These Landscape Architectural elements were designed and installed by Great Oaks Landscape Associates Inc. Great Oaks used pergolas and arbors to accent the patio's, sitting areas, and outdoor living spaces.

Green granite countertops coordinate with the pale green subway tile in the backsplash, which also features a decorative bead board vertical tile and glass mosaic insets. Our clients wanted to create a room that would bring them closer to the outdoors; a room filled with natural lighting; and a venue to spotlight a modern fireplace. Early in the design process, our clients wanted to replace their existing, outdated, and rundown screen porch, but instead decided to build an all-season sun room. The space was intended as a quiet place to read, relax, and enjoy the view. The sunroom addition extends from the existing house and is nestled into its heavily wooded surroundings. The roof of the new structure reaches toward the sky, enabling additional light and views. The floor-to-ceiling magnum double-hung windows with transoms, occupy the rear and side-walls. The original brick, on the fourth wall remains exposed; and provides a perfect complement to the French doors that open to the dining room and create an optimum configuration for cross-ventilation. To continue the design philosophy for this addition place seamlessly merged natural finishes from the interior to the exterior. The Brazilian black slate, on the sunroom floor, extends to the outdoor terrace; and the stained tongue and groove, installed on the ceiling, continues through to the exterior soffit. The room's main attraction is the suspended metal fireplace; an authentic wood-burning heat source. Its shape is a modern orb with a commanding presence. Positioned at the center of the room, toward the rear, the orb adds to the majestic interior-exterior experience. This is the client's third project with place architecture: design. Each endeavor has been a wonderful collaboration to successfully bring this 1960s ranch-house into twenty-first century living.

In this master suite designed by Jim Walters, the wall-to-wall bed maximizes storage with built-in tansu-like nightstands. Grass cloth wall covering adds earthy texture to the Asian-influenced bedroom; shoji-style doors lead to the master bath.

New space has more than 12 times as much exterior glass to flood the space in natural light (all glass is frosted for privacy). Created a stylized boutique feel with modern lighting design and opened up front entry to include a new coat closet, built in bench and display shelving. . Kitchen Storage Pantry in Bay Area European Style Cabinetry made in our artisanal cabinet shop with a wonderful Hafele Gourmet Pantry for kitchen storage.

The hallmark of this en-suite bath is a double shower with hinged double glass doors. It also has a double floating vanity with under mount sinks and a quartz countertop.

Il progetto ha cercato di enfatizzare la luce e la vista che si gode dal IV piano di questo edificio in zona Moscova Brera Milano, Gli edifici color mattone di fronte hanno ispirato la scelta del colore bordeaux su tutto il fronte sud. Il passaggio dal soggiorno alla camera da letto è stata fatta con una porta scorrevole filo muro, che quando aperta mostra la continuità della parete bordeaux e favorisce il passaggio di luce.

La zona giorno è stata divisa da una grande vetrata con doppia anta a libro per la flessibilità di rendere questo spazio integrato al soggiorno o separabile per una eventuale seconda camera da letto. In questo secondo caso una grande tenda copre l'intera vetrata per dare privacy. Un armadio disegnato su misura definisce il volume cella casa che inizia dal corridoio e finisce con una piccola libreria a giorno vicino alla finestra.

What started as a kitchen and two-bathroom remodel evolved into a full home renovation plus conversion of the downstairs unfinished basement into a permitted first story addition, complete with family room, guest suite, mudroom, and a new front entrance. We married the midcentury modern architecture with vintage, eclectic details and thoughtful materials.
