Bridge Crossing
Tucked back off the street, a winding country road opens to a natural spring-fed pond surrounded by textured plantings, a bog garden, sculptured lawn and boulders. A curved retaining wall features water spilling into the pond. A driveway turnaround, inspired by the nautilus is formed with field stone and river jack aggregate and doubles as an entrance courtyard and basketball court. The lawn creates the foreground for the stone bridge, which passes between two carefully preserved historic trees. The city's watershed stream caused by massive amounts of water flow during heavy rains has been corrected and stabilization of the stream banks is underway with native planting.
