都市における庭の役割<生物多様性>庭は個人の所有物でありながら、地域にとっても価値のあるものと言えます。自然の少ない街中では、虫や鳥が生息する場となり、それが地域の生物多様性を支えています。小さな生き物たちは庭から庭へ移動して、行動範囲を広げながら世代をつないでいくのです。小さな庭でも連続して通路のようにつながることで、大きな意味を持ちます。実際に庭で植栽の作業を行い、片付けをしている頃にはもう蝶々がひらひらと舞い始めていることもあり、庭が地域の生物にとって大切なものなんだと実感します。庭の仕事を生業にしていて、ほっと心が温まる瞬間です。
