New build on a boutique development in North Dorset, near Sturminster Newton. We specified finishes in kitchens and bathrooms, all flooring, walls, etc to all 13 properties in the development and then designed and installed this 4 bed showhome. Stunning Ted Baker tiles play to a botannical theme.

The large island kitchen with a high vaulted ceiling and breakfast nook beyond. Both are oriented with views of the pool terrace and Texas Hill Country beyond. The kitchen area is delineated as a core feature of the house, differentiated from the adjoining rooms through the use of contrasting warm gray colored walls with aluminum reveals. Centered is the cooking and seating island with cabinets made of high-gloss Heather Maple, with a Azul Volga Blue granite countertop. Around the island are the perimeter work areas, appliances and cabinets made of high-gloss earthenware Cherry with Lagos Caesarstone countertops. The cabinet doors are detailed with custom inlaid stainless-steel strips to compliment the appliances. The backsplashes are layered glass with a sandwiched wallpaper of a shimmery and flowy mercurial silver matrix. They extend from the counter height backsplash surface up to above the upper cabinets, behind backlit glass shelves. The generous windows are oriented towards the pool terrace and the Texas Hill Country beyond.

We love this space! The client wanted to open up two rooms into one by taking out the dividing wall. This really opened up the space and created a real social space for the whole family. The are lots f nice features within this design, the L shape island works perfectly in the space. The patterned floor and exposed brick work really give this design character. A person’s home is the place where their personality can flourish. In this client’s case, it was their love for their native homeland of Kenya, Africa. One of the main challenges with these space was to remain within the client’s budget. It was important to give this home lots of character, so hiring a faux finish artist to hand-paint the walls in an African inspired pattern for powder room to emphasizing their existing pieces was the perfect solution to staying within their budget needs. Each room was carefully planned to showcase their African heritage in each aspect of the home. The main features included deep wood tones paired with light walls, and dark finishes. A hint of gold was used throughout the house, to complement the spaces and giving the space a bit of a softer feel.

This custom-designed kitchen features gold glass in tall black cabinets on each side of the range. We used tree frog veneer cut on the bias for the front of the waterfall edge island. Inspiration Mediterain Art Deco Design. We used porcelain slabs for the countertop and backsplash and custom island hood. The custom slab range hood was designed to disappear into the book-matched slabs.

We are delighted to have completed the radical transformation of a tired detached property in South Croydon. When they appointed Granit, our clients were living in the property which had previously been divided into a number of flats. The historic sub-division had resulted in an extremely poor use of space with redundant staircases, kitchens and bathrooms throughout. Our clients sought to reconfigure the property back into a single dwelling for his growing family. Our client had an eye for design and was keen to balance contemporary design whilst maintaining as much of the character of the original house. Maximising natural light, space and establishing a visual and physical connection were also key drivers for the design. Owing to the size of the property, it became apparent that reconfiguration rather than extension provided the solution to meet the brief. A metal clad ‘intervention’ was introduced to the rear facade. This created a strong horizontal element creating a visual balance with the vertical nature of the three storey gable. The metal cladding specified echoed the colour of the red brick string courses tying old with new. Slender frame sliding doors provide access and views of the large garden. The central circulation space was transformed by the introduction of a double height glazed slot wrapping up the rear facade and onto the roof. This allows daylight to permeate into the heart of the otherwise dark deep floor plan. The staircase was reconfigured into a series of landings looking down over the main void space below and out towards the tree canopies at the rear of the garden. The introduction of double pocket doors throughout the ground floor creates a series of interconnected spaces and the whitewashed Larch flooring flows seamlessly from room to room. A bold palette of colours and materials lends character and texture throughout the property. The end result is a spacious yet cosy environment for the family to inhabit for years to come.
