A glass balustrade was selected for the straight flight to allow light to flow freely into the living area and to create an uncluttered space (defined by the clean lines of the grooved top hand rail and wide bottom stringer). The invisible barrier works beautifully with the 2" squared-off oak treads, matching oak risers and strong-routed poplar stringers; it definitively improves the modern feel of the home. The main goal of this project was to build a U shaped staircase with a large span all the way to the large tilt slab wall. Structural steel became the obvious choice because it gave us rigidity, so we used it for the channel stringers and flat plate steel risers and treads. This allowed for us to use thick, oak treads. Square section balustrade posts and oak handrails with perforated metal infill panels were used to create a contemporary block pattern. Because of this, light was able to pass through and achieved the industrial design look the client was after. We fabricated off site and assembled on site in order to have a hassle free installation for our clients.

Rustic 480 sq. ft. cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, NC. Build with a combination of standard and rough-sawn framing materials. Special touches include custom-built kitchen cabinets of barn wood, wide-plank flooring of reclaimed Heart Pine, a ships ladder made from rough-sawn Hemlock, and a porch constructed entirely of weather resistant Locust. Об этом проекте №8 в нашем портфолио я буду рассказывать в несколько подходов, так как там мы сделали и лестницу и мебель, и двери, и прихожие, и арки, и кухню из массива. Поэтому начнем с лестницы. dom-buka.ru/projekt8 Лестница на заказ выполнена по основанию из бетона с обшивкой ступенями из дуба цельноламельного экстра класса без сучков и дефектов. По стене идет изогнутая пристенная панель из дуба с подсветкой ступеней лестницы. Очень любопытное кованное художественное ограждение на заказ получилось. Гнутое по периметру лестницы, с вставками из стекла. Разработано специально для заказчика по его рисункам. Также как видно на фото, на втором этаже лестницы выполнена также изогнутая баллюстрада с этим ограждением, чтобы человек не упал вниз. Цвет ступеней подбирался нашими специалистами 1 в 1 в цвет паркета. Ступени, подступенки и поручень лестницы покрыты 2 слоями дорогого итальянского паркетного лака Sayerlack. Практически 90% наших клиентов мы делаем покрытие именно этим лаком. Остальные 10% - это покрытие маслом. Выгодно отличает масло на фоне лака только стоимость, разница примерно в 2,5 раза. Из минусов масла - это то, что через 3-4 года оно изотрется на участках, где вы ходите чаще всего, и нужно снова вызывать специалиста который будет вышлифовывать лестницу и заново покрывать ее маслом, только ступени снять он уже не сможет и будет проводить все покрасочные работы у вас дома. А покрытие паркетным лаком держится долго 30-40 лет. This was one of our most unique staircase projects to date. The natural oak balustrade screen had to all be hand fabricated on site, which truly demonstrates the emphasis Stairworks has on attention to detail. The challenge wasn’t just to get all the timber perfectly straight, but it was doing this with all the normal site challenges as well. The oak treads are glued on to the solid steel staircase with an adhesive to hide any potential fixings. This has become a very popular option at the moment with our floating stairs, fitting into the modern contemporary interior home design.
