This grand room in Houston is a prime example of a space that has been remodeled and repurposed into a wine room with Gatsby-style opulence. As a formal living room it was not often used prior to being remodeled. The homeowner wanted us to turn it into a wine room, so we made some structural changes to eliminate a window in order accommodate the custom storage and updated the finishes. Instead of a dark cave, the wine room is treated an open, communal entertainment. the wine room proper is separated from the entertainment area by demising floor to ceiling glass to control for climate and humidity for the wine. The beauty of the series wine bottles remain visible and a focal feature the overall space. The ends of the Dark mahogany cabinet racks are treated as a series of tall armoires, and with usual walls removed, the wine racks are further displayed as halls. The floor is Onyx and in the interior one wall displays antique french decanters that is lit through an onyx wall behind them. (left side of photo).

A wonderful walnut wine cellar which allows the owner to really enjoy, and to share his passion. Set behind a large glass door so that the room is visible from other areas of the building cellar the room then has many carefully planned details. Walnut louvres to conceal cooling units. Top lit display shelves with chrome racking above. Granite drinks preparation area. Cupboards and drawers for glasses etc. Sliding shelf storage of wine cases. Magnum storage. Focal, top lit alcove where the client plans to hang a painting.

Double wine cellar for Naples Residence. Glass wine cellar was designed with 1/2" thick tempered glass panels and a completely frameless door. Polycarbonate seals around door keep this humidity and temperature controlled wine cellar consistently refrigerated.

A few different types of wine bottle showcasing techniques were used in the wine storage space, including high reveal display, horizontal display, arches coved trays, wine case storage, curved countertops, and overhead racking.
