The family living in this shingled roofed home on the Peninsula loves color and pattern. At the heart of the two-story house, we created a library with high gloss lapis blue walls. The tête-à-tête provides an inviting place for the couple to read while their children play games at the antique card table. As a counterpoint, the open planned family, dining room, and kitchen have white walls. We selected a deep aubergine for the kitchen cabinetry. In the tranquil master suite, we layered celadon and sky blue while the daughters' room features pink, purple, and citrine.

This classic Americana-inspired home exquisitely incorporates design elements from the early 20th century and combines them with modern amenities and features. This one level living plan features 12’ main floor ceilings with a family room vault and large barn doors over the fireplace mantel.

The family room in this Bloomfield Hills residence was a part of a whole house renovation and addition, completed in 2016. Having spaces that were a staple to traditional family life were very important to the clients, so a warm, inviting family was designed. Centered in this room is a full-masonry, milled stone fireplace with a milled stone hearth and mantle. To help open the space up and pull in more natural light, an arched lantern (transoms) was created. This lantern features wood ceilings and beams, complemented with paneled walls and detailed trim. On both sides of the fireplace are built-in bookshelves and cabinets. The furniture and décor further accentuate the warmth of the room by utilizing earth, blue, and cream tones.

We've used light and airy fabrics in all the windows to create a simple, clean look and used beautiful linen sheer from JF Fabrics for the combination of functional lined sheer drapes and the hobbled sheer roman shades. We’ve tried to optimize the design to make the rooms look more spacious and uniform in style. . We kept the open feel in the living room by creating neutral window treatments in off white, lined sheer for privacy and the sun control. This fireplace is the focal point of a Family Room/Library in custom ash paneling with a cerused finish. The paneling wraps the room, unifying walls with fireplace, windows, bookcases and TV. While the panel details are quite traditional, the flush mantel and light color of the paneling feel fresh. The exposed plaster above the paneling also lightens the room and maintains a cohesiveness with the adjacent living room.

This 2-story home includes a 3- car garage with mudroom entry, an inviting front porch with decorative posts, and a screened-in porch. The home features an open floor plan with 10’ ceilings on the 1st floor and impressive detailing throughout. A dramatic 2-story ceiling creates a grand first impression in the foyer, where hardwood flooring extends into the adjacent formal dining room elegant coffered ceiling accented by craftsman style wainscoting and chair rail. Just beyond the Foyer, the great room with a 2-story ceiling, the kitchen, breakfast area, and hearth room share an open plan. The spacious kitchen includes that opens to the breakfast area, quartz countertops with tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances, attractive cabinetry with crown molding, and a corner pantry. The connecting hearth room is a cozy retreat that includes a gas fireplace with stone surround and shiplap. The floor plan also includes a study with French doors and a convenient bonus room for additional flexible living space. The first-floor owner’s suite boasts an expansive closet, and a private bathroom with a shower, freestanding tub, and double bowl vanity. On the 2nd floor is a versatile loft area overlooking the great room, 2 full baths, and 3 bedrooms with spacious closets.
