Hierdurch sieht man einerseits keine Fingerabdrücke, andererseits sind sie dadurch auch extrem unempfindlich gegen jede Form von Verschmutzungen. Die Arbeitsplatte ist mit schwarzem Linoleum beschichtet. Hierbei handelt es sich um ein natürliches Material, das nicht nur einer wundervolle Haptik hat, sondern ebenso robust ist wie Massivholz. Die Küchenrückwand ist mit einem ökologischem Wandwachs behandelt worden. Dieser hält sowohl Wasser als auch Fett ab sorgt für eine sehr leichte Reinigung der Wand. Alle Küchengeräte sind hinter Frontblenden unter der Arbeitsplatte untergebracht. Hierdurch wird die Optik der Küche an keiner Stelle durchbrochen und es sind keine unansehnlichen Elektrogeräte zu sehen. Der Einbauschrank an der Linken Seite enthält genug Stauraum für alles, was man in der Küche so braucht.

A large open-plan kitchen is given a clean, modern look with the abundance of white and pale yellows. We used a new green material for the countertops, which is a man-made porcelain slab, which adds a smooth and seamless design to the large space. Complementing the countertops are the sleek white cabinets, white globe pendant lights, and a pale yellow accent wall, which keeps the room light and cheery while adding a touch of color. We added a pop-up outlet in the countertop, which plugs into a hidden GFCI, allowing for outlets to be readily available and indecipherable on the countertop. An assisted pop-up shelf has also been installed, providing the perfect space for a toaster, coffee machine, and other small machinery that may take up wanted counter space. And lastly, for additional storage, we designed the top row shelves to be open and continuous (not sectioned off), creating space for larger items that the homeowners want to store. photos by Pedro Marti The clients hired us to overhaul a dated post war apartment on the upper Eastside of Manhattan. The clients wanted an open kitchen so we removed the wall separating the standard galley kitchen from the living area letting all the light from the adjacent glass terrace doors enter the kitchen. We also extended the footprint of the kitchen to create a large eat-in counter. The kitchen has a white on pale grey color scheme with custom white lacquer cabinetry, light grey wood grain base cabinetry, and light grey and white quartz counters and backsplash. The white and grey scheme continues in the powder room where a small white carrera marble and stainless steel wall hung sink is surrounded by a pale silver/grey grasscloth wallpaper. The master bathroom has a large dark wood double sink vanity with custom mirrored cabinets above that have tv’s within the mirrored glass. The master bathroom is tiled with a white thassos marble mini brick pattern pattern on the floors, a large white thassos marble wall tile, and dramatic white and black linear veined marmara marble wall tiles inside the shower. In the ensuite guest bathroom similar large white thassos marble tiles clad the wall with a custom grey and white glass mosaic inset behind the vanity and inside the tiled niche. Pedro Marti
