Our Goal with this project was to create a contemporary home. We wanted to take advantage of the view, so we put in lots of great size windows. To add a little warmth to the contemporary architecture we added wood paneling and a wood patio. This design of the mix of concrete and wood is perfect!

A contemporary new build house which has been constructed to be highly sustainable with passive details, The clients were eager to maximise energy efficiency and minimise construction waste by utilising passive house details, high performing modern materials including aluminium, zinc, sustainably sourced timber cladding and a partly rendered finish. In its rural garden setting, the house opens onto a courtyard to the South and East, allowing natural light to flood in throughout the day.

Beginning upstairs, non symmetrical sliding doors, large fixed panel and smaller door, opening onto front balcony. On ground solid timber door with timber strip cladding, with aluminium frame with double side light.

This modern farmhouse located outside of Spokane, Washington, creates a prominent focal point among the landscape of rolling plains. The composition of the home is dominated by three steep gable rooflines linked together by a central spine. This unique design evokes a sense of expansion and contraction from one space to the next. Vertical cedar siding, poured concrete, and zinc gray metal elements clad the modern farmhouse, which, combined with a shop that has the aesthetic of a weathered barn, creates a sense of modernity that remains rooted to the surrounding environment. The Glo double pane A5 Series windows and doors were selected for the project because of their sleek, modern aesthetic and advanced thermal technology over traditional aluminum windows. High performance spacers, low iron glass, larger continuous thermal breaks, and multiple air seals allows the A5 Series to deliver high performance values and cost effective durability while remaining a sophisticated and stylish design choice. Strategically placed operable windows paired with large expanses of fixed picture windows provide natural ventilation and a visual connection to the outdoors.

This West Asheville small house is on an ⅛ acre infill lot just 1 block from the Haywood Road commercial district. With only 840 square feet, space optimization is key. Each room houses multiple functions, and storage space is integrated into every possible location. The owners strongly emphasized using available outdoor space to its fullest. A large screened porch takes advantage of the our climate, and is an adjunct dining room and living space for three seasons of the year. A simple form and tonal grey palette unify and lend a modern aesthetic to the exterior of the small house, while light colors and high ceilings give the interior an airy feel.
