Architected is a small, Melbourne based design studio, commited to a personal service. We will provide one-on-one advice and guidance for your project, along with unique design skills and space planning ability. The company was born out of a perceived need for accessible architectural services. The director, Stewart Brooks was regularly being asked for advice from friends and acquaintances regarding their own properties. Through this experience he realised there was a need for good architectural advice either during the purchase of a property or before embarking on a renovation or extension. Many people are reluctant to engage an architect for the entire project due to budgetary concerns, when all they need is some sound architectural advice at the right time. The Concept Design Service caters for this need. Only a limited number of full projects are taken on each year. These projects are chosen not always for their size- but mainly due to the clients open mindedness and design aspirations. At Architected we understand all client’s requirements are different, and all existing buildings have unique challenges. Through our extensive experience we always come up with exciting design solutions that allow a client to understand the potential of their home quickly and in a cost effective manner. We tailor spaces for their inhabitants and how they live, that are energy efficient, and reflect the owner’s true personality.

We work on a range of projects from small renovations to new home design. We offer a Concept Design Service, for a fixed fee, to client son all budgets. Due to the size of the practice we only take on a limited number of projects each year to ensure we maintain high quality standards.

We came across Architected via social media and from the first meeting found Stewart to be friendly, creative and easy to deal with. He listened to our needs and accordingly came up with a design that ticked all the boxes. 18 months later we are really happy with the design and outcome from working with Architected.

We engaged Stewart to design a renovation for our house. I couldn't recommend him more highly. We had very tight timeframes, and he took it in his stride and delivered all we asked for. He has a great vision for what can be done in a space, and is then able to execute that. Our builder was very impressed with the quality of his plans, and note that they were as good as he had seen, thereby making his job easier - he has since engaged Stewart's services for other work. To top it all off, Stewart is a lovely guy, without ego, and is incredibly easy to deal with.

We worked with Stewart together on a Renovation project and really enjoyed the experience. He has excellent vision for his designs, with great attention to detail and is very aware of his clients needs within the spaces he creates. I was very impressed with his easy going style, particularly when working with the clients, and dealing with any small issues when they invariable crop up on renovations. I would not hesitate, (and often do), to recommend Stewart and Architected for any projects where clients are looking for an Architect who has great skills, clever ideas and is relaxed to work with for everyone involved. It means a lot to a Builder to work with a professional of Stewart's calibre.

Stewart has exceeded our expectations and we are so thrilled with our newly renovated family home. We initially met with a few builders onsite who advised us to tear down our 1920's Edwardian and rebuild. Stewart however, could see a lot of potential in our little old weatherboard house and convinced us to restore the original house and extend. We are so glad we did! He has given us a beautiful, functional, family home that not only looks great but also creates a sense of calm with it's earthy tones and lots of natural light even on grey winter days. The whole renovation experience was enjoyable and Stewart listened to our needs and was open to our suggestions & feedback throughout the entire process. He also worked well within our budget. Highly recommend!
