Drewett WorksThis photo: For a couple's house in Paradise Valley, architect C.P. Drewett created a sleek modern kitchen with Caesarstone counters and tile backsplashes from Art Stone LLC. Porcelain-tile floors from Villagio Tile & Stone provide contrast to the dark-stained vertical-grain white-oak cabinetry fabricated by Reliance Custom Cabinets.
Positioned near the base of iconic Camelback Mountain, “Outside In” is a modernist home celebrating the love of outdoor living Arizonans crave. The design inspiration was honoring early territorial architecture while applying modernist design principles.
Dressed with undulating negra cantera stone, the massing elements of “Outside In” bring an artistic stature to the project’s design hierarchy. This home boasts a first (never seen before feature) — a re-entrant pocketing door which unveils virtually the entire home’s living space to the exterior pool and view terrace.
A timeless chocolate and white palette makes this home both elegant and refined. Oriented south, the spectacular interior natural light illuminates what promises to become another timeless piece of architecture for the Paradise Valley landscape.

Miro Kitchen Design This kitchen was designed utilizing the length and height of the space. While maintaining a truly functional working area. The emphases on a family kitchen as well as an entertainment area were achieved by keeping the functional components of the kitchen on one side while being able to socialize at an arms-length on the other. No one was to be made to feel left-out, with the island that eventual becomes a projected table to the workstation. Stainless steel was chosen to emphasize the gorgeousness and caliber of the appliances. Custom walnut cabinets accompanied by large format porcelain tile, and quartz counter-tops tie the space together. Hardware placement again reinforces clean lines of the kitchen.

Emily Roose InteriorsA modern kitchen and dining room with custom cabinets by Snaidero, a semi-custom chandelier and a custom dining table designed by Emily Esposito, principal of Emily Esposito Interiors. The dining table below won Best Custom Furnishings/Product Design of the Year 2020 at the ANDYZ Awards that is put on by ASID Central CA/Nevada Chapter and the LVDC (Las Vegas Design Center). A large built-in custom banquet features storage and removable custom leather cushions.

AC Spatial DesignEnsuring an ingrained sense of flexibility in the planning of the dining and kitchen area, and how each space connected and opened to the next – was key. A dividing door by IQ Glass is hidden into the Molteni & Dada kitchen units, planned by AC Spatial Design. Together, the transition between inside and out, and the potential for extend into the surrounding garden spaces, became an integral component of the new works.
Amos Goldreich ArchitectureAmos Goldreich Architecture has recently completed the transformation of an Edwardian house in North London.
The client brief called for light-filled, open spaces with a strong sense of connectivity. The challenge has been to respect the history of a 100 year old building while sensitively adapting it to accommodate the requirements of 21st-century family life. In addition, the client wished to display a range of rare objects and sculpture so the main reception rooms needed to function both as living areas but also as informal ‘gallery’ spaces.
The overall concept was to infuse the interiors with as much natural light as possible, enhanced by the decision to adopt a neutral and coherent palette of white walls and contrasting dark American walnut flooring, creating a consistent visual framework on each floor.
Overall, the project demonstrates the practice’s careful analysis of logistical problems and how to resolve them. Internal windows bring light from the front of the house through to the rear, and vice versa. Where storage products could not be sourced, bespoke units have been designed and made for the kitchen, living areas and bedrooms.
Hobsons ChoiceAlong the edge of the breakfast-bar are double plug sockets with USB ports. Ideally placed for use with the kitchen hand tool as well as laptops and iPads.
polytecKurmond Homes' Melody MK1 Display Home in Oran Park used Thermolaminated doors in Cinder Matt, Sepia Oak Ravine, Feldspar Shimmer Matt and Cavia Lini Finegrain on internal joinery. Polar White Matt was used on covered BBQ Alfresco area.
