Abbey Carpet & Floor of San Mateo

This vendor was recommended to us by our contractor. Nancy came out to do measurements for ordering flooring for our condo. We were able to bring back as many floor samples as we wanted to compare at our own home. Choosing our flooring and getting the estimate was a good experience. Our contractor worked withe vendor to schedule the installation. The were scheduled to do work over 2 days. The first day they didn't show up and we didn't get a phone call. The second day the vendor didn't show up until 11:00am and then stayed until 10:30 at night, using power tools until about 9:30pm in our condo complex. Our neighbors were not happy. They tried to fit a 2 day job into 1 day because they said they had scheduling conflicts and didn't know when they could come back if they didn't finish in 1 day. Because they were rushing, they did not get all the transitions installed, some of the transitions they did install were cut short and glued sloppy, and some of the edges of the flooring against the wall (not covered by the baseboards) are damaged (unfortunately we did not notice this until about a week after the work was done). We also noticed about after a month of use, nails were popping through one of the transitions to one of the bedrooms. Thankfully, they ordered new transitions for us and replaced the ones that were poorly cut and where the nails were coming through. We did not work directly with Abbey flooring (except for going into the showroom and ordering the flooring) and our contractor worked with them.
