A skeleton riding a rustic witch's broom frames the porch window. Rieves says, "This year I wanted to do something kind of creepy and whimsical with the skeleton." A banner announcing the Halloween season is paired with a string of pumpkin lights so that it can be seen at night from the street.

Edible roses and riparian sedges, rush, etc., complete the "water-side" look, and create some privacy for outdoor Summer uses. Note compact Holly hedge by left patio.
Traditional cabinetry is the perfect backdrop for the circus theme of this bathroom. The walls have a hand applied faux finish and a trompe l'oeil banner painted announcing the proud owner of the circus that has come to town.
