It is my pleasure to write this recommendation for Alan Kirkland, of Kirkland Construction. My husband and I bought our first house, a condo, about two years ago, and Alan did all the work to get it ready for us to move in. I should stress that the place was not in tip-top condition when we bought it: the carpets were old and worn, closets were nonfunctional, and though the place had been recently painted, it was owned by a smoker, and the cigarette smell became truly oppressive once the place was cleared out. Alan did a superlative job getting it ready for us, and in only three weeks’ time. He tore out the old carpets and installed a new wood floor, repainted from top to bottom, gutted the closets for us, and updated some of the electrical outlets. We were thrilled when we walked in after the painting and the cigarette smell was gone. His work was uniformly beautiful, and he worked with friendly and professional subcontractors. His prices were fair, and he came in on budget. I want to stress that he was extremely time-conscious and prompt. We had been kept waiting for several weeks by a previous contractor whom we were trying to hire, and Alan was able to meet us within a couple of days and then take on our project in our short time window. As with any project, once we got started, we saw some additional things in the house that needed to be fixed. Alan was extremely accommodating about doing so. He and his subs also kept a very clean work site, which made it a pleasure to go over and view the progress every evening after work. Even though our project was small, he treated it with the care that he would have given to a very large contract, and told us that our project was important to him. I will close by saying that Alan is a real pleasure to work with: thoroughly professional, and generous-minded. I give Alan Kirkland and Kirkland Construction my highest recommendation.

Kirkland Construction Services did a complete renovation of the interior of my 4500ft2 Huntington beach home. The work included demolition of marble floors throughout the house, 2 significant structural walls and staircase. New hardwood floors were installed throughout the house along with a new staircase. New stone masonry was installed around 2 downstairs fireplaces. The front and back yards were completed redone including a new pool & cabana in the backyard and all new hardscape in the front yard. Kirkland Construction did an amazing job, on schedule ( 4 months ) and under budget. I highly recommend Kirkland Construction.

We used Kirkland Construction to do a major remodel when we purchased our home in 2007, and have done at least one project every year since. Alan came recommended by the prior owners for whom he had done a remodel prior to the home going on the market. Alan knew our home so well and really provided us an education as first time homeowners. We had no prior experience using a contractor but had heard horror stories from friends. We feel so fortunate to have found Alan Kirkland! He is professional, courteous, and was so patient in walking us through all of our options. Our projects have always been completed on time or ahead of schedule, always within or under budget. He does an excellent job of documenting the work to be completed, keeping us updated along the way, showing lower cost alternatives and explaining where effort and money are most effectively spent. Alan is extremely knowledgeable and stands behind the work he does 100 percent. All of the sub contractors he has brought in have been equally professional and I've always felt comfortable with the people coming into my home. I would (and have on multiple occasions!) recommend Kirkland Construction Services to anyone looking to do a home improvement project large or small.

We have used Kirkland Construction for a series of renovation projects, spanning several years (and still in progress). We have been extremely pleased with their work. We had designs for our multi-year project done with a designer we had earlier worked with in Michigan, and Kirkland did a nice job of coordinating with the designer and implementing the project in a high quality fashion. The sub-contractors they hired were excellent, the work was done in time, and the quality was very high. We will continue to use Kirkland in future projects that are on our planning horizon.

I have two projects I want to do in the next 1-2 years, one is a complete addition. Due to workmanship I saw at friends house I called Alan to see if he would be willing to come out and provide estimate even though I would not be doing this right away - he had no problem doing this. First he was right on time which is big for me. Second he listened to what I wanted to do then ask questions about stuff I had not thought about.
