Cedar Shakes Siding, Large Glass Windows and Steel Cable Railings combine to create a unique Architectural treasure. The sleek modern touches throughout the interior include Minimalistic Interior Trim, Monochromatic Wall Paint, Open Stair Treads, and Clean Lines that create an airy feel. Rustic Wood Floors and Pickled Shiplap Walls add warmth to the space, creating a perfect balance of clean and comfortable. A see-through Gas Fireplace begins a journey down the Master Suite Corridor, flooded with natural light and embellished with Vaulted Exposed Beam Ceilings. Exterior Photo Credit: Frits de Vries This house is arranged around a pool and situated for sun exposure and views. Working within the tradition of west coast contemporary architecture, local materials are used throughout. Heavy timbers frame the wood windows and doors. Fir ceilings and soffits create a continuous plane, blurring the line between interior and exterior. The energy usage for the home has been decreased with the use of a geothermal heating system, low-e glazing, in-floor heating and heat recovery. This project won the 2008 Residential Wood Design Award from the Canada Wood Council and was selected as a finalist in the 2007 Georgie Awards.

This charming ranch on the north fork of Long Island received a long overdo update. All the windows were replaced with more modern looking black framed Andersen casement windows. The front entry door and garage door compliment each other with the a column of horizontal windows. The Maibec siding really makes this house stand out while complimenting the natural surrounding. Finished with black gutters and leaders that compliment that offer function without taking away from the clean look of the new makeover. The front entry was given a streamlined entry with Timbertech decking and Viewrail railing. The rear deck, also Timbertech and Viewrail, include black lattice that finishes the rear deck with out detracting from the clean lines of this deck that spans the back of the house. The Viewrail provides the safety barrier needed without interfering with the amazing view of the water.

We drew inspiration from traditional prairie motifs and updated them for this modern home in the mountains. Throughout the residence, there is a strong theme of horizontal lines integrated with a natural, woodsy palette and a gallery-like aesthetic on the inside.
