This family residing on North Euclid in Upland, requested a living room they could actually live in. A space that was not too formal but nodded toward formality in a subtle way. They wanted a space where many people could gather, converse, watch TV and simply relax. The look I created I call “California French Country”. I achieved this by designing the room in layers. First I started with new dark wood floors to match their staircase. Then I had Board and Batten installed to accentuate ceiling height and give the room more structure. Next, the walls were painted above the Board and Batten Mood Indigo by Behr and the ceiling beams white for a clean, classic, crisp, fresh look. I designed custom inverted pleat drapes with a navy blue band to be installed. A new chandelier in loft area was installed to go with the existing entry chandelier from Restoration Hardware. Then it was time to furnish the space according to my new space plan. I used a mix of new and existing pieces, which most were repurposed and refinished. New furnishings included a goose down sofa, wool rug, tufted navy ottoman. Existing pieces I reused were the armoire which I had finished in a cranberry to match loft chaise. A wing back chair , ottoman, cane back chair and client’s entry bench that was made by her father were all reupholstered. I had a custom marble table top fabricated to sit atop 2 antique Chinese meal box holders that the client has been holding on to, which created the perfect entry table. I accessorized the room with red, blue and white accents to give the room that “lived in” feeling. The loft houses a large antique mirror that I found in a local shop, a velvet chaise to lounge and their daughter’s artwork was hung in the loft area to make the space feel like their own little getaway.

Our studio gave this home a fresh, inviting remodel. In the kitchen, we combined modern appliances and clean lines with a rustic touch using bright wood, burnished bronze fittings, and geometric tiles. A unique extension on one end of the kitchen island adds extra space for cooking and dining. The living room fireplace got a stunning art deco makeover with deep wood trim, Rookwood-style tilework, and vintage decor. In the bathroom, intriguing geometry, a light palette, and a shaded window create a luxe vibe, while the double sink and plentiful storage make it incredibly functional. ---Project completed by Wendy Langston's Everything Home interior design firm, which serves Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, and Indianapolis. As well as the kitchen, the media cabinet and bench seating below the windows were designed and created by Davonport. Using Farrow & Ball's 'Pigeon' on the cabinetry and the media unit gives a sense of flow between the two areas - exactly what is needed in a busy family home.

Rénover touche par touche un hôtel particulier. Il s'agit d'un hôtel qui a fait l'objet d'une rénovation 3 ans avant l'acquisition de nos clients. Le style d'intérieur était assez tape-à-l'oeil, proche du rococo. Nos clients souhaitaient quelque chose de plus parisien. Ab initio, ils prévoyaient de tout casser/refaire. Cependant les matériaux utilisés étaient d'excellente qualité, nous avons préféré les garder et les retravailler/moderniser. Nous avons ainsi repeint, installé un nouveau parquet et travaillé la mensuiserie (tout a été fait en France). Les travaux ont eu lieu en août.

Nestled next to a mountain side and backing up to a creek, this home encompasses the mountain feel. With its neutral yet rich exterior colors and textures, the architecture is simply picturesque. A custom Knotty Alder entry door is preceded by an arched stone column entry porch. White Oak flooring is featured throughout and accentuates the home’s stained beam and ceiling accents. Custom cabinetry in the Kitchen and Great Room create a personal touch unique to only this residence. The Master Bathroom features a free-standing tub and all-tiled shower. Upstairs, the game room boasts a large custom reclaimed barn wood sliding door. The Juliette balcony gracefully over looks the handsome Great Room. Downstairs the screen porch is cozy with a fireplace and wood accents. Sitting perpendicular to the home, the detached three-car garage mirrors the feel of the main house by staying with the same paint colors, and features an all metal roof. The spacious area above the garage is perfect for a future living or storage area.

We selected a warm, medium toned color by Dunn Edwards DEC767 (Riverbed), for the living room, kitchen and dining room. The back wall of the book shelves is a mid-toned green, Benjamin Moore's 473 (Weekend Getaway). The color proved to be a perfect backdrop for the client's artwork, books and collectibles. The new carved wood, octagon shaped beveled mirror, helped to make the room feel larger and grounds the space. The white used throughout the home is Benjamin Moore's OC-65 (Chantilly Lace). The new area rugs, couch and window treatments, all work together to create a cohesive and cozy feel. The surround and mantel in white, provides a traditional cottage feel to the home.
