Our clients have lived in this 1985 North Dallas home for almost 10 years, and it was time for a change. They had to decide whether to move or give the home an update. They were in a small quiet neighborhood tucked away near the popular suburb of Addison and also near the beautiful Celestial Park. Their backyard was like a hidden paradise, which is hard to find in Dallas, so they decided to update the two primary areas that needed it: the kitchen and the master bathroom. The kitchen had a black and white retro checkerboard tile floor, and the bathroom was very Tuscan. There were no cabinets on the main wall in the kitchen before. They were lacking space and functionality and desperately needed a complete overhaul in their kitchen. There were two entryways leading into the kitchen from the foyer, so one was closed off and the island was eliminated, giving them space for an entire wall of cabinets. The cabinets along this back kitchen wall were finished with a gorgeous River Rock stain. The cabinets on the other side of the kitchen were painted Polar, creating a seamless flow into the living room and creating a one-of-a-kind kitchen! Large 24x36 Elysium Tekali crema polished porcelain tiles created a simple, yet unique kitchen floor. The beautiful Levantina quartzite countertops pulled it all together and everything from the pop-up outlets in the countertops to the roll-up doors on the pantry cabinets, to the pull-out appliance shelves, makes this kitchen super functional and updated!

The client came to comma design in need of an upgrade to their existing kitchen to allow for more storage and cleaner look. They wanted to swap their laminate bench to a sleek stone bench tops that can provide a luxurious loo to their space. Comma design worked closely with the trades on site to achieve the results.

For this Japanese inspired, open plan concept, we removed the wall between the kitchen and formal dining room and extended the counter space to create a new floating peninsula with a custom made butcher block. Warm walnut upper cabinets and butcher block seating top contrast beautifully with the porcelain Neolith, ultra thin concrete-like countertop custom fabricated by Fox Marble. The custom Sozo Studio cabinets were designed to integrate all the appliances, cabinet lighting, handles, and an ultra smooth folding pantry called "Bento Box".

During office appointments we display clients kitchens on a flat screen TV and help them look through 100’s of sample doorstyles, almost a thousand sample finish blocks and sample kitchen cabinets. During home visits we can bring samples, take measurements, and make design changes on laptops showing you what your kitchen can look like in the very room being renovated. This is more convenient for our customers and it eliminates the expense of staffing and maintaining a larger space that is open to walk in traffic. We pass the significant savings on to our customers and so we sell cabinetry for less than other dealers, even home centers like Lowes and The Home Depot. We believe that since a web site like Houzz.com has over half a million kitchen photos, any advantage to going to a full kitchen showroom with full kitchen displays has been lost. Almost no customer today will ever get to see a display kitchen in their door style and finish because there are just too many possibilities. And the design of each kitchen is unique anyway. Our design process allows us to spend more time working on our customer’s designs. Kitchen remodel, apartment renovation, 35 m2 | Berlin | Friedrichshain | 2020 Scope of work: Conception Planning, Furniture Design, Budgeting, Detailed Planning, Sourcing, Contractors Evaluation, Site Supervision ulia and Mathieu are a couple who have lived in Berlin-Friedrichshain for several years. Although they loved their apartment, they were never satisfied with their kitchen and dining area. Although the space was large, it felt cramped. There were many doorways and it was difficult to make it functional. Plus, there just wasn't enough counter space, and it was difficult to find enough room for all of their kitchen utensils. Julia and Mathieu are two wonderful people who radiated warmth and welcome but the gloomy kitchen did not do justice to their personalities. That is why they reached out to me, hoping that an architect would help them better plan their apartment remodel.

This compact transitional kitchen design in Bowie, MD utilizes a well-organized layout and clever storage solutions to maximize the available space. The Decora Harmony maple kitchen cabinets in Urban finish pack ample storage into the perimeter cabinetry, and a peninsula separating the kitchen and living area also provides extra work space. The upper cabinets have frosted glass with in cabinet lighting, which adds light and depth to the room. Customized storage includes pull out garbage and recycling cans and corner cabinet storage with a lazy Susan. The gray cabinets are accented by Top Knobs Pennington pulls, a Pebble Rock Q Quartz countertop, and 12 x 13 mosaic tile backsplash from Compass Tile in multiple gray tones. A combination microwave range hood fits neatly into the layout, along with the Royal USA stainless sink with a Delta Trinsic faucet. The Solstice team also installed a new patio door and kitchen floor tile designed to match the direction of wood flooring in the adjacent living area.
