brainstorm ways to turn the dead space into something attractive. BAM created a unique plan for us, incorporating elements we were interested in such as a flagstone path and shade for the front windows. They also added elements that really transformed the look of the space, such as a wall to split the sloped yard into two levels, allowing for different looks at each level. They also chose plants that would flower at different times, adding different color elements at different times of year. We are very happy with our new front yard, and we've received a lot of complements from neighbors. Everyone associated with BAM was courteous and professional, and they spent time communicating with us about the plan before starting to make sure it was what we wanted. The plan cost more than we originally intended, but we are extremely happy with the results.

BAM Water Wise Landscapes did such a fantastic job with our front yard last Fall 2015, we decided to have them come back this Fall 2016 to design and build our backyard. We hired BAM Water Wise Landscapes after contacting a number of landscape contractors. The others were either too proud of their work (high price) or did not respond promptly to a request for a build estimate. The BAM representative came to take some measurements of our property, and to gather our preference. Within a day we had a rough estimate that was within our budget. They began the project very soon after providing an estimate, and finished it on time and on budget. We received a concept and planting plan before they began. It was clear that they knew how to complete the project in a way that respects the type of environment we inhabit in southern California. The result was a spectacular Chaparral landscape that will thrive in the brutal southern California climate that we sometimes experience.

BAM had already done a bunch of water-wise landscapes around town, including a big project at the local elementary school, which they did pro-bono I believe. So there were plenty examples of their work that we drove by several times a week which gave us a good idea of what they were capable of. And we were impressed. No two projects are exactly the same, which is nice. They do a good job of catering each to the specific owner's wishes. We weren't super particular, but when we did have issues or changes, they handled them with ease. Usually exceeding our expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Not absolutely sure about the date, I know it was either the summer of '13 or '14 that they did our front yard. Incidentally, our water bill went from $80-100 a month down to the minimum charge with the change from lawn to xeriscaping.

We hired BAM to re-design the landscape of our very large back property into a water-wise landscape. Their crew of skilled men, developed a “California paradise” including incorporating much color, vegetables, and fruit trees into the extensive landscape. They have developed many unique creations and designs such as creative walkways with pavers and vegetable beds from our “recycled” concrete sidewalk. Our goal was initially to simply remove the grass and save water. The pleasure and knowledge we have gained working with this company was unbelievable. We highly recommend hiring BAM for all aspects of landscaping design, gardening, and maintenance of your property. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We would recommend giving BAM a call for the best value for a beautiful landscape that is also water wise.

I interviewed a few firms before deciding on BAM to help me revive a sagging drought tolerant landscape. I was impressed that Andrew kept our appointment and listened to my list of items needing attention in front and back yards. Together we prioritized according to urgency and budget. For each job/phase, Andrew gave me an itemized estimate - every charge was explained. If any job needed more time/materials, Andrew told me first and did not proceed until we were on the same page. In less than an hour, Blake assessed our drip and sprinkler situation and told me what we needed to fix (valves, timer), then gave me a few options from basic to deluxe. These irrigation fixes will save a lot of water - great for environment and our bill! As other reviewers have remarked, when a job is finished under budget, the final bill is lower than the estimate. Everyone in this company that I met was highly professional. It was a pleasure having the crew here for a few days - those guys work hard!! I'm sticking with BAM for monthly maintenance- I am impressed so far with Alex, the person who will be coming twice a month to keep things looking awesome. These are good guys. They are honest and friendly and respectful. And they know what they are doing - I cannot overemphasize that last point. I recommend them 100%

The landscaping looks great. BAM did a great job--the project was completed quickly in a professional manner. The materials used were of the highest quality. BAM has an excellent knowledge of current irrigation technology. It was easy to work with BAM. Our input was considered and implemented in the final plan. The workers were friendly.
