This dark, dreary kitchen was large, but not being used well. The family of 7 had outgrown the limited storage and experienced traffic bottlenecks when in the kitchen together. A bright, cheerful and more functional kitchen was desired, as well as a new pantry space. We gutted the kitchen and closed off the landing through the door to the garage to create a new pantry. A frosted glass pocket door eliminates door swing issues. In the pantry, a small access door opens to the garage so groceries can be loaded easily. Grey wood-look tile was laid everywhere. We replaced the small window and added a 6’x4’ window, instantly adding tons of natural light. A modern motorized sheer roller shade helps control early morning glare. Three free-floating shelves are to the right of the window for favorite décor and collectables. White, ceiling-height cabinets surround the room. The full-overlay doors keep the look seamless. Double dishwashers, double ovens and a double refrigerator are essentials for this busy, large family. An induction cooktop was chosen for energy efficiency, child safety, and reliability in cooking. An appliance garage and a mixer lift house the much-used small appliances. An ice maker and beverage center were added to the side wall cabinet bank. The microwave and TV are hidden but have easy access. The inspiration for the room was an exclusive glass mosaic tile. The large island is a glossy classic blue. White quartz countertops feature small flecks of silver. Plus, the stainless metal accent was even added to the toe kick! Upper cabinet, under-cabinet and pendant ambient lighting, all on dimmers, was added and every light (even ceiling lights) is LED for energy efficiency. White-on-white modern counter stools are easy to clean. Plus, throughout the room, strategically placed USB outlets give tidy charging options.

A clean and masculine design with clearly defined angles reflects the architecture of the building. White cabinets on top brightens the room, while the rich dark floor is very grounding. The bamboo base cabinets gives needed texture and warm to the home. The ultimate in uniformity was achieved in the floor when the tile seamlessly meets the hardwood.

Moderniser une cuisine dans un intérieur à l'esprit Haussmannien n’est pas si simple. Il faut arriver à harmoniser deux styles pour n’en créer qu’un. Nous avons conservé ce sol sublime et travailler sur les hauteurs. 3 mètres sous plafond ce n’est pas rien ! Un coffrage avec des spots led a été installé. En plus des interrupteurs, une télécommande permet d’adapter la lumière aux besoins du moment. Des armoires de 2m85 habillent l’espace et offrent un maximum de rangements. Pour donner de la profondeur à la pièce, nous avons sélectionné des meubles Italiens sans poignées et une crédence en verre sur mesure de 3m50 de long. Tout est encastré à 100%, de la cuve en Inox très large, aux poubelles coulissantes de 40 litres en passant par le réfrigérateur combiné. Côté cuisson, nous retrouvons une plaque à gaz feu Wok associée à une hotte silencieuse et son filtre plasma. Comme le souhaitaient mes clients, il est désormais possible de déjeuner en tête à tête dans un espace épuré et lumineux. M & Mme Z sont très satisfaits du résultat et je les remercie d’avoir fait confiance à mon équipe pour transformer radicalement leur ancienne cuisine. The client initially contacted us because the Master Bathroom needed to be repaired, and from there the project transformed into a whole house remodel, fulfilling a dream the homeowners had since moving into the house 17 years ago. The entire house was filled with wallpaper, and the cabinets were built at a larger 42" height for taller homeowners (you'll want to check out the Before & Afters at the end of the slideshow). When approaching the remodel, the client asked our Designer to create a couple of material options to present to her for each area of the house; Kitchen, Master Bathroom, and Utility Room. Through design meetings, the Designer and the Homeowner collaborated to create these beautiful selections that have completely transformed the look of the house.
