Having used a few interior designers before, working with Alykhan and his team was the best decision we made. He came up with great ideas, whilst working with our own thoughts and provided different matches. He'd continue making changes (not that there were many) until we were happy and the the end result was amazing. We always get compliments from family and friends. We had worked with AVD for our main floor and have him back this year to do the rest of the house.

Complete and utter disappointment and waste of money. Thoughtlessly threw random mismatched pieces that didn’t even go together. When I questioned how this is going to possibly work, he said I didn’t trust his artistic direction and quit. Insisting I pay pretty much the entire quote even though the work was nowhere near finished and now am stuck with a bunch of IKEA grade pieces that I supremely overpaid for that don’t even match. Also, I caught him marking up pieces even after paying him a fee to purchase and share his discount. Also, I hired him because I was pregnant and wanted it done quickly. After almost a half a year, there was little done. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone who has a space beyond a dorm room to decorate. FYI most stores offer free design services and you will probably get someone who cares A LOT more. These are the places he’s getting stuff from anyway. Plus they always have sales and Aly will not even be giving you the sale price..

I am absolutely thrilled with the changes in my house. I felt like I wasn't completely 'done' and had trouble deciding what that even looked like so I hired Alykhan Velji Design to have free reign once they got to know my taste. I felt like they totally understood, and also I liked how they pushed the boundaries and made it fabulous. I couldn't be more happy.

Working with the AVD team was the highlight of our renovation experience. They took the time to understand our family dynamic and were flexible in response to changing budget constraints. Our home is now a hub for time spent with friends, family and neighbors... AND it’s gorgeous.

Alykhan Velji has been working with our family for a few years now after we moved from Toronto and purchased our first Calgary home; an 80's challenge with great bones and room for the family to breathe. His team first helped us with the basic theme and colour pallet to lock in the design foundation. From there we moved to refresh the entire main floor with lighting, furniture and a new kitchen. We are on the home stretch now and have enjoyed the transformation. Aly and his team are professionals with a expert eye and clear understanding of our family's needs. He listened to us and created a home we love and is a reflection of who we are. Thank you!

AVD provided a complete home design for our renovated mid century home. We were looking for a contemporary look while at the same time staying true our Western Canadian roots. The team spent considerable time getting to know us and our "likes" before presenting us with ideas. Their choice of furniture, fabrics and colors were outstanding and they challenged our thinking to achieve an absolutely splendid result. The team was creative, diligent and above all patient in this journey we took together. We couldn't be happier in our new home.

Upon purchasing a new home in Calgary, it was soon apparent I would need assistance from a professional designer. I decided to use this company. Their design creativity was far and beyond anything I could have imagined on my own. Fantastic value for the fee charged. The concept that was provided to me was professionally produced, scaled exactly to the space size and given in a timely manner. All interactions with Aly and his staff were courteous and articulated with a sincere desire to make the experience the best possible. Synonomous with the "Ritz Carlton" experience. As a business owner of over 14 years, I would expect nothing less. I would not hestitate to recommend this company for anyones design needs. They are the "creme de la creme" of their industry. Top notch.
