I am so glad I used Alison to help me choose the colors for my home's interior. I took all of her suggestions, and now that painting has begun, I could not be happier. Alison was attentive to my concerns and gave me a lot of other suggestions about furniture layout. I heartily recommend her!

I hired Alison to select colors and finishes for the complete renovation of the public spaces for a multi-unit condo building in a historic district. She was sensitive to the building and its context in the historic setting. Part of the project involved introducing a complex wainscot in the public staircase. She was instrumental in managing the project successfully with beautiful results.

Alison did a great job doing a "virtual" consultation for us. She told us when our ideas wouldn't work given the odd shapes and lighting in our room, gave us a ton of suggestions, and I could tell she looked at all of the materials we sent her carefully (pictures, video, etc.). I felt like she was "in the room" and able to give us good, real advice. We love the end result. She also responded to a number of follow-up questions and was responsive and thoughtful.

I highly recommend Alison for color consultation. She helped me select new exterior paint colors for my home, which I was hurriedly preparing for rental. The home is a mid-century modern and I was finding it extremely challenging to select colors due to the house's particular design, its natural surroundings, and the colors of the homes around it. I tested out an array of paint colors on my own before I decided I needed the help of a professional. I wish I had looked for Alison earlier! She took what felt like an impossible and time constrained challenge and quickly resolved it. Her process made sense, she struck a great balance of listening to my ideas and questions while demonstrating her professional expertise, was extremely thoughtful, and honed in on the right colors quickly. The color family that Alison gravitated toward was entirely different than where I had been looking; I would not have identified it on my own. My husband and I can’t say enough about the help we received from Alison. We are empty nesters with a large home. We needed to update our look, yet did not want to purchase all new furnishings. We hired Alison Powers to do a color consultation for our Coop building in Adams Morgan . Alison helped us to pick out lobby wall/trim paint colors and stairwell paint colors. We are so glad we hired her! Who knew there were more than 200 shades of gray!? Our coop members are a really hard-to-please crowd and they were so happy with the outcome of the color selection! The lobby looks great! Allison also helped us to select and place furniture in the coop lobby. Alison has a great eye for colors and style, is always on time, and is very responsive to phone calls and emails. I never realized how complicated selecting a paint color could be until I had the privilege of working with Alison Powers. Alison was the Color Design Consultant our apartment building worked with to update the interior colors. She came armed with large color samples, and made sure we noted the subtle differences in the flooring and lighting that affected every color choice. From that experience, I hired Alison to help me redecorate my own apartment. Her expertise in color design, along with her over all knowledge of interior design made the results of my new living room and den perfect. Not only did I get help with paint color, but also with appropriate rug size and color, and sofa selections. Alison took into consideration my existing furniture, lighting, and art work (as well as my taste) – and made brilliant suggestions for setting up the living room, changing the placement of art work, selecting sofa colors (one for the Den, one for the Living Room), and the selecting the right size and color for the rugs. I love my new spaces – which are so much better for having Alison’s expert advice. I would highly recommend Alison for any project, large or small.

My husband and I downsized to a new condo, and I hired Alison to help with the paint colors. I love the color (Edgecomb Gray) so much that we used it in every room. Our condo was a little bare looking, and Alison had great ideas about some new furniture puchases and artwork that pulled it all together for us. I was thrilled with Alison's talent and professionalism. She arrived with many large paint color samples to work with on changing the look of the front of my home. I love the completed project, which vastly exceeded my expectations. Alison also recommended that the large brick fireplace inside be painted white; she selected a color to match the new cabinets in the newly renovated adjoining kitchen, and was even available later to give me decorating tips for the mantel.
