This room, formally a dining room was opened up to the great room and turned into a new kitchen. The entertainment style kitchen comes with a lot of custom detailing. The island is designed to look like a modern piece of furniture. The St. Laurent marble top is set down into a mahogany wood for a furniture-like feel. A custom server is between the kitchen and great room. The server mimics the island design with the mahogany and marble. We incorporated two lamps in the server to enhance its furniture-like feel. This family of four love to entertain and having friends and family over. Their 1970 Rambler was getting cramped after their two daughters moved back and that was their cry for help. They also wanted to have two door garages added into their home. They had a very modern theme in mind for both exterior and interior of their project. The project started as excavating and clearing 7-9 feet of dirt allowing the driveway and new garage space. All utilities were relocated to clear area. Above this new garage space, there was the home for brand new dream kitchen for them. Trading their 10’x7′ galley kitchen with this 13’x30′ gourmet kitchen with 48″ stark blue professional gas range, a 5’x14′ center island equipped with prep sink, wine cooler, ice maker, microwave and lots of storage space. Front and back windows, 13′ cathedral ceiling offers lots of daylight and sparks up this beautiful kitchen. Tall Espresso cabinetry complimented with contrasting island, and breathtaking stone counter tops stands off through large opening from old home to new kitchen. The big load bearing wall and old kitchen was removed and opened up old home to new kitchen, all partition walls between kitchen, dining and living room were gone and given a total open floor plan. Replacing old carpet steps and wood rails with dark wood and cable yarn railing system bringing this home into new era. Entire first floor was now covered with wide plank exotic wood floors and a large scale porcelain tiles in kitchen floor. The entire exterior was replaced with cement board red planks siding and contrasting flat panel of grey boards bordered in with chrome trim. New front door, new Architectural shingles spruced up into 21st century home that they desired. A wide flat Mahogany with vertical glass garage doors with very modern looking exterior lights made this home stand tall in this neighborhood. We used glass backsplash tiles and pendent lights to create a upscale and very different look for this project. Furnished with ductless heating system and heated floors giving this family high level of comfort to through endless parties.

A traditional, dark prewar apartment was opened up and reconfigured for better flow and modern amenities. Several maids rooms were reconfigured to yield a new eat-in kitchen and family rooms. Modern details complement and enliven the grand scale of the space. Before renovation, this apartment was an unattractive warren of small dark rooms. After gutting, an open airy feeling was attained through the use of space defining portals and sandblasted glass "window" rather than convention walls. Light colored floor and wall treatment give the apartment a level of brightness which bless the home's north-facing exposure. As one enters the space, a barrel vaulted corridor to the left leads to the bedrooms. To the right, a rotunda shaped space mediates a graceful shift int he circulations axis and celebrates a sense of arrival. Adjacent to this rotunda is at the Japonnaise black-tiled modern powder room consistent with the apartment's early modern classic design themes. Beyond the rotunda, one passes through an austere palladian portal to enter the living room. At one end, the original marble fireplace is framed by cabinetry and light emanating soffits which give it a lively new context. At the opposite end of the room, a rhythmically organized green wall defines the entry to the dining room. The lighting in these spaces reinforces the overall design concept: modern recessed down lights and indirect lighting are combined with more transitional wall sconces and Viennese chandeliers to create a synthesis of old and new. Like the living room and dining room, the kitchen also consists of two adjacent ante spaces: a general sized work area and a large breakfast / family room. The curved shape of the breakfast counter separating these two room is mirrored in the curved soffit above, adding a sensual note to the crisp black and white color scheme. The spirit of the turn of the center Viennese cafes is evoked by the Josef Hoffmann sofa and checkerboard tile floor. The formal qualities of this space make it appropriate for entertaining as well as for more casual family meals.

Un électroménager à la pointe de la technologie Une cuisine high-tech entièrement sur-mesure avec son îlot central et pensée dans tous les détails de la conception. Le décor Dans cette cuisine aménagée, l'on joue de nuances de noir, gris et blanc afin d'apporter une atmosphère chic et intemporelle. La vue sur le jardin arboré est mise en avant par cet îlot qui lui fait face. Une céramique sombre recouvre le sol et les murs, contrastant avec le plan de travail en quartzite claire. L’îlot central On tourne dans cette cuisine autour d'une pièce maîtresse multifonction : l'îlot est plan de travail, espace de repas, zone de lavage et de cuisson. Entièrement sur-mesure, il est composé d'un châssis inox – notre signature – habillé de façades en chêne laqué noir, une finition subtile qui laisse voir le fil du bois. Un plan de travail en quartzite vient contraster ce volume sombre. L’électroménager L’électroménager haut de gamme est pensé avec soin : Une table de cuisson blanche afin de mettre en valeur la matière minérale, un large four de 90cm pour recevoir de grandes tablées, un évier qui se fait discret par ses accessoires (planche à découper et égouttoir), un mitigeur élégant. Un mural complète cet îlot en intégrant le froid (réfrigérateur, congélateur, cave à vin), ainsi qu'un complément de cuisson : four haute pression, salamandre et machine à café. Un tel équipement requiert une aspiration sans faille : un plafond filtrant a été réalisé sur mesure, tout en inox.
